🔥 Check Out Our Cows! 🔥
A few years back, my wife and I partnered with one of our dear friends in India to start two family homes that would care for orphans there. One family would care of girls; the other one of boys.
Within a month or so, 10 boys were given a new start in life. Once they were settled in, and we covered the school fees, clothes, food, and expenses, the girls were brought to their new home. 11, to be exact. With dresses, schooling, food, shelter, and all the love and care they need, each of the children have flourished.
Two of the boys have already gone on to university, fully-covered so they can pursue their dreams. With them at university, 2 more boys have been added to the group.
But what's with the cows?
Well, we needed a rice field to provide some of the food for the orphans, and the cows bring in income from the milk sold. The milk provides the income needed for the caregivers and the young widow, as well who gets paid for taking care of the cows.
The rest of the money gets used to cover the kids’ clothes, school fees, etc. Then, twice a year, any other needs that come up are taken care of by "auntie" and "uncle" (my wife and I 😊) that are over and above what the cows can bring in.
Why am I sharing this with you?
What started out as a heart’s desire to help orphans has grown into 2 loving homes that will be sustainable for many years. 23 children to date are able to have loving, stable homes, to be in good schools, to go to university and become engineers, doctors, IT techs, one wants to start an after-school education center, and more. Jobs and income for 3 families and big smiles and hopes all around.
God has been good to us, and we can be good as well..
News is depressing, complaining is pointless, love is the antidote.
