John Gaver (1950) grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating from college, he held several IT executive positions and later owned several successful businesses, including an import/export business, a printing business and an IT consulting business. He has traveled widely, in the USA, the Far East, Latin America, and Europe, living in London for a time.

John tried to retire at the age of 50, but found himself at loose ends. So he began taking occasional jobs as a property title researcher. This work helped him hone the research skill that he uses in his political and economics writing. He also writes science fiction.
