Do you even remember who I am?

The last time I posted on this blog was October 28, 2021...3+ years ago. I didn't mean to walk away, but I was facing serious burnout alongside stressful real-life situations which made focusing on my writing career impossible.
The biggest impetus to all that was my husband had a terminal illness that ended in January, 2023. After 32 years together and 30 years of marriage, it's taken a while to find my footing while missing my other half.
I'm now a single mom of a high school senior. I've adopted two more cats making our total now five!?! And I sold the house we lived in for the last thirteen years to move to a smaller one that's more manageable for me. I took a metal building located in my backyard and converted it into my office. And I've discovered a love for playing in my yard...who knew?
Through all this, life has changed pretty drastically for me, but what hasn't changed is my love for books. Throughout this whole time, I've been writing. It hasn't been as regular as it used to be because I'm trying to be kind to myself and remain wary of that burnout.
But I'm slowly coming back to my author self and thought it was time to revive this blog, since I plan to release books this year. Yes, you heard that...books as in plural.
The good news is... I have 14 stories written that are just waiting on editing and revisions.
The better news is...I have at least that many more in partial draft form.
The ideas haven't dried up.
But I'll admit jumping back in with both feet feels scary and daunting. I'm constantly waffling about how to do it, what I should publish, or if anyone even cares anymore.
But books are my passion and I want more of my own out there in the world.
So, keep watching my socials because there's more to come...
(hint: I'm on instagram the most)

Let me introduce you to my latest release, THAT TOUCH...

THAT TOUCH...by Christi SnowPrologue
“I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship.” –Rick Blaine
CASABLANCA
20 years ago – 7 yo
Izzy
I rounded the corner of the boys’ bathroom and closed my eyes for a moment, hoping I wasn’t about to see disreputable things.
That was a big word, and I wasn’t sure what it meant.
Mom used it with a sneer about Mr. Henley when she talked about something scandalous he’d done with his secretary (although I hadn’t been able to figure out exactly what that had been).
I figured it might be the type of thing I’d see in the boys’ bathroom at school.
I slowly opened my eyes and had to admit the view was slightly disappointing.
This looked just like the girls’ restroom, but instead of the stuck up cluster of bi-atches (my mom told me I shouldn’t repeat that word, but I could think it and she’d never find out) giggling in the corner, I found a group of the male variety of bullies from my second-grade class.
Ugh...they were the worst! I didn’t want to explain my presence, so I turned back toward the door.
But then I heard a small sniffle from the center of the group.
“Stop it. Give them back,” a weak voice pleaded.
Oh, no, they weren’t...
I turned around slowly, staring the group down, trying to see who they had captured.
Forgetting my escape, I stomped over to the cluster of boys and grabbed the shoulder of the jerk closest to me, yanking him out of the way so I could see who they were tormenting.
Leo, the new kid that had joined our class late last year looked up at me, tears filling his eyes and his lips trembling.
The biggest bully of the bunch, Mikey Etheridge, held him by his shirtfront with one hand, Leo’s glasses up in the sky over Leo’s head in the other.
“Michael Bartholomew Etheridge,” I said using my meanest ‘mom’ voice, “you give those back to him.” I didn’t know what Mikey’s middle name really was, but that sounded right.
It always scared the bejeezus out of me when mom middle-named me.
Mikey hadn’t heard me walk in, and he swung his shocked gaze over to me. “Izzy,” he sounded pretty scandalized himself, “this is the boys’ bathroom! You can’t come in here.”
“Well, I just did, so that shows what you know. Now unhand Leo right now or I’m going to tell Mrs. Brooks that you cheated off my math test earlier.”
He opened and closed his mouth like a fish searching for food.
He was taking too long to decide to make the right move, so I took a threatening step toward him.
As a general rule, I didn’t like violence. Mom said it didn’t solve anything, but after I broke Bethany Ann Sherwood’s nose in first grade, no one teased me about my buckteeth anymore.
In my book, that was solving a problem.
In front of me, I found another problem that needed to be solved. Mikey and his friends would not bully Leo anymore. It didn’t matter that Mikey was the biggest boy in second grade. I still had several inches on him.
I looked down my nose at him now. “You don’t want me to get mad, do you?” I clenched my fist so he could see exactly what I meant.
His eyes widened, and he quickly let go of Leo, shoving his glasses toward him. He and his crew started a wild scramble toward the door.
“I’m gonna tell...” Mikey began.
I cut him off and sing-songed, “Math test.”
He stopped for a full second to turn a hate-filled glare at me. “Bitch.” Then he took off running.
My mouth dropped open.
I turned to Leo and gasped. “He said the actual word.”
No one in the second grade had been brave enough to use real curse words. That was unheard of.
Suddenly Mikey’s status rose in my mind. He was ballsy. Not as ballsy as me, but I respected him a tiny bit more for having the bravery to use the real curse word, even if it was against me.
Maybe I’d have to start cursing, too.
I thought about it for a moment. Mom wouldn’t like it, and dad would start another one of his lectures about how ‘proper young ladies behaved.’ I shivered.
Maybe I’d wait a year or two more before I tried it.
“Are you okay?” I asked Leo.
“Yeah.” Leo nodded and examined his glasses. “Thank you. My mom would have killed me if he’d broken my glasses. It took forever to get them to fit right.” He gave a weary sigh as he replaced them on his face.
I tilted my head and studied him. I’d never really paid that close of attention to Leo Bennett before, and the glasses were new. They made him look different.
“I like them,” I told him. “They make you look distinguished.”
He wrinkled his nose. “I don’t know what that means.”
I twisted up my mouth as I thought about it.
I shrugged. “I don’t really know either, but my mom always says that Rock Hudson and Cary Grant look distinguished—like my daddy—so I think it’s really good.”
His brow wrinkled like that confused him. “Okay. I don’t know who they are, but I guess that’s okay, as long as you aren’t being mean.”
“Never,” I said in my scandalized voice. “Being mean isn’t nice. You and me, Leo...we’re going to be best friends and BFFs don’t say mean things about each other.”
Leo’s smile took over his whole face.
I returned that smile. It made me feel good about my split second decision to replace Melody in that position, but she’d been a bi-atch lately. Leo and I might be a better fit.
“Um, Izzy?” Leo asked in a quiet whisper as his face turned a bright shade of red. “Why are you in the boys’ bathroom?”
My eyes widened, and I began to dance in place. “I forgot. I need to pee like a racehorse. Guard the door for me, ‘kay?”
For a moment he didn’t look too sure, but then he nodded, resolved. “We’re best friends now. That’s one thing best friends should do.” Then he marched over to the door while I raced into the bathroom stall, feeling relief in more ways than one.
I’d gotten a new best friend today.
Leo Bennett. He’d be my sidekick, my very own Tony Randall.
A smile took over my face.
It had been an excellent decision to sneak into the boys’ bathroom today.

What's Coming Soon...
Like so many, the last couple of years haven't been easy around here, so I have taken time to simply enjoy writing and not worry about all the rest...i.e. all that marketing stuff that I am really not comfortable with. I'll admit, I never set out with the intent of not releasing any new books for a year and a half. It just kind of happened. YIKES!
I am sorry about that.
But the good news to my prolonged absence is that I have a ton of new books coming your way.
Up first...

August news...
First for my male/male readers, I have FIVE releases coming this fall.
The Texas Paranormals series is a series of novellas that I started a few years ago with Smolder and Shiver. Well, I have good news for you. Both of these books are coming back, bigger and better along with THREE more brand new releases.
All the books take place in the West Texas town where I live, San Angelo and feature a plethora of paranormal creatures. I've been immersed in this series during lockdown and have had so much fun writing them. I hope you have just as much fun reading them.
These books will be releasing directly into Kindle Unlimited beginning in September or early October.

A couple of years ago, I wrote a couple of series with an amazing author, Sarah Nego. The first series is the Naked Brews series which follows three friends as they take over a family brewery that one of the girls inherits. But three young women trying to run a brewery in the middle of the Rocky Mountains is not without its challenges and that's where the Naked Brews series comes in.

The plan had always been finish college, move back to Colorado, and run Naked Brews with her dad. That plan fell apart when Lake's dad died and his ex-wife, AKA the absent maternal figure, inherited the brewery. Now Lake will have to convince her perfectionist mom not to sell the place, sweet talk the bank into a loan she has no credit for, and figure out how to turn the failing brewery into a success. No problem.
Walsh
The job should be simple. Pretend to be his millionaire best friend, buy a failing brewery, and honor their fallen brother-in-arms. But simple went down the drain the minute he met the sassy new brewery manager. Now he's stuck between a loud-mouth sarcasm factory and her mom. He'd prefer to be trapped between Lake and a soft bed, but he swore he wouldn't sleep with the brewery owner. Though technically she doesn't own the brewery...Naked Brews
They both want to buy the same brewery and ignore the chemistry brewing between them. What could possibly go wrong?

A tragic fire left Melissa Frye homeless and with nothing to her name except a single tea cup from her massive collection and a box of clothes that don't fit. Her life isn't the raging success she thought it would be, but she refuses to go home and work for her uncle's CPA firm. She'd rather live out of her car than face that soul-sucking future. But with hardly any savings and months of couch surfing with friends in front of her, her car is looking more tempting by the day.
Anthony
Anthony Millett has spent years as the Bad Boy of Boarding, but his high life of snowboarding and non-stop parties is starting to catch up with him. After sustaining an injury while saving Melissa from a fire, his competition season is over and his sponsors aren't willing to put with his bad boy persona anymore. He needs a reputation fix quick and the lovely Melissa could be just the answer.
The plot Thickens
Anthony has plenty of spare bedrooms in his mountain-side mansion and Melissa has the perfect face of innocence to convince his sponsors he's a new man. Pretending to date her won't be hard. Not falling for her could be a challenge.

Alexandra Nichols spent her childhood in the leftover spotlight of her actress mother and producer father, smiling for the cameras and hating every minute. The paparazzi have taken her picture way more times than her own parents. Living with her best friends in the middle of Colorado is about as far from that life as she could get, but no matter how far away she is, her parents keep finding ways to keep her pinned beneath their thumbs and pulling her back into their crazy world.
Damian
Ever since the IED explosion that killed his army brothers, Damian Thorne has hidden himself away from everyone except his best friend. Walsh is the public face of their massive non-profit, so Damian never has to leave home. It's easier than tolerating the stares of horror or explaining the scars that disfigured half his body. The last thing he wants to do is spend two weeks with a bunch of strangers, but his best friend is getting married and he owes him so much.
The Bitter Truth
Alex can't seem to find her way out of the public eye and Damian wants nothing more than to hide in the shadows. When Hollywood royalty meets the boy with the ruined face, sparks fly. But everyone knows Beauty and the Beast was nothing more than a fairytale.Buy the Naked Brews Series in Kindle Unlimited ***FREE***And don't forget this other male/female series,

***Excerpt from QUICKLY FALLING IN QATAR***

He let the valet take the car after he grabbed his overnight bag out of the backseat, then he entered the very upscale, modern, high-rise hotel. The swanky, marble-filled lobby bustled with various clusters of people standing around chatting and doing their business. He scanned the area, but didn’t see anyone immediately who struck him as the person who’d be filling the role of his fiancée.The agents hadn’t told him what to do in that instance. Maybe whoever he was meeting had left him a note at check-in. He approached the long desk and smiled at the concierge standing there waiting to help. But before he made it, he heard his name. “Mal?”He knew that voice. His breath froze in his chest. It couldn’t be.He turned toward the person. His knees wobbled even as his heart rate took off like he was on the verge of having a heart attack.Hell, maybe he was.“Petra?” he asked, his voice hardly more than a whisper of shock. He hadn’t seen her in nine years, but she looked exactly the same...just more stunningly beautiful. He wouldn’t have thought that was possible.Petra Compton. The only woman he’d ever loved. The woman who’d broken his heart and never looked back. She was looking at him now though, gauging his reaction. He didn’t know how to react. How had this happened? She couldn’t be his contact. Life couldn’t be that cruel. But why was she here? She wore a slim-fitting black pantsuit with red, mile high heels. The heels gave her an inch or two on his height since she was tall for a woman at five foot nine. In college, she’d always dressed casually and used very little makeup. That wasn’t the version of Petra standing in front of him today. Her long red hair was pulled back into a tight bun on the back of her head, and she’d done her makeup to perfection. She looked like a high price model and he wasn’t the only one who thought so as heads across the lobby turned to watch her elegant approach. When she reached him, she leaned forward to embrace him. Her lips brushed over his ear, leaving goosebumps trailing down his spine. “Play along,” she whispered. Then she pulled back as she kissed his cheek. “Hello, darling,” she said exuberantly, using her normal voice that carried over the marble-floored lobby. “I’ve missed you.”Up close, she smelled exactly the same as he remembered, honeysuckles in the morning. That scent hit him like a deathblow. Oh, god. He’d missed her so much. His arms tightened around her instinctually. “Petra.” His voice didn’t even sound like his own.He pulled away, needing separation from her. He had to get his brain to function and he couldn’t do that with her so close.
For a split second, her eyes flashed with worry at whatever she could read on his face.He worked to school his expression. He couldn’t blow this operation when it had barely even begun, no matter much her being here shocked him.She hooked her arm in his and gently tugged him toward the back of the lobby. “Did you have any problems finding the hotel? Wait until you see our suite. It’s just gorgeous. I’m so glad you could get the time off. We’re going to have an amazing visit.” She continued to gush like any normal almost-married couple would. He just nodded along. That was the extent of his acting ability right here, while his heart and mind both reeled. Nine years ago, they’d fought, and she’d left. No goodbye, no fuck you, no nothing. One day she was there, the next she’d left, and he felt like she’d ripped his heart from his chest.Hell, it kind of felt the same way right now. Guess somewhere along the line, his heart had healed...just so she could come back and pummel it again. He followed her into the elevator that he assumed led up to their room, like a lamb being led to slaughter. When they entered the elevator, she squeezed his hand and glanced meaningfully up at the camera in the corner, like he was a novice at this. He knew the camera was there, although now when the anger was pulsing under the thin layer of his skin, he wasn’t sure how much he really cared. How dare she show up like this out of the blue?It didn’t matter that this was their job.It didn’t matter that a twenty-five-year-old lieutenant was missing. It didn’t matter if the fucking President himself had sent Petra to be here.It should matter how much she knew this would hurt him.How could she come here like this and act like it was no big thing?
***It's RELEASE DAY!***

It's also special to me because it features a couple getting a second chance at love after their engagement fell apart nine years ago. It's also a return to my romantic suspense roots because the heroine is an FBI agent and the hero is an Air Force investigator. They are working undercover in Qatar trying to find out what happened to a missing Air Force lieutenant.
I hope you all have enjoyed this series and especially enjoy Mal and Petra's story.

Heads Up about coming changes...

This month's new release is the final book in the Locating Love series,
Quickly Falling in Qatar
releases June 23rd and is available for preorder NOW!
This book goes back to my military romance beginnings with a hint of light romantic suspense. It's also one of my favorite tropes...second chance at love.
Quickly Falling in Qatar story description:
Growing up, Mal’s single mother always put her career before her kids. As a result, he had very definite ideas of what he wanted in a family. That cost him the one thing he wanted most of all...Petra.
Nine years later, Petra has a good life as an FBI agent. She helps find missing people and has found her own semblance of peace. But that’s all thrown into chaos when her new assignment pairs her up with the ex she let slip away...Mal.
They’re undercover in a foreign country looking for a missing soldier, and worse—they’re forced to pose as a couple in love.
The problem...the lie may be closer to the truth than either one of them wants to admit, especially with so many hurts and secrets still standing between them.

We've been having fun. We celebrate 28 years together this month, so I feel like it's saying something that we can have fun together. That's a gift.
The reality is that if he finds another job, it will probably not be in our hometown. The kid and I won't be moving with him. There are a host of reasons why, but the most important is our 13 yo who is in a really good environment right now. That is also an important gift especially at that age.
So, I'm trying to enjoy every minute with my husband and we've been doing that by watching a lot of Netflix/Amazon Prime. We've discovered some fun shows/movies, so I thought it might be fun to share our recommendations...Our nightly fixation right now...The Last Kingdom (television series on Netflix)...We're loving this show so far. (We're on season 2 of 4 out so far.) We lived in England for 2 years when hubby was in the Air Force, so it's fun to get to see a somewhat fictional version of how England came to be from the perspective of the middle 800's AD.Movies we've recently enjoyed...Mr. Right with Anna Kendrick (quirky and dark humor);The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society (gorgeous, wonderful movie about a book club established during WWII to cover subterfuge in Europe);SALT (an old Angelina Jolie movie, but we both LOVED it...lots of action and twists):Late Night (Amazon original movie...was really pretty good and entertaining)Extraction (Netflix movie starring Chris Hemsworth...we both really liked it although it's really violent)Our escape from reality standbys...we have a couple of shows that we rewatch for escape...Gilmore Girls;Great British Baking Show;

There are so many voices out there that have good information, better than I could ever state. I've kept mine quiet so that the wisdom and knowledge of others could be heard.
But make no mistake...I care. I care so much, it hurts. A lot.
And I never want you to think that I don't.
These are my beliefs:
Black Lives Matter.
Science is Real.
Love is Love.
Women's Rights are Human Rights.
No Human is Illegal.
Kindness is Everything.
(Yes, I stole that from a poster, but I fully believe every word of it.)
