A Quick Thought About Publishing
A publisher should believe in your book, or they don't. Any business takes gambles and either they keep you or drop you in the end. But to spend money on things that you can learn yourself or pay someone will the skills to do so for less money and not get the exposure it needs seems backwards.
When I looked up the books that were published under this publisher, the Amazon sales ranks were all in the 3 million range. To give you a sense of how that works, if my book is in the millions and one copy sells it is usually catapulted in the thousands for a bit. That means the publishers books arent selling and many of those authors paid money not to get close to any return on the investment.
This is not their fault.
Im not telling anyone how to do get their books out but after ten years of this I can only give advice. Things take time. Build your brand as best you can with the resources you have and dont let some "publishers" ring your wallet dry. There are a bunch of books in the world so make sure you find those that will fully support it because they beleive in it, and not because they want your money.
Thoughts About Independent Publishers
Authors are free do to whatever they wish in terms of publishing and contracts, but my advice is to never pay to have your book published. Pictured is a contract I had received early this year that claims they believe my book had potential as it "was deeply emotional and timely story", but yet wanted me to pay 5K because I am a not well known author.

The Game by Linsey Miller-A Quick Review by Brandy Michelle
The Game by Linsey Miller is a fun and harmless cat and mouse game that soon turns more sinister.
In her senior year of high school, we follow the main character, Lia, as she enters a fake Battle Royale like-game with other kids in her class. What should only be a fun, carefree water tag game with fantastic bragging rights, turns deadly when someone takes the game and puts in their own, murderous, rules. Lia finds that the antagonist is stalking her, and her teammates, to potentially frame her to take the fall.

This book was a fast easy read, and to be honest, it had a good concept but felt like the execution missed the mark. I saw a lot of the twists coming before they occurred. I didn’t find any surprises with this story as it all felt very predictable and not very fleshed out. The writing was just okay, as it felt like this was the first story the author had ever written. Which, don’t get me wrong, is not a bad thing, but read like a first draft to a level that could have been better as it read too matter of fact like and didn’t flow well.
The story was okay as it didn’t do anything to wow me. I have read other books and watched movies that are similar to this story and were much better. I feel Miller just needed more guidance from her publisher, and maybe she could have had a better novel in The Game. This writer, and book, deserved better. I am sorry to say; I just was not impressed.

My Realization This Morning...
This me. Haven't shaved in a week and no shower yet when I realized that I am near the end of The Solstice Chronicles and it will be the last time these characters will be written about. Seems strange knowing that after ten years, the story I started as a bet and would go on past the first book will be ending soon.
I know that not everyone will like how it ends, but i think that's just culture in the world now as everyone thinks they know better than the people who create stories, but that's life and I hope you all just enjoy the ride.

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer-A Quick Review by Brandy Michelle

I have waited so many years to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint. It felt like I came home after being away for so long and was enveloped in the warm embrace of Twilight. It was so wonderful to see the world of Twilight through Edward's eyes. I actually think I prefer it in some ways. Edward has a way of describing the same events that I have already read and making them feel new and different. We also received more history into the family in this book. I enjoyed learning more about Carlisle through Edward's world view. My biggest complaint is this book is entirely too long. It was completely unnecessary for it to be 662 pages. Meyer could have given us a shorter version of this story and it have been just as good. This was a wonderful walk down memory lane. Thank you, Stephanie Meyer, for bringing me back to my happy place in Forks.
