My Third Visit to Barnes & Noble for the 50% Off Criterion Sale
So, for the third time this month I decided to buy more movies. Yes, I realize I have a problem but I am starting a collection now I decided since I don't collect much of anything anymore. Plus with no movies really releasing right now, I think its time to broaden my horizons and venture into cinema from others parts of the world. So here is a pic...

So to break it all down, here are the titles from this current haul:
If any of these intrigue you, try going to Barnes & Noble and getting your hands on them. IF you can't just click on the title for another buying option.
I'm thinking of doing review videos for films, what do you think? Please like the post and consider signing up to my website for up to date news on blog posts, book review, and about my current/future releases.

Birth of the Fae by Danielle Morsino-A Quick Book Review
Buy Birth of the Fae by clicking

,Welcome to the Veil! The story starts off when the angels are locked out of Heaven. Which has different effects on different Angels. I found it interesting to watch these angels evolve into their new species, some were light and some were dark. There is so much magic and mystery in this book that it envelops you like a warm blanket , you just want to snuggle into. I could get lost in this world that Danielle has created and never come out. Now don't get me wrong it's not all happiness and rainbows, there's a lot of darkness and evil there too which is equally intriguing. Who doesn't like some danger in their mystery? The journey was long and mysterious but worth the wait. -Brandy Michelle

The Court of Miracles By Kester Grant Quick Review
,,,,,,Book Review ,,,,,

Purchase The Court of Miracles by Clicking
,Review:
,The Court of Miracles is a modern twist on the Robin Hood story with the glamour and mystery of the glittering court. The story pulls you from the first page when it explains the rules of the court. You follow our main character, the brave black cat, as she fights, steals and schemes her way into our hearts. She guides us through the dark world of the court of miracles through all the guilds and their members. She sneaks us into the palace where we join her to feast on sweets and join an over the top ball, but danger and treachery hide in every corner. We follow her as she steals from the rich to give to the poor. Kester Grant has an amazing gift, she can build a world and you feel like you are enveloped in it. You will not simply read this as the Court of Miracles will engulf you from the start, transporting you to be one in this world that Kit has created. It was like watching your favorite movie and being sad when it ended. I honestly do not have enough words to say how amazing this story is.

Opium and Absinthe by Lydia Kang-Quick Book Review by Brandy Michelle
You can purchase Opium and Absinthe on

Quick Review:
Most of this story was as eye opening and trippy as the characters themselves. We watch the main character, Tillie, spiral out of control with grief and drugs, dealing with the loss of her sister and her uncontrollable addiction. Her inner monologue during these drug induced haze are brillant and insane at times. Almost everyone around is a horrible shallow human being that should really look at themselves closely and stop telling her how to live her life. I really enjoyed when the characters rebelled against her family and went out on her own to solve the mystery and live her own life her own way.
My only gripe is the books description of Gothic Victorian era portrayed it as having a high level of grandeur, but Opium and Absinthe missed the mark towards the end.

COME AND SEE MOVIE REVIEW, PLEASE LIKE AND FOLLOW:
I was scouring the internet when I came across an article that had a headline that said, “The Best Scary Movie You Never Heard Of”, or something to that effect. I clicked on the link and found it was talking about Come and See. I take a strange sense of pride in my movie knowledge and when something as intriguing as this movie seemed came to me, via my, laptop, I had to search for it. I have to say that the article wasn’t wrong once I had found it on the Criterion Channel App as Come and Seen is one of the greatest films about war and the innocence it takes.
From the first frame of the film I was entranced thanks to the cinematography from the great Roger Deakins (Blade Runner 2049, 1917). The world around Flyora seems small as the people in his town seem few and far between. He dreams of fighting alongside others in his Soviet country against Nazi Germany comes closer as he begins to prepare for war against his mothers wishes. After he is recruited, a chain of events begins that takes him through the journey of child like innocence, love as only a teenager can know it, personal loss, and the realization that there is more than just his wants and pain.
Director Elem Klimov tells a tale of adolescence and growing into adulthood too quickly in time of war from the moments of joy to the utter despair it inevitably brings. The last thirty minutes of this film are some of the most vile acts of war put on film, in my opinion. Everything leads to this crescendo of evil that keeps your eyes peeled to the screen even when you won’t want to. Come and See is one of the most important war movies to ever release and the fact that is finally being recognized more by the American audiences now and should not be missed

Come And See (1985) Criterion Blu-ray Quick Review
Buy now at Barnes&Noble.com for 50% off until May 10th, 2020, or get it on

Synopsis:
"This legendary film from Soviet director Elem Klimov is a senses-shattering plunge into the dehumanizing horrors of war. As Nazi forces encroach on his small village in Belorussia, teenage Flyora (Alexei Kravchenko, in a searing depiction of anguish) eagerly joins the Soviet resistance. Rather than the adventure and glory he envisioned, what he finds is a waking nightmare of unimaginable carnage and cruelty—rendered with a feverish, otherworldly intensity by Klimov’s subjective camera work and expressionistic sound design. Nearly blocked from being made by Soviet censors, who took seven years to approve its script,,Come and See ,is perhaps the most visceral, impossible-to-forget antiwar film ever made."
