Live It Links! A Dozen Fresh Ways to Connect

In the spirit of Live it Links, I thought I'd share a few ways I'm connecting with myself, others, and the world, in the hope that you might find something that sparks your own connection.

On ancestors, laughter, tears, hope & magic

Laughter is contagious. It resonates through centuries bringing all of time into one infinitesimal moment. Tears do the same thing when we allow them to flow unabashedly. Sometimes laughter turns to tears and other times, tears turn into laughter. The two play back and forth in a watery dance. It’s all about releasing the potency.

On grief, owls, & pilgrim's pockets

Talismans and spirit animals have a way of hopping into my pockets like baby joeys burrowing into their mothers’ pouches. A petrified sandshell from the Sinai Desert, the hazel wood wand from Glendolough Ireland, seaglass and silver beaded bracelets via Spain. This morning they all surround me until finally I jump into their pockets and go along for the ride. They beckon me to be brave and ask the questions that I’ve never asked and to welcome the ones I push away.

‘Good Christian Sex: Why Chastity Isn’t the Only Option – And Other Things the Bible Says About Sex’

Book review for TLC Book Tours ... "Good Christian Sex" is a well-referenced, thoughtful, and highly readable book. It is one I would recommend to individuals trying to understand what it means to step into a sexual relationship whether for the first time or later.

Summer Snippet - La Bella Luna

"The moon and I call each other moon." Kabir

Playing Tricks - If Mother Moon wants to lay on her side, so be it :) Sitting on a sidewalk on Alki Beach, reading poetry and writing prose underneath the full August moon. My husband, Bill stands beside me taking photos of the skyline and passing ferry boats. La bella luna floats dreamily higher into the sky. Young girls giggle to my left and a toddler babbles on my right.

Peace, love, and light are my prayers for the day and this gorgeous summer night.

C'est tout. (That's all.)

Responding

The summer of 2016 has been a hard one for our world. The only way I know to respond is from my heart and through my creativity.

Down-to-the-bones Traveling & Beginning Again

I’ve been traveling. Big traveling. Far away and deep inside kind of traveling. Across oceans, past boundaries, down-to-the-bones traveling. And now I am home with a journal full of memories and a photo catalogue filled with images. I want to write and share and process, but I am scattered.

Playing with prompts ~ #here&now

Today's prompt play is from the fabulous book, Wide Awake. Every Week. It's a lovely compilation of 52 voices and 365 AHA! Moments. This one just happens to be by yours truly :)

"Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see."

Playing with Prompts ~ #befriend

While pondering today’s prompt, #befriend, I was delighted and not exactly surprised to see that lots of furry friends showed up in my musings. Again, not-so-surprisingly, they showed up beside the theme of my inner magical child. Join me, won’t you for this tiny peek inside the trails (and trials) of my mind.
