Weekly Update

Holla party people! Ok, maybe not so much of a party at the moment. We've had sickness and allergies beating down the Self household this week so it has not been fun times. Add to that meet the teacher night and I was ready for the weekend YESTERDAY. So there's RL updates now on to the stuff I know you really want to hear about...
...BOOK 2, Kieran's Novella and other stuff!
Did you notice there's a new page on the blog? This has all the extras (except for teases since they're in or will be in a book) that I've written since the One released. The extras are either linked to the original post or imbeded with scribd or both. Check them out if you haven't. There are alt povs, interviews, and even a book review.
...Book News
Ok so if you don't already know the title for book two, it's called the Key--no surprise there for those of you who've read the One. I DO have a title for Kieran's story but no matter how much you beg I shan't tell you! It will be revealed, along with the cover and blurb, in early October. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for details and of course, the weekly teaser.
Speaking of Facebook I so, so appreciate all of you who have requested to be my friend and ask that you not be offended if I don't accept. I use that profile mainly for personal updates for family and friends and want to continue to make sure their privacy and that of my children is protected. If/As I get to know some of y'all on a more personal level I will totally revisit my friend requests. All book updates will always be posted on my author page as well as tweeted.
Next--CONTEST!!! Tomorrow as I'm mailing out goodies to giveaway winners I will be picking up the last couple things I need for the art contest prizes--yes PRIZES because I'm asking you to do something HUGE and I want to show my super duper appreciation (as much as my budget allows anyway). I will post the contest with all the information on Friday so look for it if you are artistic or know someone who is!
FINALLY, in case I haven't said it before Thank you thank you thank you to all of you who have bought the book, who have read the book, who have reviewed the book, who have forced friends to buy the book... ;) Your support of me as an author means I get to avoid a "real" job and have tons of hours to pump out words instead of stealing time where available, which means you get books faster. ;) Y'all are awesome!! TY.
Peace.
PS. Do y'all like the weekly update? Should I keep doing it? Comment yes or no either here or on FB :) THX!!

Expected Release Early 2013Ten Tiny Breaths

But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.
Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair. But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgivable past of his own, one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.
Author Bio:Born in small-town Ontario, Kathleen published her first book at the age of six with the help of her elementary school librarian and a box of crayons. She is a voracious reader and the farthest thing from a genre-snob, loving everything from High Fantasy to Chick Lit. Kathleen currently resides in a quaint small town outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and an exhausting brood of four-legged creatures.
Isn't it gorgeous?! Her covers are always fantastic and you can win a print copy of it when it releases! See the deets below.

Weekly Update!

So this should come as no surprise but this weeks update is mostly about the Decatur Bookfest! I got there Friday EARLY, like 9:30am in ATL and around 11am to Stone Mountain not expecting to be able to get into my room since official check in wasn't until 3pm. Thankfully the Hampton Inn out there rocked and my room was ready. They'd also be serving popcorn and fresh baked cookies at 5pm. What? Totally awesome.
That evening I drove to Marietta for a small event with about 10 other authors. My table was next to J.L. Bryan's (author of the Jenny Pox Series). He's good at writing creepy so grab the FREE first book if you like a bit of terror with your read.

Saturday morning we hit the fest nice and early (please note sarcasm) to get set up. I had the BEST

:(
fantastic Heather from SupaGurl Books and Book Tours booth hopping between all the Indies and taking care of us too.

I got to meet for the first time Brittni from Britt's Kick-Butt Blog and Michelle (whom I'd been chatting with on twitter) from Literati Literature Lovers. She had us pose for her:

I also got to meet/see again some pretty incredible authors. I count myself fortunate to be able to call them friends.

Back L-R: Georgia Cates, Courtney Cole, Amy Bartol, M. Leighton, Fisher Amelie But the best part of the festival I didn't even THINK to take pictures of until the Younger asked about it Sunday morning. So here are a couple of the lovely peeps who got my book. A big huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to see us. It was SO MUCH FUN getting to meet readers and chat books.

We wrapped up DBF at the Brickstore Pub where we got the AMAZING news that M. Leighton had hot the NYT list at #34 with her new adult book The Wild Ones! It was spectacular to be able to toast this amazing lady and in the celebration with her. LOVE YOU MICHELLE!!!

Finally! Congrats to Makayla who won the signed copy of the One for posting reviews and a huge, ginormous thanks to all who posted reviews!! There's a reason for all the review requests you see from authors and one day I'll do a post to explain it all...well explain it the best I can. I'm soooooo a Lib. Arts Major ;)
Peace!

Cover Reveal: Blood Doll by Georgia Cates

WHOOHOOO cover reveal time! And y'all. I'm so excited to bring you this one. I met Georgia at the UtopYa conference in Nashville this summer and get to share a table with her at Decatur Bookfest NEXT WEEK!! She is a fabulous lady so it makes me extra happy to be able to reveal her cover for the third book in The Vampire Agape Series. Here it is!

The Blood Jewel is enshrouded with mystery, but one fact is known. There’s never been blood more desirable or addicting than Avery’s and there are consequences for any vampire that drinks it...including Solomon Alexander. Although he adamantly denies his need to feed from her, Avery suspects he’s lying but she has secrets of her own about the night he drank from her. She wanted him to and now she finds herself being drawn to Solomon in a way she shouldn't. As Avery’s desire to be closer to Solomon grows, she finds herself considering something more dangerous than being found by the dangerous covens hunting her...asking Solomon if she can become his Blood Doll.
Author Bio:
Georgia resides in rural Mississippi with her wonderful husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful daughters. She spent thirteen years as a labor and delivery nurse before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author.
Blood of Anteros, Book One in The Vampire Agápe Series, was her first novel and it was released in September 2011. She decided to briefly step away from the paranormal genre to try her hand at a young adult contemporary romance when she wrote Going Under, but returned to the paranormal romance platform to complete the second book in The Vampire Agápe Series, Blood Jewel.
Her current works in progress are Shallow (A Going Under Novel) which will release on September 27th and Blood Doll (The Vampire Agápe Series #3), to be released in January 2013.

Who is that (un)Masked man?
Ok, readers! I am in desperate need of some help. I frequently get asked what I think the guys from the One look like. I've found Liam, who the lovely Val at Stuck in Books will get to reveal whenever she's ready. She's currently enjoying some solo time with him.
So I MAY have found the perfect Chase. There's just one problem. I need to see his face close-up and I have NO idea who the guy is. I found him through a friend's facebook and it seems no one can recall where the pic originated from or who the guy is.
This is where you come in and I'm throwing in a bit of a contest. The first person to correctly identify the hottie in the link will get bookmarks and postcards. Comment with the name of the guy and any links of him you find!
So get to it you fabulous people! FIND CHASE!!
