Here's Where Your Next Barkada After-School Hangout Should Be
We spoke to Paolo Paraiso of Backyard Kitchen + Brew to get to know this farm-to-table resto at the UP Town Center. "We purchase our supplies from small local farms and suppliers in nearby provinces to ensure fresh and somehow organic ingredients for food," he shares. The restaurant is called Backyard, because of the very Pinoy tradition of setting up a family gathering in the backyard. Whether it's someone's birthday or just a spur-of-the-moment inuman session of your kuya and his barkada, the backyard is where people come together. "So that translates to the look of the restaurant—things we usally see in our backyard. Recycled things, lots of wood," Paolo explains.
...To My Wonder Woman, My Mom
Looking back, there’s really only one person who has been there for me throughout my life’s entirety, and that’s you, mom. It took me a long while to realize it—a lot of instances where I was humiliated and in denial—but you are just the perfect fit for the description. Through thick and thin, you were there. Truly, you are the best-est friend I could ever have.
...From Our Readers: You are the Glass of Milk I Spilled
When I was younger, people would come up to me and cry over everything. My girlfriend broke up with me. I lost my phone. I failed my test. My dog died. And I know these things are totally difficult for the people who are in the actual situation, but my response never changed: Do not cry over spilled milk. You never get your milk back when it's already all over the floor probably with germs and cooties. You never get it back even when you cry a whole bucket of tears and feel your heart crumbling into so many pieces. Nope, not a chance. So, never cry over milk that has already been spilled. That's what I would say.
...5 Water Sports and Where to Try Them
Want to experience something new the next time you go on vacation? Have a go at a water sport you haven't tried before. You don't necessarily have to be adventurous in order to enjoy these water-themed activities, so take your friends or family members with you and have a great time at one of these provinces.
Surfing in Baler
If you want to learn how to surf (and surf properly!), head to Baler. Located in Eastern Luzon facing the Pacific Ocean, Baler is a prime spot for surfing because this is where the waves and the tide meet. The journey to Baler is an adventure on its own, taking around five to six hours by bus, but the surfing experience and the view are definitely worth the long travel time.

From Our Readers: Thank You For Our Little Infinity
Sometimes people walk into your life and then nothing is ever the same. You were one of those people to me. When you and I met, I knew. I knew that we, in some kind of weird way, connected with each other. We just hit it off straight off the bat. Partners in crime. We spent so much time together, people started thinking we liked each other. Back then, what I felt for you was completely platonic. I'd tell all our friends for the nth time that, "No, I don't have feelings for her. That would be weird." Or when the teasing became too much, "Stop it, you're making me feel uncomfortable." But maybe I did like you even then. When I was with you and felt happier than I ever did. I should have known. Maybe it was the fact that you were in a relationship that stopped me from entertaining my feelings for you. But as time passed by, we grew distant. No more running together along the hallways, no more talks about how our day went, no more eye contact, no more inside jokes, no more anything. I would've done anything at the drop of a hat to get back what we used to have. Whatever that was.

...From Our Readers: When the Time is Right
To My Young Love,
Older people say we're both too young to be in love. Maybe we're too young to be in a relationship, but I think we're never too young to feel love and to be in love. And I'm sure that the love we had was not just any ordinary love. It's not the kind of love that easily diminishes as time continues to tick by because our love has flourished beautifully as we got older.
