First Line Friday: Random ideas that my muse gives me...

First Line Friday.
The idea is we'll all share (unedited) snippets from one of our current Works In Progress or a previous release. Sometimes it will be the first line. Sometimes it will be a little excerpt. It will depend on what's inspiring me Thursday night. ;)
We've already discussed the fact that my muse has ADD. Literally, I come up with ideas and first scenes for books...ALL THE TIME. A few months ago, I had an idea for a female bodyguards series. I wrote the first scene (which I still adore), but haven't played with it anymore.
What do you all think? Should I add this project to my writing schedule?
I think you can get a pretty good gist of the story from these first few lines...

Now, go see what Kelly is up to this week...

Tagline Tuesday: Broken Control

The idea...I'll share a quick tagline from one of my books. It could be about the book, the series, or even about one of the characters. I plan to have fun with this throughout the year. Hopefully, you'll like the tiny glimpses into the story lines, too.
Today, I'm sharing the first tagline from my upcoming erotic romance, Broken Control.

Three years ago, rancher Tia Matthews lost her entire family when their private jet crashed. Since then, she’s survived the only way she could, allowing no emotion to creep in as she runs the ranch and her life…alone. But keeping her emotions at bay requires tight control, and her weekends as a dominatrix are the only way for her to maintain that. So when a freak riding accident leaves her blind, life spins out of control again.
Cade Dillon came to the Bar M two months ago to work as Tia’s ranch foreman, but has other reasons for being there. His new boss is beautiful, but her icy demeanor has ensured he has no qualms about his real reasons for coming to work for her. But when her accident leaves Tia vulnerable with no one to turn to, Cade begins to see a new side of her—one he wants to get to know better. He doesn’t realize that discovery is going to lead to a new revelation about himself, too.
Two stubborn people: a dominatrix who needs to maintain control; a submissive who needs to learn how to give up control. They both may find that passion hides within the reins of that control.
Coming this Spring, 2016

First Line Friday: Mistress Tisiphone from Broken Control

First Line Friday.
The idea is we'll all share (unedited) snippets from one of our current Works In Progress or a previous release. Sometimes it will be the first line. Sometimes it will be a little excerpt. It will depend on what's inspiring me Thursday night. ;)
I'm running a little late this morning, but I wanted to share the first line of my upcoming erotic romance, Broken Control.
Tia Matthews is the heroine in the story. She's one seriously tough girl. Three years ago, her entire family died in a plane crash, leaving her alone to run the family ranch. That's a lot of stress and pressure on her, so she's learned to channel those emotions through Mistress Tisiphone, her secret persona as a Domme for hire in an Austin BDSM club. In the good old boy ranching world of Texas, they have a hard time dealing with Tia, but if they found out about Mistress Tisiphone, they'd drive her out of business. These are the first lines about Tia in Broken Control...the start of Chapter 1.

And just because I love y'all, here's the back cover blurb:

A writer's brain...

I have a writer's brain. That means when I have downtime...taking a shower, trying to go to sleep, driving my 8 yo to school...my muse takes over. She enjoys this downtime...a lot. Her best ideas come out during those times, which normally works out well for me.
Today, I was driving my daughter home from school...traveling the same road I've driven every day/twice a day during the school year for the last four years.
Every day I pass by a house in an affluential neighborhood. It looks like every other house in this subdivision with one significant difference...you can't see the windows.
It has what looks like windows built into the house. When you look at the house you can see them...some of them even have arched tops. BUT you can't see the glass...not a single bit of it. There's some sort of strange covering blocking the windows.
WHY?
It's something I've considered a lot. Today the answer came to me...
What if a vampire lives there?
Suddenly the answer is so obvious...that has to be it.
And of course, because I don't have 33 other books at various plotting stages in my head (and I know that seems like it's probably an exaggeration, but it's TOTALLY NOT...sigh)
I begin to think of the possibilities.
*whimper*
I was asked last week to write a 10-15 k novella featuring gay vampires, but like the good writer I was, I said, "No, I have way too many projects on my plate already."
But then I considered the house on the other side of my daughter's school where 2-3 single guys live together that has always caught my imagination (yes, we've already established...I have writer's brain...I see stories EVERYWHERE).
Hmm, there might just be a story there.
A SHORT ONE!
Because I seriously don't have time for anything else.
*whimper*

But today I'm sharing the tagline for my new author persona, CG Snow . This name will be used for my New Adult books that are written in 1st person point of view with more angst-filled storylines.

I'm running a little late this morning, but I wanted to share the first line of my upcoming erotic romance, Broken Control. Yes, you read that right...erotic romance. What's a book about ranching without some BDSM roping?? (ahem...I guess that would be the Martin ranch series...LOL. I may have to talk to Matthew about that. ;) Just kidding.)
But this book is coming soonish...like maybe as early as next month? Maybe...I'm still waiting to hear.

And just because I love y'all, here's the back cover blurb:
