Burning Music Love: iTunes Card Giveaway!

Hey Friends -  A Night of Southern Comfort was a blast to write and partially because of the soundtrack on my iPod that helped me get in the mood for Jackson and Michaela’s story. It all started in a bar:

It was all about falling in love:

And, taking charge of your future:

And, then about finding your own happy ending:

Pretty huh?

I love music – in addition to writing, I also sing in a band and have for years. So, I always write with the iPod on and I’m always searching for new music. I’d love to hear what your favorite love song is. Let me know!

I’ll pick a winner for an iTunes $15 giftcard and two more to either get a copy of ANoSC or another Indulgence title if you have my book already.

Burn it up,

Robin

Theraflu, Fassbender & My Debut Release

Friends – it is 4 days – 4 DAYS!! – until the release of my debut novel, A NIGHT OF SOUTHERN COMFORT.  I am beyond excited to be so close to a dream come true! If you like a sexy, steamy, snarkybook about a one-night-stand turned to love – it is a book for you!

So in in preparation for my release, I’ve been writing blog posts, working with my publicist, stuffing reader goody bags, and writing.  LOTS of writing! I completed and submitted a Christmas novella which I hope you will get to read in December and completing revision on another book proposal.  I love being busy with writing!!

So, what is the last thing I need right now?  A sinus infection. Ugh.

I think I got sick when I was forced  . . . umm, joyfully and willingly went camping with the Boy Scouts on Friday. (That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!)

As I sit here on my couch, head swimming in a lovely haze of Theraflu, I am further medicating myself with one of my current drugs-of-choice . . .  Michael Fassebender.

Specifically, Michael Fassbender as Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre.

So sexy. So flawed. So conflicted. So romantic.

One of those intense Fassbender gazes and you forget that he’s got a crazy wife in the attic who wants to burn down the whole bloody house with you in it.  Sigh . . .

Some of my favorite quotes from the book:

“Do you think I am an automaton? — a machine without feelings?  Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you.

Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

and, this one as well:

“Because,” he said, “I sometimes have a queer feeling with regard to you–especially when you are near me, as now: it is as if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly and inextricably knotted to a similar string situated in the corresponding quarter of your little frame. And if that boisterous channel, and two hundred miles or so of land come broad between us, I am afraid that cord of communion will be snapt; and then I’ve a nervous notion I should take to bleeding inwardly. As for you,–you’d forget me.”

Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

So, I’m going to sign off and continue my encounter with Mr. F.

Burn it up,

Robin

Burning Fun – Something I can’t wait to see and something I wish I hadn’t

Hey Friends!

Well, I am patiently counting down the days until my debut release. A NIGHT OF SOUTHERN COMFORT will be released by the Indulgence Line at Entangled Publishing on June 15th! I just completed edits on the galley copy and now I am waiting to get a peek at my cover art. Yay!

So, what is a girl to do while she’s waiting? Surf the internet, of course! (You didn’t think I would say that I am working on the next book did you?) ; )

So, I found two videos that both captured my attention – one because it features strippers (hell, yeah!) and one that made me want to clean out my ears with Clorox when it was done.

First, the strippers . . . well, hot actors playing hot strippers . . . same thing. I cannot wait to see “Magic Mike” – not only does it feature Channing Tatum, but it also has my man, Joe Mangianello. Yes!!!!

What is the plot? Do you think I care? Take a look . . .

The second video is a bit different. Yes, I read the book “Fifty Shades of Grey” and I thought it was 50 shades of lame in the sexy department but I love all of the attention the romance industry is getting. But, this video is hilarious and Gilbert Gottfried is wonderfully terrible. I really wish I hadn’t seen this one but it was a like a car wreck and I couldn’t look away.

Burn it up,

Robin
