Gaining Clarity

amazing-clear-water-pictures-1 “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” -Tony Robbins

Hello Spiritual Warriors!! I hope you are thriving, healing, transforming, and feeling fulfilled. I’ve been working with SacredFire these past few weeks engineering the final mixes of our upcoming CD Journey to Infinity. There have been hundreds of pieces of life that have been swirling around me during this time – the Hay House World Summit, writing my next book, taking care of peaches – the Buddha princess, working on my website, speaking at several conferences, kicking off this summer’s Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Teacher Training, posting on Facebook, staying connected with my loved ones & friends, visiting the beach every day, meditating, practicing yoga, watching my favorite TV shows, reading & studying ancient texts, practicing my Spanish, taking out the garbage…you know the drill. Life is wild and chock full of moment after moment after moment.

The tool that I have found valuable during times of extreme activity in order to slow the relentless swirl is looking at life through The Five Realms Of Existence. I’ve shared them with you before but to those who are newly on board, they are The Physical Realm, The Emotional Realm, The Material Realm, The Relationship Realm, and The Spiritual Realm. I teach how to live life through the Five Realms at my workshops & this November in Tulum, Mexico, we’ll be exploring the Realms for a solid week –we’ll go really deep– to take our lives to the next level.

But right here…right now…if you feel you could benefit from some clarity – you can make an important shift in how you respond to the unfolding of your life

During times when it seems like you can barely catch your breath, look at your life through the lens of The Five Realms. That will keep you moving forward on your journey while keeping everything in perspective, and bringing greater clarity into the moment.

Here’s an example: your to-do list is bursting at the seams; you’ve got expectations of what needs to get done, several obligations that you have committed yourself to, a brand new set of circumstances & the basic day-to-day stuff still needs to get done. So slow it all down; start your morning with a meditation to bring some stillness & silence into the trajectory of your day.

Then walk yourself through The Five Realms & spend just five minutes on each realm:

Start with your Physical Realm: your body, what comes in & what goes out, what strengthens it & what weakens it; pick one action to definitely do – and one thing to let go JUST FOR TODAY…don’t torture yourself – bring one thing into your physiology that will nourish and release one that’s not nourishing.

If you would like to take this exploration deeper, join me this Thursday at 11a PST/2p EST on hayhouseradio.com.

Then think about your Emotional Realm – and walk yourself through your ability to monitor your own and other people’s emotions, to discriminate between different emotions and label them appropriately, and to use emotional information to guide your thinking and behavior. Place your attention on your

levels of empathy, compassion, hot buttons, trigger points, assumptions, and conditioned responses. Commit to one emotional behavior that is serving you and keep it in your awareness throughout the day – create a mantra that you can keep flowing throughout the day such as “patience…patience…patience” And every time you feel you’re about to respond in a way that might not serve you, take a deep breath in and -as you exhale – repeat the mantra.

Then drift your attention to your Material Realm for five minutes. Make one decision today regarding how you will view the material abundance in the world. Seeing yourself as a never-ending conduit will flow through how you treat your money, finances, your debt, status, your position, possessions, dharma, your saving, hoarding, or your giving. Allow abundance consciousness and wealth circulation to transform any feelings of poverty consciousness or less-than thinking. And throughout the day, remind yourself of that shift. Reinforce it by keeping the san kalpa – the subtle intention – “Aham Brahmasmi” (I am the Universe) running in the background of all your thought processes.

Then spend 5 minutes on the Relationship Realm and reflect on one relationship you have – with your self, your core family, friends, extended relationships, those with whom you have a grievance – and leading with love…take a step to either birth, repair, shift, or end it. Throughout the process, breathe in deeply as you allow these four virtues: forgiveness & impeccability of your word, your thoughts, and your deeds to be cultivated within you.

And spend your last five minutes on the Spiritual Realm – your connection to the your soul & to the divine spirit; your daily practice of prayer, meditation, and devotion to the divine; contemplate your dharma or noble purpose in this life. Breathe in and plant a seed of one-ness in your heart & let the universe kiss your soul.

Then briefly reflect on each realm and the intention or commitment you made to yourself. If you really want to ground them in the tangible world, write them down and place them someplace where you will regularly see the document. But the key is to live them – live your intentions…lean into them. As Krishna says to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, “Yogastha kuru karmani” essentially – Establish yourself in the present moment, then perform action.

The swirl will slow. Clarity will unfold. Your choices will become more evident. Your decisions will start to truly nourish you & those in your world. With gentle repetition, this can become a daily practice. And it only takes a few minutes of attention on each realm. Email me at info@davidji.com to let me know how it’s working for you. Keep meditating & I’ll see you in the gap! Peace. –davidji

Skillful Verbal Acts

tumblr_n3owt77Qfx1tx3o64o1_500

“Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”

- Carl Jung

Hello Spiritual Warriors! Welcome to a week of identifying our needs & consciously sharing them. Not so easy when we reflect on all the ama – the toxic residue – we leave out there throughout the day…in emails, texts, phone calls, and innocent conversations. The Buddha taught 2600 years ago when in-person speech was the primary way to share information. (remember those days?)

But almost 3000 years later, here we are, and the concept of Right Speech (the 3rd teaching of the Noble Eight-Fold Path which includes right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, & right concentration) flows into all the ways we communicate with others.

The Buddha referred to all these communications as Verbal Acts and encouraged all beings to reflect on your speech, before, during, and after speaking.

He encouraged the self-reflective question, “Will this verbal act lead to self-affliction, to the affliction of others, or to both?”

If the answer is yes, he considered it an unskillful verbal act.

Join me LIVE every Thursday at 11a PST/2p EST on hayhouseradio.com…radio for your soul.

Deepak Chopra echoes the Buddha’s teachings when he encourages us in the Law of Karma to ask, “Will this choice bring fulfillment & happiness to me and also to those affected by this choice?”

If upon reflecting on your words before you speak, you determine that they would lead to self-affliction, to the affliction of others, or to both – then we must acknowledge in that moment that they will create ama and the ripple of that toxic residue will release pain into the world. Therefore, we would be better off – the world will be better off – if you don’t speak them.

But what if it’s too late. What if you’ve already released ama into the world through your written or spoken words? To this the Buddha counseled, “confess it, reveal it, lay it open to the Teacher or to a knowledgeable companion in the holy life. Having confessed it… you should exercise restraint in the future.”

So today, let’s come clean with our unskillful verbal acts. Let’s confess them, reveal them, RELEASE our attachment to them and make the conscious choice to perform a more skillful verbal act in the future. We are not bound forever by our past unskillful verbal acts – we get to speak new loving, truthful words again after thoughtful reflection. And we have the ability to make more conscious choices and re-cast the trajectory we have created…create a new ripple…one filled with truth, kindness, & purpose. Then your world will flow with greater sweetness, greater grace, and greater ease. Join me this week on Hay House Radio and let’s manifest some skillful verbal acts. See you in the gap! Peace. -davidji

Awakening Your Inner Healer

Dream World

“He who has health has hope and he who has hope has everything.“ – Arabian Proverb

Hello Spiritual Warriors!! Welcome to the last week in May. Can you believe how quickly the year is unfolding? Over the past five months, we have all encountered new challenges & triumphs…surprises & aha! moments…celebrations & heartaches. This is the wild roller coaster of life – ever changing, ever unfolding, ever uncertain. As each day comes to a close, we may find ourselves seeking healing – healing of our minds, healing of our bodies, and healing of our souls. Sometimes, we can benefit from outside help such as when we are diagnosed – and need the help of a medical professional, or when we find ourselves in grief and can benefit from a therapist. But there’s additional support that can come from within – deep within – from your most genuine self – which is pure and perfect and whole and enlightened. Which knows no separation from source – only knows love, compassion, forgiveness, and light – it only knows wholeness and sees all things as ONE.

Awakening your inner healer & cultivating your innate healing powers starts with a shift in how you see the world. Ask yourself, “ Are you this separate distinct entity or are you an integrated piece of the universe?”

You know the answer. If we can –just for a moment- surrender to the primal fact that we began this existence as one with the universe, we can make a profound shift in our body & our mind.

Throughout our lives we have distanced ourselves from the whole by resisting, protecting, pushing back, guarding, defending, preventing, and stopping.

But we could – just as easily – allow, receive, and accept that this moment and all our moments are perfect exactly as they are. If we are willing to do this, then we can move to a mindset of The Healer where the universe is supporting us not attacking us.

If we can connect and know at our core level that we are indeed worthy, and brilliant, and intuitive, and deserving of love & happiness, then we can connect to the part of us that can soothe, nourish, and heal our wounds – our emotional ones and then our physical ones.

There is a beautiful phrase in Sanskrit, yata pinde tat brahmande – as is the cosmic body, so is the personal body; as is the cosmic mind, so is the personal mind.

So when you find yourself in a situation where you see you self as separate – remind your self that this is an illusion that you have bought into – there is nothing separate from you – everything around you and within you is God wearing a different disguise. The words from someone that sadden you…your interpretation that someone is out to get you…the cells in your body that have forgotten they are one with the universe… your fear that someone will say or do something or that what you said or did was a horrible mistake…all illusions and meaningless in the divine scheme of things.

When you find yourself stuck in that stinking thinking – you need to RE-BOOT. Connect to a few moments of stillness & silence – use 16 seconds to bliss. Then remind yourself that it serves no one. Out loud say, “I am whole. I am safe. I am loved. I am the universe.”

Then whisper it, “I am whole. I am safe. I am loved. I am the universe.”

Then repeat it to yourself silently, “I am whole. I am safe. I am loved. I am the universe.”

Breathe in – feel the divine cosmic breath of god flow into you – feel it ripple through every cell in your body – stay in that space as you fill what is empty. And then as you exhale, empty the fullness of what does not nourish you.

Breathe in and:

Fill your tender heart with self-compassion & unconditional love

Fill your mind with nourishing images and the power to move forward

Fill your body with pure healing energy that ripples through every cell

And allow the universe to sweetly kiss your soul – merging you with timeless oneness.

And breathe out and:

Empty you body of its toxicity

Empty your heart of its sadness

Empty your mind of its darkness

And

If you will give yourself permission to practice this exercise every day at 10, 2, & 6 – the natural times of Ayurveda, you will begin flowing with the universe. It will integrate itself into every cell in your body. You will cleanse your very BEing of that which no longer serves you. And you will fuel yourself with strength, courage, love, and grace. You will awaken your inner healer. Keep trusting & keep meditating. Aham brahmasmi baby! peace. –davidji

The Path to Enlightenment

tumblr_n54joh3Gwm1tuy142o1_500

“Start with meditation, and things will go on growing in you — silence, serenity, blissfulness, sensitivity. And whatever comes out of meditation, try to bring it out in life. Share it, because everything shared grows fast.”

-Osho

How do I get enlightened?

Hello spiritual warriors!! This week we dive into the answers of the most profound questions we could ever ask: What is enlightenment? and, how do I get there?

For thousands of years, people have used various techniques to bring their minds to a quieter state of being. Depending on where in the world they have lived and what their culture or society has encouraged, human beings have come up with an extraordinarily rich array of practices for going beyond the ordinary waking state to expanded states of consciousness. Depending on the culture and religious orientation, these ritualized practices include chanting, breathing, ecstatic dancing, healing touch, listening to music, making love, visual stimulation, aromatherapy, and even ruminating on the taste of chocolate. Each technique is specifically designed to move the mind from its current state of activity to one of present-moment witnessing awareness.

Find your stillness with me in Tulum, Mexico this November!

Find your stillness with me in Tulum, Mexico this November!

You have already experienced the phenomena of present-moment witnessing awareness many times throughout your life, but perhaps you didn’t even realize it. These are the moments when you are in the “still zone.” It’s that moment on a roller coaster when you are screaming at the top of your lungs as your body plunges downward to certain death—or when you are playing sports and every shot you take, every move you make, is the perfect one. It’s when you are giving that big presentation and rather than read some memorized script, you spontaneously seem to channel just the right words in an effortless flow. It’s when you spontaneously say or do the perfect thing at the exact perfect moment, cook the most brilliant meal as if you were a culinary genius, make passionate love . . . merging into your partner and surrendering to the bliss of an orgasm. It’s the experience of gardening in your backyard and feeling so immersed in the aroma of the soil, the vivid colors in each petal, the beauty of the moment, and the textures of the earth, plants, and flowers that time seems to stand still. And it’s the pure joy of laughing so hysterically your belly starts to spasm. These are all states of present-moment witnessing awareness, when we are not thinking for one moment about the past or reaching one second into the future.

When we experience present-moment awareness in a state of restful alertness, we are experiencing the same stillness zone we experience during deep meditation . . . pure unbounded consciousness . . . the realm of no thought, no sound, and no sensation. When you are in that space, you have essentially disconnected from all the things in your world that are in the realm of activity. In the language of many meditators, this is referred to as accessing the space between your thoughts—the gap—a space pregnant with pure potential and infinite possibilities.

When you have a consistent daily meditation practice, instead of only having sporadic tastes of the bliss of present-moment awareness, you begin to experience that bliss more and more in your everyday life. As you meditate regularly, a physiological shift occurs that grows deeper, stronger, and more profound with repetition. Like building any muscle in your body, meditation is a practice that transforms your entire physiology over time. This shift is subtle at first, and as the process of physical and emotional softening occurs, you begin to view life in new and expanded ways. Life takes on a different hue . . . a deeper meaning . . . a more universal understanding that pervades every cell of your being. The present-moment awareness you experience in meditation begins to flow throughout each thought, each conversation, each keystroke, and each breath.

Meditate & discover your dharma with me this September!

Meditate & discover your dharma with me this September!

In both ancient and modern writings on the experience of meditation, this change, shift, or transformation of awareness—this space of being—has been referred to by many names, including enlightenment, transcendence, awakening, satori, the aha! moment, Brahman, rapture, bliss, being in the gap, astral projection, connecting to source, turiya, remote viewing, witnessing awareness, bhagavan or brahmi chetana, cosmic consciousness, God or Christ consciousness, being in the moment, atma darshan (glimpsing the soul), oneness, unity, ananda, and samadhi.

And when you experience no activity within you or outside of yourself, you actually open yourself to realms of expanded consciousness and a greater depth of feeling that include higher levels of creativity, intuition, personal growth, compassion, subtle empowerment, forgiveness, and peace of mind. Whether this stillness lasts for a tenth of a second, ten seconds, or ten minutes is of no consequence. Touching stillness—even in the smallest of doses—allows you to connect to your unconditioned Self . . . to your source…to enlightenment!! Join me this week on Hay House Radio and we’ll dive deep into the process. And don’t forget to sign up for the Hay House World Summit right now! (it’s free).

Keep meditating. And I’ll see you in the gap! Peace. -davidji

Ayurveda & You

tumblr_n3ig9lGyb01r5y8t0o1_500

“Transform the world, by transforming yourself.” – davidji

Hello Spiritual Warriors!!! And welcome to another opportunity to explore & share the magnificence of timeless wisdom together. This week, we immerse into one of the oldest healing systems on the planet – Ayurveda – pronounced eye – yur – vey-dah.

Ayurveda, literally the “wisdom of life,” offers us a unique lens to view our life and how we individually express the universal components of existence.

Explore the 5 Realms with me in Tulum, Mexico this November!

Explore the 5 Realms with me in Tulum, Mexico this November!

According to Ayurveda, everything that flows within us and everything that flows outside of us is comprised of five master elements – space, air, fire, water, and earth. Notice how these elements flow from the lightest…the most subtle expression of life – (space) to the heaviest…the most dense – (earth). As the process moves from space to air to fire to water to earth – we see & feel the increase in form, shape, weight, and structure.

Ayurveda teaches us that everything in existence is a blend of these five master elements. So that means every person, every animal, every corner of the planet, every aspect of your daily life…has space, air, fire, water & earth inherent in its make-up.

This intermingling of all five elements determines the energetic flow in every moment…in every conversation…in every interaction…in every interpretation & in every expression. Some moments carry more space, while others are fiery, and others are earthy. By being mindful in each moment – and that comes from having a daily meditation practice – we can learn volumes about how & why we act the way we do, what elements are abundant or scarce in a given moment, and how to balance ourselves – bring us back to our natural state of balance.

For the past 12 years I have studied Ayurveda with some of the most brilliant teachers of this ancient wisdom, trained thousands in the Perfect Health LifeStyle methods, and most recently written my very first Ayurvedic opera – Journey to Infinity – a wild 2 hours of mantras, meditations, and transformational music featuring my dear friends & collaborators, the sound healing duo – SacredFire. This November in Tulum, we’ll perform an exclusive series of private evening concerts as we connect to the sweet magic of the Mayan Riviera in Mexico – so check it out & join us for a bucket-list week as we explore the 5 realms of your life, meditate together, practice yoga, and discover the ancient Mayan ruins in a magical setting. Our new album will be released in two weeks and you can pre-order and save $3 whether you buy the CD or download the mp3 version. Check out samples here!

Watch today’s video on Ayurveda to better understand the master elements and what they mean in your life; and join me this week on LIVE! from the SweetSpot on Hay House Radio and we’ll take it deeper (and take your calls).

In the meantime, don’t forget to register FOR FREE for the Hay House World Summit, which starts in just a few days. Keep it real, keep meditating, and I’ll see you in the gap!!! Peace. -davidji
