Shenanigans…

I made some banana bread this week. My husband didn’t say anything, but when the buzzer went off, he jumped up and took it out of the oven. Very strange behavior.

Okay, so maybe I was busy and the buzzer went off three times.

Semantics.

After the bread cooled off, husband followed me around asking if I wanted a piece of bread. Even stranger.

I didn’t take him up on the offer. About an hour later, he cut himself his own piece.

It looked good, so I decided to have a piece. Look what I found ->

Stink...

What I’m Reading…

Here are the blurbs:

Cold Magic (The Spiritwalker Trilogy)~

The Wild Hunt is stirring – and the dragons are finally waking from their long sleep…

Cat Barahal was the only survivor of the flood that took her parents. Raised by her extended family, she and her cousin, Bee, are unaware of the dangers that threaten them both. Though they are in beginning of the Industrial Age, magic – and the power of the Cold Mages – still hold sway.

Now, betrayed by her family and forced to marry a powerful Cold Ma...

The best laid plans and all that junk…

Sorry for being away so long. I received the edits last week for my latest book, Electric Moon. Yay!

I set out specific goals everyday to finish the edits in hopes of being able to receive a printed proof on time.

So, you know what happens when you plan something, right? *sigh*

The good news is I finished my edits. The bad news, it was a few days late. I was hoping to have edits done on Wednesday, order printed proofs, and be able to have them shipped to me early next week. I only finished last...

Mini-reviews…Part 2

Here are the last of the mini-reviews I promised. I picked some wonderful authors and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Magic Rises (Kate Daniels) by Ilona Andrews

I’m a huge fanof the Kate Daniels series, so I snatched up my copy as soon as it came on sale. Although some of the twists felt a little forced, I loved being back in their world. The action and tension were first rate, and I gobbled the book up in one sitting. I love the characters, both good and bad,and the unique storyline. If you’re lo...

Mini-reviews…Part 1

I’ve read a number of books over the last week or so. Instead of giving you full reviews, I’m going to put up a few mini-reviews. I’ll post the remaining couple later this week.

Blood Law (Blood Moon Rising, Book 1) by Karin Tabke

This book started off great. I love gritty urban fantasy and this book fit that description perfectly. Unfortunately, things went down hill after the first few chapters. I lost my connection to the main characters. I still enjoyed Rafael, but Falon just kind of fell t...

Book Hangovers…

Have you ever read so much that the next day you end up with a book hangover?

Yeah…I woke up with a mild one this morning after reading two books yesterday. It’s an achy headache that sticks with you all day. Usually, your eyeballs even hurt. I lucked out this time and escaped that fate. I should know better since I did the same thing last Saturday and suffered the full-effects. Blah.

I’ll post some short reviews later this week. There were some great ones in the pile.Too bad some of them were...

Where did the summer go?

It fells like late September/October where I live. The last few days, we haven’t even hit 70 degrees…in JULY?

What’s up with that?

Last night, I woke up to a temperature of 67 degrees. The night before was around 65 degrees. That’s cold in my little house. A friend of ours left their windows open and it dropped to below 60 degrees for them. brrrrr

Anyone else miss Summer?

Jail Break!

We have a good sizeproperty. We live out in the country. Tons of room to run. Apparently, thepasture is greener on the other side of the fence…or the mice are more plentiful and easier to chase.

This littledog has escaped twice in the last two days.I let him off the leash yesterday. He gave me a devilish look, the one you know where he’s going to be trouble, and took off running. He knew what he was doing was wrong. He looked back at me with that smirk of his as I chased him through the woods, y...
