Book Signing Follow-up, Barnes & Noble Booksellers
Book signing follow-up. I took a scenic journey through the Bitteroots Mountains, along the Idaho/Montana border, and across the Continental Divide of the Northern Rockies, before driving down onto the wide plains and harvested wheat fields of Montana, before arriving in Bozeman, a major university town, home to Montana State University, to sign at Barnes and Noble Booksellers.
Again, I was fortunate enough to conduct another successful book signing. Handed out a lot of flyer packets and met a lot of interesting people from around the region, but also people visiting from Spokane (my home area) and from the Netherlands and Canada.
To say the least, management was pleased with my efforts. The events director, Beverly, told me that last week the store had a couple who had written a book about Montana State University for a signing. The couple did not speak to a single person who entered the store, and looked at the smart phones the entire time. Beverly was disgusted to say the least. "That is not how you sell books," she said. "I am so pleased to have you here today, and happy you will return next Spring."
I want thank store manager, Theresa O'neil, assistant manager, Jamie, event director, Beverly Delap, and associates, Molli and Roman (yes, his name is Roman, he loves Roman history and is a history major at Montana State University) for contributing to the success of this event. I will return Spring, 2019, for another signing. Next signing, Saturday, Sept. 29th, EntertainMART, Couer d'Alene, Idaho.

Review - The Peacekeeper
Below is a wonderful review of The Peacekeeper.
Review - The Peacekeeper
by
Janet Morris
I have loved every book written by Jess Steven Hughes, historical novels and set in Roman Britain. Where, you say? Read the First four Hughes books, once referred to as the "Sign of the Eagle" series, and find out. Now Hughes has given us a new book, the Peacekeeper. And with it, new branding for his historical adventure series begins in earnest: Henceforth called the "Britannia Romanus" series, the triumph of these earlier volumes is about to be eclipsed with the publication of the Peacekeeper, #5 in this story but a magnificent stand-alone read as well. Why do I recommend the Britannia Romanus series? Because it's that good, good enough to recommend without reservation. Few can do what Hughes does, mixing genres to bring us books that open doors into worlds previously unknown, time after time. Hughes writes a combination of mystery, adventure, suspense and romance seldom equaled. A former Marine and police detective, real-life experience informs every sentence, every page. Those characters breathe and suffer and scheme and love and hate as if they were ripped from history whole cloth.
The Peacekeeper is suitable for young and old. At times, Hughes' writing reminds me of Umberto Ecco, at other times, Wallace Breem. With the Peacekeeper, Hughes delivers on the promise of earlier volumes, delivering a deeply-researched historical novel filled with mystery, adventure, romance, and command of his period so strong and effortless, so real, you'll think you've been to Roman Britain yourself!
Few can equal Jess Steven Hughes. So come spend some time in Roman Britain with a gifted author whose skill is never obtrusive and whose characters you'll never forget.

Book Signing Follow-up
Book signing success @ Barnes & Noble, Silverdale, Washington (next to Bremerton US Naval Base), Saturday, June 23rd.
The event at this store, which sets near Dyes Inlet, on Puget Sound, was successful beyond my expectations. I met a lot of interesting people, passed out many flyers and signed many copies of The Broken Lance and The Sign of the Eagle Trilogy. To say the least, management was pleased. "This is the best book signing the store has seen in a long time," store manger, Martha, said. "I'm pleased you made arrangements with Amy (events coordinator) to return in September (8th)."
I want to thank store manager, Martha, events coordinator, Amy, assistant manager, Sarah, associate, Jordan, and the rest of the Barnes & Noble staff who contributed to the success of this event.

Book Signing Follow-up
Successful book-signing weekend. This last weekend, I conducted successful signings @ Yoke's Fresh Market, Liberty Lake, Washington (Friday) and Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Spokane Valley, WA (Saturday). I met lots of interesting people, some as far away as Texas and Alberta Province, Canada. I handed out lots of flyers and signed many copies of my historicals, The Broken Lance and The Sign of the Eagle Trilogy. Several people, who had previously purchased my novels returned for additional books. One gentlemen said, "I've read your first four, when's the next one coming out?" Needless-to-say, management at both stores were very pleased. B&N Assistant Manager, Meera, commented, "You hit the jackpot at our store, as far as I'm concern." I was so busy, I forgot to have pictures taken with new readers, just one by myself at Yoke's. I want to thank store managers, Dan Dicicco of Yoke's; Leslie of Barnes & Noble, the assistant managers and associates who contributed to another successful weekend. Next Saturday I will be signing @ B&N, Northtown Mall, Spokane, WA. Details later.
