Living in the land of edits. I'm learning new things as I go along, although I'm beginning to go cross-eyed after going through three books in edits in less than 24 hours. LOL.

My interview with Mechele Armstrong!
For those of you who can't get to Mechele's newsletter, she was kind enough to allow me to copy the interview to my blog.

Interview with Cheyenne MeadowsA long time ago, in a galaxy…Hmmm wrong story *smiles*.Cheyenne and I met a long time ago at a fan-fiction site for a popular paranormal romance author. We worked together on stories there. She's also a great critique partner and one of my best friends. She's one of the most fun people I've ever met and when she writes a romantic comedy, it shows. Thank you so much for doing this interview! Tell us about your first book As Fate Would Have It:Brie welcomes her hard earned vacation, only to receive an early morning phone call from her aunt. It seems her old family friend and rival, Rye will be moving in with her immediately since water pipes burst in his home, leaving it unlivable until major renovations and repairs are complete. She's not thrilled, but once he's on her doorstep, doesn't have the heart to send him away, not when his gorgeous body sets her mouth to drooling and familiar challenge in his eyes sparks her competitive nature. Rye isn't happy either, but decides spending a few weeks with a pretty woman might not be so bad, if he can get her to loosen up and wear something sexy for once. He tosses out dares and ponders how low the predicted blush might go on her body. Trouble should be her middle name as she is as nosey as a chipmunk, but cute, too, except when she is busy plotting against him. From the onset, they start off where they left off, trying to one up the other. As feelings begin to bloom, Rye discovers something is up in the neighborhood. The couple across the street aren't who they appear while the old widow ladies place him on the top of their gossip list, questioning his endowments. A mystery and danger lurk as they begin to realize all the teasing is really foreplay and a cover for what lays buried in their hearts. Most of my book ideas do, usually at the least convenient times. LOL. The premise of what would happen if a man from the heroine's past came hurtling back into her life at a moment's notice started the ball rolling. After that it was a question of why would he have to move in? What kinds of pranks would they pull on one another? Since the guy is a detective, what might he notice that would send his cop instincts alarming? They just kept talking in segments until done. *G* How long have you been writing? How did you get your start?I actually started college as a writing major until the professor in my first writing class told me she was surprised I chose that major as I was "so bad at writing." Ouch. As you can imagine, I quickly shifted gears and changed majors. It wasn't until a few years later that I stumbled across one of my favorite author's fan fiction site. I joined and lurked for a while, reading what others wrote, gaining insight, until I gained the courage to start writing my own stories and post. Looking back, I can say my professor was probably right as those first few posts make me cringe today. But, I learned from others by reading some great works, received some feedback, and kept practicing. That was about eight years ago. I've been writing ever since and truly enjoy it. I hadn't seriously thought about writing professionally, but with tons of encouragement from some wonderful friends on the loop, I followed their advice and took the leap of faith. What's next for you? What are you working on now?My next book is scheduled to be released June 2 from Silver Publishing, entitled Tiger's Lily. It's the first book in a series of five about a group of top secret former special ops men whose job is to tackle some of the most dangerous and hard to reach criminals out there. Of course, each one stumbles across a potential love match along the way. The group is called Wind Warriors, which is the title of the series. The second book in the series, Loco, is scheduled for release July 7. I really like the characters in these books, even though writing more serious proved a bit harder for me since I have always lived in the land of romantic comedy. I might consider expanding the series one day, if the voices start talking that direction once more. Right now, I'm finishing up the last book in the Wind Warriors series after just completing a two series paranormal romance series. The paranormal stories return to more of a humorous nature, a bit less serious than the Wind Warriors and more into my comfort zone. After this book is complete, we'll see what idea pops into my head for the next one. I have eight books written thus far and intend to keep submitting as I work on new ideas. You write humor exceptionally well. Are you a funny person in real life? How do you get funny to translate on the page so well? Thank you! Coming from a gifted writer like yourself, that is a huge compliment!In real life, I do have my moments. I'm not a comedian, nor have I ever been a class clown. How did one friend put it? That I'm missing a filter in my mind which allows goofy thoughts to not only develop but to come out as well. LOL. I think my family would agree. Sometimes I just am able to pick up a common situation and say what if? It may be silly or crazy, but it's just me and it flows over into my writing. I really do enjoy working with comedic situations and love when a reader writes that they smiled and laughed because of something I wrote. It makes my day to hear that. With so much stress and difficulty in life, I try to provide a small outlet of amusement to give people a momentary escape from their worries. When I am writing a humorous scene, I try to picture it in my head. Write down exactly what they would say, then try to imagine what the other person would reply and their body language. That really helps me to get the scene down so that others can see the same image I am. Silk or satin? Ice cream or candy?For me personally, neither material. Cotton or flannel. Warm and comfy is me. LOL. Definitely ice cream over candy, although chocolate is a must have. Do you drink coffee?Actually, no. My parents never drank it, so I wasn't raised with that habit. I will drink tea, though. Oh, and slightly frozen milk, just when it's slushy with ice chunks. Yum. That's one of my favorite treats. What are some uses you can come up for chocolate?Chocolate is for dipping and dribbling over stuff. Anything sweet needs a layer of chocolate on top. Finding "As Fate Would Have It" on Amazon made my being published seemed almost real to me yesterday. *G* Once it's on Barnes and Noble and the paperback version comes out, I think it will finally sink in. YIPPEE!!!

Saturday my first published book, "As Fate Would Have It"...
Saturday my first published book, "As Fate Would Have It" is released. I'm so excited! Becoming a published author always sat in the back of my mind as something that would be so neat to accomplish and actually made it to my bucket list. Still, I truly didn't expect it to happen until this past fall when Silver Publishing offered me a contract on my first book. The same book that I would work on then set aside for years before revisiting it. It's still not sunk in, but perhaps soon!
