Kerry Adrienne – Cruise Control
Parker paused. His guest seemed so put together. So in charge. Was it possible he really did understand?
Blake sighed. “Where were you stationed?”
“Robins.” Parker noodled out a melody on the keys, the out-of-tune piano almost groaning at being used.
“Really?” Blake stretched. “Not far from here. What, maybe fifty miles?”
“Less. Depending on how you get there.”
Blake rubbed his face. “Damn. I was sent halfway around the world to a shithole in the Middle East.”
Parker stopped playing. Military? No way. Not spoiled-rich brat, Blake. He paused. Now that he thought about it, his guest did have a military-ness to him. Something in his cocky carriage, maybe. Something in his firm voice hinted at command. “Air Force?”
Blake shook his head. “Army. But the chapter is closed and I don’t get into it. No offense, man, it’s the way I am. My past is the past. Maybe I shouldn’t have pried into yours.”
He hadn’t seen Blake so solemn, not even when his precious car was DOA at the garage. “Fair enough,” he whispered.
Blake looked into his eyes with a seriousness that sent Parker’s pulse racing. He took a sharp breath as Blake’s gaze explored his.
“You understand.”
It wasn’t a question. Parker nodded, positive Blake could hear his heart thundering yes, I do with every beat. He understood all right. He loved his country, loved serving and protecting, but the time was long past. Truly another lifetime someone else had lived. It was time to move on.
Blake touched him under the chin with one finger and slid along his jawline with a soft drag. Parker didn’t move, sure if he did, his legs would give out. As Blake met resistance from Parker’s day-old shave, his touch lightened, sending chills up Parker’s back.
Blake leaned in until his breath warmed Parker’s cheek and the smell of his cologne permeated every bit of air. “We’d better get to bed since we have to leave so early.”
Bed. Parker nodded again, aware he’d been reduced to head gestures, as all language had fled. If he turned, his lips would find Blake’s.
Blake paused and neither man moved. Parker opened his eyes and Blake tugged a finger over his bottom lip then dropped his hand. Parker flinched at the loss of Blake’s touch. What had just happened?
“Where’s the toilet? I gotta piss.”

Blurb:
For tiger-shifter, Samira Anderson, leaving home for the first time to attend Harmony University should unnerve her. She’s never submitted to the fear of a challenge and doesn’t plan to start now. Meeting her dorm mates and touring the campus excites her and her cat. Although when she meets Gavin Stone, she’s not only nervous around him but fears she might lose the tight control she has over her tiger.
After a bad break up with his high school sweetheart, Gavin has no intentions of repeating past mistakes. Or so he thought until he sees the beautiful, smart, Samira at the dorm welcome party. Drawn to her like no other, he can’t stay away or shake the feeling Sam isn’t telling him everything.
When he discovers her secrets, a whole new world opens to him, filled with danger, unknown possibilities, and a passion so intense it could last many lifetimes.
Excerpt:
If any more people piled into the dorm, Sam was going to scream. The ground floor of the house was elbow to elbow. She couldn’t walk to the bathroom without feeling like the ball in a pinball machine. The human-shifter ratio was fifty to one.
Sam quickly learned humans were pretty clueless to their surroundings—at least this crowd of students were anyway.
“I hate crowds,” Jesse spoke softly beside her.
“Me, too.” And parties where underage humans drink and play the music too loud.
Camile had handed her and Jesse earplugs, but they only helped to muffle the noise. A headache had moved in, and Sam was ready to crawl out of her skin. Literally. Her tiger begged to go for a run, go find that stream she heard when she’d arrived that morning.
Suddenly, an odd awareness drew her attention to the entrance. Three guys stood in the doorway. One of them looked about as thrilled to be there as she felt. Poor guy. He stood by the door, his hands shoved in pockets as he scanned the room with a frown on his lips. Sam couldn’t get a read on his emotions from so far away, but she could tell he’d rather be doing something else. His friends probably dragged him away from his video game.
He had dark hair that barely covered his ears, but his bangs fell in his eyes in a sexy kind of way. His wire-rimmed glasses kept sliding down his nose. Scanning down to his broad shoulders under a deep purple button down, she grew more intrigued by the human. Something about him called to her.
Jesse’s cool fingers brushed her hand, drawing her attention away for the human to glance at her friend. The leopard lowered her eyes and withdrew her hand. Sam sighed and covered the female’s hand and gently squeezed. Submissives weren’t normally so timid, but Jesse was the poster girl for the word.
“What is it?”
“He’s cute.” She blushed and glanced to where the new guy stood.
Sam smiled. “Yes, he is, and very human.”
As if sensing her watching him, he lifted his lashes and stared right at her. Her pulse spiked while her tiger purred. When he started to advance toward them, Jesse tensed slightly, but Sam paid it no mind. She was too focused on the guy who held her captivated.
When he stopped at the table, she nearly groaned when his cedar-and-mint scent flowed around her, alluring and intoxicating. Damn, she wanted to bury her nose into his neck and bite—
“Hello, I’m Gavin.” He held out his hand.
“What? Oh.” Sam shook his hand and suppressed the urge to purr as some kind of electrical current passed through the connection. What the hell was that?

Annabeth Albert – Resilient Heart
Excerpt:
“Oh? You’re not depressed?” Mackey kept that same uber-reasonable tone. Uber-irritating more like it.
“Fuck no.”
“This new propensity of yours for glowering and cursing and scaring nurses, it’s just for giggles and grins? Because I got to tell you man, it’s not working. And it’s not really you.” Mackey hefted the duffel onto his shoulder as easily as if it were one of the bed pillows.
“This is me. You want old me? The nice guy? He’s gone. You’re wasting your time.”
“Oh, he’s in there,” Mackey said lightly. “He’s smothering under that giant chip on your shoulder, but we can knock that sucker off.” And with that, he—and Xander’s bag—headed into the hallway, the sounds of the ward creeping in as soon as the door opened.
Fuck Mackey. Fuck his sudden do-gooder streak and his assumptions. Like Xander wasn’t entitled to be pissed? Like he was supposed to be all Suzy Sunshine about his wrecked life? And Mackey saw him as some of fixer-upper project? Disappointing him was going to be hell, but the old Xander had died in a ditch back in Afghanistan when an IED took everything he knew to be true about himself. He grabbed the pillow and punched it hard with his good hand. Fuck.

Arctic Fire
by Keira Andrews
Jack realized he was trembling, and wrapped his arms around himself. “The brass gave me the desk job, and I thought it would be a good change after the sand box. But I hate it. I’m no good at it. They know it and I know it. The colonel sent me here to give me another chance. He shouldn’t have bothered. Nothing works anymore. It’s all fucked. I’m fucked.”
The wind shrieked as if in agreement, and the tent shook. Jack squeezed his eyes shut against Kin’s sympathetic gaze. I’m pathetic. Did I just say all that out loud? Fuck me. Fucking fuck. He scrambled to his knees. “I need to get out of here. I need air. I need—“
Jack’s eyes popped open as Kin’s arms went around him. Rigid, his breath frozen in his lungs, Jack didn’t move. Through their bulky layers, Kin held him, his arms strong and secure. Jack sucked in a breath, pressing his face to Kin’s throat. It was warm and soft, and he gripped Kin’s sides, breathing hard.
For a long while, Kin held him and murmured something in Inuktitut, and Jack’s pulse slowed as he listened to the rumble of Kin’s voice and the rhythm of the words. They had turned the lantern off since the sun was up, but with the driving snow the tent was dim. He closed his eyes, and stranded on the barren tundra, countless miles from anything except deadly ice and polar bears, he felt safe.
Kin must have taken off his gloves, because Jack felt his long fingers against his head, stealing under his toque and rubbing through his short hair. Jack pulled off his hat, eager for more contact, turning into Kin’s touch like Neville when he wanted a tummy scratch. Stop before this goes too far. He’s only being kind. He doesn’t want this. Doesn’t want you.
Every instinct screamed at him to stay put, but Jack leaned back. He was an army captain—he couldn’t cross the line with a subordinate. He met Kin’s gaze, and a jolt blazed through him at the darkness in Kin’s eyes.
“I want to touch you,” Kin said. “If you—”
Jack lunged for Kin’s mouth, swallowing the rest of his words with a moan as their lips met and parted, tongues already seeking and exploring. Kin tasted like tea and the iron of the raw seal meat they’d eaten a few hours ago, and Jack reveled in it, his blood stirring as he stroked Kin’s tongue with his own. The stubble on their cheeks rasped together, and Jack yanked off his mitts and Kin’s hat so he could tangle his fingers in Kin’s short, thick hair.
They were wearing far too many clothes, and Jack tugged and struggled to touch flesh. He growled as he encountered another layer, and Kin broke the kiss, laughing. His eyes were alight, and he held Jack’s face in his hands to kiss him again soundly.
He whispered against Jack’s lips. “Best way to stay warm is skin to skin.”

Excerpt:
“Let’s get down to business. What are you looking for? A hookup? Two men? Marriage, babies and picket fence? Are you looking for a man to do some naughty things to you while you’re tied up?”
“Mrs. Wilder!” She gasped. Damn, she hadn’t expected that. All that internal brooding had made her forget Mrs. Wilder could ask some off-the-wall questions. Tally had told her that Mrs. Wilder was not the usual elderly woman, but geez.
“I don’t have all day, you know. I need my beauty sleep,” Mrs. Wilder said. With her new flipped bob and perfect makeup on her wrinkleless features, she was hot for whatever her age was. Mrs. Wilder followed up her words with a smile and picked up her coffee. “You strike me as a woman who knows what she wants.”
Nita thought about that for a moment, panic rising in her chest. She did know what she wanted, usually. The best relationship she’d ever had with the opposite sex hadn’t been sexual. It had been open. Honest. Trusting. Did that make her a freak?
“I want a man to want me for me.” Hearing the words come out of her mouth made her wince.

Hi! I’m Milly (AKA April Angel) I love to write sexy stories. They’re usually either paranormal or contemporary with a large dose of heat. My paranormal stories can be anything from wolf-shifters (my favorites) to witches, demons and anything in between. I was born the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, I live in New York City with my hubby, the bossy kiddo and our little dog “Needy Speedy”. Don’t ask. When I’m not working some really long hours at the day job, or hanging out in the awful life-sucking invention known as Facebook, messaging my bestie in the UK or shopping with my sis Julie, then I can be found watching scary movies. Buuut when I’m not doing that, I’m usually writing because the voices won’t shut up.
I am addicted to shoe shopping, chocolate (but who isn’t, right?) and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
Come by and visit me! I love to meet new readers!
