Tuesday Tales - Greasy
It`s time for Tuesday Tales.

Today we have another excerpt from Overtime, Cayuga Cougars #4, an MM hockey romance book.
Our word prompt today is “Greasy”. This scene is the first time that Sander meets Noah Coombs, Mateo’s boyfriend, and the third partner in this polyamorous romance.
This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

I peeked around the sharp corner into the living room as I pulled off my coat. Nothing fancy in the way of furnishings but damn the man sitting on a big pillow on the floor sure was beautiful. Short sandy blond hair, a startling pair of sky blue eyes, and cheek bones you could rest a beer bottle on, Noah sat looking at me, his long legs folded into a lotus, a pad of some sort on his lap. He was wearing a tank top and lounge pants. His feet were bare. “Hey,” I said to break the spell he seemed to be in. His gaze darted to Mat coming back into the living room. “Kind of hard to see the TV from there. Come in,” Mat said, waving at me before flopping down into a couch that had a massive sag in the middle. “Bring that controller. We’ll get you logged in and then we’ll hit that pizza.”I moseyed into the big room, giving the pictures on the walls a cursory glance and then eyeing the blond who was still staring at me openly. The closer I got the better I could see the fine details of his face. Thick, dark lashes tipped with gold, a small mole on his shoulder right above a floral looking tattoo on his right bicep. His right ear was pierced, and a small tulip hung from his lobe. His tank top also had a bunch of flowers on it. “Sander, this is my boyfriend, Noah Coombs. Babe, this is Sander March. I told you about him? The hockey player.” Mat spoke while firing up the PS4. “You were both losers,” Noah commented, his gaze finally leaving me to return to the large sketchpad resting on his lap. Now that I was closer I saw that he had a pencil. Mat had said he was a comic artist. Maybe he was creating a new comic. “Yeah, pretty much,” I replied, picturing these two striking men pressed up against each other, bared to my eyes, cocks hard and weepy, kissing and caressing each other. My dick liked that image. A lot. I sat down fast, and leaned up to hide the half hard prick in my jeans. Flustered, I grasped at something to say. “You drawing a new comic?”I heard Mat suck in a sharp breath through his teeth. Fuck. “It’s not a comic, it’s a manga.” Noah replied, got to his bare feet, and walked into the kitchen, his sketchpad in his hand. “Sorry,” I immediately said. “I just felt weird and he was staring at me and…”“It’s okay.” I gave Mat a doubtful look. “Seriously, it’s okay. He’s sensitive about it but since you’re a new friend, he’ll let it slide quickly. Also, I should have warned you about how intense Noah can be at times.”“Intense how?” The sound of glass plates being taken from a cupboard floated out of the kitchen. “He’s an artist and sometimes he gets…lost in the appreciation of beauty.”I blinked a few times. “You’re saying that he stares at people like that all the time?”“Only ones he finds artistically appealing.” Mat smiled gently. “That’s a compliment by the way. Don’t be surprised if your face turns up in one of his yaoi books.”“Thanks, for the compliment. I think you guys are hot too.” The room felt a little too warm now, Mateo’s cologne a tad too appealing. “What’s yaoi?”“It’s a Japanese genre of illustrated gay romance, basically.”“Oh.” I turned my head to try to see into the kitchen. That would be kind of cool to be in a gay comic. Manga. Shit. I really needed to get that pounded into my head. When I looked back at Mat, he was holding out my controller, a soft sort of sensual smile playing on his lips. “Like how explicit are these yaoi books?”“Oh, they can be pretty graphic, but his are tempered with lots of romance.”“Huh, and this is for gay men?” I seriously had never heard of this before.“Usually it’s written by women for women. I know, go figure, but sure, gay men buy them. Noah works under a pen name, since the whole for women by women thing. Tulip Ito.”“That’s his pen name?”“Yeah.” Mat glanced from me to something behind me. “Hey babe, I was just telling Sander about your books and your pen name. You cool with him?”“Guess so.” Noah came around the sofa with two glass plates holding two slices of greasy pizza each. “It’s manga.” He said, his voice low and smooth, as if he feared being too loud or something. “Not comics.”“Right, totally got that. Thanks man.” I took the dinner plate. Noah then disappeared into the kitchen, coming out later with his sketch pad, a plate of his own, and a beer. He never said another word to me or Mat, just walked behind the beater sofa and disappeared into a room that I assumed was the bedroom.
Artists seemed to be just as quirky as goalies.

Strong and Sexy - A selection of tasters from the Queer Romance Freebie and Fan Club authors.
QRFFC is a Facebook group made up of romance authors that has over 2,300 members now, and shares freebies, new releases, and competitions.
The fourteen romance authors involved are often asked what of their own books they would like to recommend as a place to start.
So, we came up with this idea to create a book you can download onto your own reader with first chapters, buy links, social links and news, for a selection of the authors. We also thought we’d group items together, for example, contemporary, paranormal etc.
The first taster book is called Strong & Sexy and can be downloaded to your desktop from the following links:

Now, you can have the books that introduced Victor Kalinski to the world in one reasonably priced boxed set! With over 350 Goodreads reviews and ratings combined, the romance of Vic Kalinski and Dan Arou is one that once read, will never be forgotten. In this three-book set, you’ll get to experience all the passion, sarcasm, hockey action, and romance that reviewers have called “Beautifully Written”, “Surprisingly Heartfelt”, and “Hot! Hot! Hot!”
“The writing in this is snappy and awesome, the story moves at a great pace and oh it's HOT AS EVER-LOVING HELL. There's romance that never veers into a too-sappy place, it's FUNNY and full of great lines right and left, and so engaging that I couldn't stop reading it. The ending is satisfying, with our characters not becoming perfect people but becoming better together than they are apart, and that's just about as romantic as it gets.” Avon Gale – Author of the Scoring Chances series
Readers should be over 18 due to mature language and gay sexual situations. The set includes:
Two Man Advantage (Point Shot Trilogy #1) Game Misconduct (Point Shot Trilogy #2)Full Strength (Point Shot Trilogy #3)

Story Spotlight - The Hockey Player's Heart by Jeff Adams & Will Knauss

Many thanks to V.L. for letting me talk about The Hockey Player’s Heart, which is a Dreamspun Desires category romance that I co-wrote with my husband, Will Knauss. The book is a feel-good, second chance romance between New York Rangers captain Caleb Carter and third-grade school teacher Aaron Price. When Caleb and Aaron were in high school, Aaron tutored Caleb in geometry. The boys had crushes on each other that they didn’t admit.
Since this is a tropey, category romance there’s not a lot of angst. Even in terms of the second chance, Caleb and Aaron don’t have baggage to sort through in their shared history. Aaron is best friend to Caleb’s older sister and Caleb is a year younger so they ran in slightly different circles as teens. They were more than acquaintances, but they weren’t friends. As they reconnect, both out adults, there’s an immediate desire to catch up with each other and those old crushes can now be fully explored
Here’s the strange thing about writing this book for me--the lead character is a member of the Rangers. V.L. knows I root for (in pretty equal measure) Detroit and Pittsburgh. I grew up in Flint, so the Red Wings are in my blood. My Penguins allegiance goes back to the Lemieux/Jagr days because those two played some beautiful hockey. I’ve stayed a fan ever since. However, I do love Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. There’s nothing quite like watching him tend a net.
Anyway, we made Caleb a Ranger because we wanted the bulk of the book set in upstate New York and Caleb needed to be able to get back to the team pretty easily. I couldn’t allow him to be on either of the other New York teams (with apologies to Islanders and Sabres fans). So, he’s a Ranger.
I hope you’ll pick up a copy of The Hockey Player’s Heartand enjoy the romance between Caleb and Aaron--as well as the hockey that gets played along the way!
Blurb:Hometown hero. Hockey superstar. Perfect boyfriend?
When hockey star Caleb Carter returns to his hometown to recover from an injury, the only thing he’s interested in is a little R & R. He never expects to run into his onetime crush at a grade school fund-raiser . Seeing Aaron Price hits him hard, like being checked into the boards. The attraction is still there, even after all these years, and Caleb decides to make a play for the schoolteacher. You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take, right?
Aaron has been burned by love before and can’t imagine what a celebrity like Caleb could possibly see in a guy like him. Their differences are just too great. But as Aaron spends more time with Caleb, he begins to wonder if he might have what it takes to win the hockey player’s heart.

MM Goodness Book Review - Wild Trail (Clean Slate Ranch #1) by A.M. Arthur

Amazon
Phew! Phew! And phew again! My gosh this book is a hot one and I loved it to bits.
Mix one city boy with one gruff cowboy and stir well. What you end up with is a wonderful, sexy start to what looks to be an amazing series. The author wove the story perfectly, dropping in compelling pasts for our leading men, realistic dialog, a fine mystery, and appealing secondary characters.
Wes and Mack were a great pairing. The romance was nicely paced, the sexual attraction vibrant, and the sex itself was close to melting the cover of my Kindle. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Arthur brings us next. Make sure you grab a copy of Wild Trail as soon as possible and spend some time at the Clean Slate Ranch. You will not be sorry!

Tuesday Tales - Picture Prompt
It`s time for Tuesday Tales.

Today we have a snippet from Overtime which is book #4 in the Cayuga Cougars series. In today’s snippet Sander March, our storyteller, meets one of the two men who will steal his heart. The scene takes place at a sports banquet for Twin Tiers athletes.
This week is our picture prompt and all snippets must be 300 words or thereabouts.
This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

The dining room was vast, filled with tables all done up in red and white and people in suits and cocktail dresses. One side was lined with buffet tables and the rich smells of garlic and coffee filled the dry air. “If you’re interested in the woman in the blue dress, she’s not on the market.”I glanced to my right and got a smile that could shame the moon from a man almost too beautiful for words. Dark brown hair with all kinds of curls, deep brown eyes, skin the color of creamed coffee, and a playful dimple. He was an inch or two taller than my six feet, lean, with long arms and legs. Probably about my age of twenty-six or close to that. “She’s not my type,” I dully replied, hoping that I could tug my gaze from those soulful chocolate eyes of his before it became obvious I was staring. “Too old?” He stepped closer, our shoulders brushing. “Too female.”“Oh.” He leaned in a little closer, the pressure of his arm growing against mine. “I like older women and hot green-eyed men in suits who forgo that old tie makes the suit mantra.”“Shit.” How had I forgotten my tie?“The look works for you. Mateo Castillo. I play centerfield for the Elmira Egrets.”“Sander March. Baseball huh?” I took the offered hand and shook it. A nice warm sizzle happened when skin met skin. “Yeah, minor league, double A. And you play what?” Mateo still had my hand. “Hockey, up in Cayuga.” I tugged free and got a sassy wink from the centerfielder. “Not sure why I’m here to be honest.”“Yeah? Do you suck?” Okay, now that could be taken as a come-on or as a slam if one didn’t catch the glimmer of mischief in his eye. “No, actually, I’m leading my division in goals and am tied with my winger for assists.” A couple sauntered by, nodded, and then continued to the buffet tables. “Then that’s why you’re here. They must have seen you play. Want to grab some food and a table?” I could see that people were now starting to move toward the buffet tables. “We can sit and talk sports until we both lose and go home all sad and dejected.”

Tuesday Tales - Twig
It`s time for Tuesday Tales.

Today we have one last snippet from Last Defense, Harrisburg Railers #5, an MM hockey romance book coauthored with RJ Scott. Next week I’ll have a new book rolling so as RJ and I will have finished with this story. Our word prompt today is “Twig”. This scene takes place after something rather traumatic happens. What that is remains a secret until the book comes out on 5/16. *wink*
This story may have gay erotic scenes, strong social issues addressed and mature language. If those things offend now is the time to move onto another Tuesday Tales blog. Thanks for stopping by!

“Ben, I’ll be right here. You’ll be safe. Sleep.” He ran his fingers along my jaw. Bucky licked my face. Max turned off the light and pulled the drapes shut. I vaguely heard him calling to the dog. That was all I remembered. I think Max woke me up to swallow some pills. Then there was heat on both sides of me: man on the left and dog on the right. Nothing much wiggled in after that. When I woke up I was facing my dog. “Hey, Winter Soldier.” I reached out to pet him and grimaced. Ouch. Man, flesh wounds hurt big time. Bucky leaped down from the bed, ran in circles while barking, and then jumped back up while I was slowly working on sitting up. I heard someone heavy coming up the stairs. Max flew into the room like Satan was nipping on his heels, beautiful eyes wide. “Why is he barking?” Max asked. Bucky yipped a greeting to my lover then flopped down next to me. “He’s happy I woke up, I guess.” Max’s entire body exhaled in relief. “Scared me. I thought…well, I thought something had happened or someone--,” he shook that off, looking brittle as a dry twig. “Not important. You look better.”“Yeah, I feel better, I guess.” I glanced at the clock beside the bed. It was five after five. No wonder I felt rested. “You want something to eat?” “In a bit. Now I want a shower and a toothbrush.” I pushed to my feet and Max was right there. “I’m good. Really. It’s just a flesh wound,” I said in my best Monty Python manner. He wrapped me into a hug that I stayed in for a long, long time. Bucky snuffled at our legs, doing his best to wiggle in between us. “Silly pooch,” Max smiled, reaching down to scratch Bucky behind an ear. “Go shower. Dinner’s covered. We’ll eat and then we’ll talk.”“I love you.” I just wanted to say it because it needed said. Often. Every day, hell every hour if possible.“I love you too.” He kissed my brow then padded off, Bucky opting to stay with me as I showered and pulled on some clean briefs, shorts, and a soft tank top. Lowering and raising my arm hurt. I was not action hero material, I guess. When I stepped into my tiny kitchen a big man was putting plates on the table. Just two plates but my gosh there had to be twenty casserole dishes scattered over the counters. I threw Max a befuddled look. He shrugged. “The Rose of Beulah congregation has been busy.” “Well I guess so,” I murmured as I studied the pans of lasagna, chicken casserole, tuna casserole, red beans and rice, and macaroni and cheese. Pies and cakes were stacked up by the coffee pot which, praise be to Jesus, was full of fresh coffee.

Hat Trick of Questions

Before we leap into the questioning and answering, I'd like to thank everyone who’s been dropping by the blog over the years, reading, and commenting. You all are truly the best!
So, let's get right into the first hat trick of questions for the new year!
What's your writing schedule for 2018?
In one word: mildly insane. Oh, that’s two words. Well, they both fit so we’ll run with them. Those two words also fit my release schedule for the upcoming year. Looking ahead I have six books that will take precedence. Three are collaboration books with Rj Scott and three are solo books.
The books with Rj are:
Railers #6 (Title TBD) Ryker (Owatanna U. #1) A Holiday Railers/Owatanna U Crossover (Title TBD)
The solo novels are:
Overtime (Cayuga Cougars #4)One on One (Cayuga Cougars #5) Touch of a Yellow Sun (Colors of Love #2)
I imagine that I’ll be working on the Colors of Love books once the six above are completed, if I don’t get steamrolled with an idea that needs to be written RIGHT NOW!
Will we see more Cayuga Cougar books after One on One?
Probably not. That’s not to say that we won’t maybe see Vic and Dan or August and Sal again, but that series will conclude with book #5. I will miss that team terribly but its time to move on and tell new tales.
If you could spend a week in the world of a famous book series written by another author which world would you choose?
Oh boy, this is tough! There are so many wonderful series out there that I enjoy. Do I reallyhave to pick only one?
My lusty side wants me to choose the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. I’ve been reading those sexy Caldwell boys since Dark Lovercame out, and I plan to keep going as long as the WARDen keeps writing them. #TeamQhuinnAndBlay #GotToRepMyBoyVToo
My fantasy side wants me to pick the world of Percy Jackson. My love of Greek mythology is old and well known. It would be amazing to hang out with Percy and the gang, get to chill with the gods (ARES!!) and maybe fight a few mythological monsters at Camp Half Blood.
Then again, some time at Hogwarts would darn cool. Ugh! This is too hard!
Do you have any questions for me? Feel free to leave them in the comments section and I’ll answer them next time around!
