5 Things You Missed Today (January 21)
On the Wings of Love star Nadine Lustre is game to audition for the role of Darna. In an interview with PEP.ph, the actress said, "Gusto ko, but I am not sure if I am ready." However, she said that if ever she'll get the offer to audition, she'll work hard and prepare for it. And why not, she's backed up by her supporters and even her love team James Reid. When asked why he thinks Nadine should be the next Darna, her OTWOL co-star replied, "Number one, she's Pinay. Two, she has the physique, and she can demonstrate power because that's what Darna is all about." Love it! (via PEP.ph)

Name: Ela B. Heraña
Age: 16
City: Marikina
School: St. Paul University Quezon City
My style. I would describe my style as a combination of everything. I do try to keep up with trends. I am very much into black, grey, white, and sometimes a hint of a bright colors. I just wear what I feel like & what I want.
Shopping faves. I like the SM Department Store, Forever 21, and H&M. It's the best affordable fashion stores for every style.
Style icons. That would be Jenn Im and Kendall & Kylie Jenner. They are very stylish and bold in their own unique ways.
Style influence. My style is very much influenced by celebrities, bloggers, YouTubers like Amanda Steele, Maddi Bragg, Nathalie Paris, etc. Being from Manila, I'm definitely in a very fashionable environment, which means great exposure to the latest styles–so I think that my hometown has also influenced my style.
Closet colors. Neutral colors, primarily black and white.
Fave accessory. Baseball caps! Caps are an easy and stylish way to cover up a bad hair day, so it's a win-win situation.
Never wearing. Bedazzled jeans. They are the worst! I don't like glitter, jewels, sparkles and all that on jeans.
Trendy return. Babydoll dresses to add a little girly touch to my wardrobe.
Best bargain. Denim jacket that I got for only P40. Super cute and very comfortable to wear! Definitely a 10/...
What If High School Musical Was Set in the Philippines?
A winter wonderland NYE party wouldn't be possible here, so Troy and Gabriela would've met out of town, maybe in Subic or Tagaytay. But the karaoke and fireworks would still be part of their meet cute for sure!
As much as we love Troy's floppy bangs, he'd have a Zayn-like top knot, which wouldn't be so bad because hello, this is Zac Efron. Dude can pull off anything—even a hair trend that can look like a sad siomai on the wrong head!
East High School = Mataas na Paaralan ng Silangan
The school grounds wouldn't be full of students happy to be back on their first day of school; instead it would be jam-packed with school service vans, private cars, Ubers, and GrabTaxis, and everyone would be late for class.
Two words: School uniform.
Instead of getting detention, students caught with their cellphones in class would be forced to clean the classroom after school.
The cafeteria would be much smaller and messier. (Where do the students get food anyway? Is there another floor where they keep all the food?)
Also, the lockers would be vandalized beyond recognition. Sharpay's pink locker wouldn’t last a day.
"Evaporate, tall person!" = "Maglaho ka, higante!"
Instead of strudels and scones, Zeke would know how to bake pandesal and ensaymada.
Troy would probably wear his basketball jersey and/or shorts everywhere and no one would call him out or tease him because 1) he's a really sweet guy, and 2) he's too cool to care anyway.

7 Things To Consider Before Giving People A Second Chance This Year
2016 means new beginnings–new relationships, new friendships, new memories, and new adventures. This is your time to shed off old skin and be reborn into the person that you've always wanted to be. But how can you move on to the future, if bits and pieces of your past insist on reappearing? Specifically, what do you do if an old flame returns with new promises?
Before jumping into anything, take a walk and get a breather as you mull over these 7 essential thoughts.
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
When you meet someone who entices your senses and creates flashes of electricity through your veins, you will feel as if you've been lit up. You feel the thunder inside of you, buzzing with adrenaline and the possibility of something absolutely wonderful amidst risk. But once you let this overpower you, you might find yourself struck by the force of it all and unable to recover. Despite this, you still might bounce back and choose to try it–the feelings, the threat, the everything–again. Anyway, lighting never strikes in the same place right? Though then again, there's a first for everything.
Idea vs. Person.
Once you've latched on to someone, your heart has a funny habit of amplifying every single good trait about that person. And although it's always good to look at the positive side of everything, this tendecy will make you fall prey to tunnel-vision thinking and blindness in terms of rationality. You end up creating an exaggerated version of the person to cater to your personal fantasies, and this image that you've conjured up is what you eventually fall for. Before giving anyone a second chance, stop for a second and think: Who do I want? The person or the idea?
Perspective of both sides.
Deciding whether or not to give someone a second chance is a battle between the head and heart. When faced with conflicts like this, our feelings tend to cloud our judgement thus leading us to act on impulse. Learn to find the balance; this way, your instinct will never outweigh your intelligence.
Realistic expectations.
It's natural to agree to give someone/something another shot under new, revised-since-the past terms; it's just right that you know that you deserve to have a certain standard for your friendships that will not be tolerated if disregarded. But telepathy and mind-reading is a feat that only really exists in movies and fiction–even with the best communication skills, you still don't know what ulterior motives (if any) are hiding up your person's sleeves. Can you manage a compromise? Or will it be a dealbreaker if they can't strictly comply?

And although we are two completely different people, we've managed to become good friends.
We were just good friends.

...From Our Readers: I'll Stop Trying If You Don't Want Me Anymore
I don't mind the feeling of uncertainty at all.
One day you act as if you notice me, then I counter react (as something that I usually do when I'm around you) and that always turns my whole world upside down. The next day, you act as if I'm just a mere speck of your very own world, where I don't exist at all and we're strangers in the same tides of the sea. Actually, it bugs me out pretty much but by just existing, just by knowing the name that you'll live by till ages, by just breathing the same air in the same distance approximately 10 inches away, tells me that this is the spot I'd rather take than be in a separate scene where there's no you in it.
...From Our Readers: To the One I'm Finally Letting Go Of
I have experienced a period of detachment from almost everyone around me after he left me and I think it's a good thing. Because in the detachment, I found myself. I was enlightened by realizations that I wasn't able to see when his angelic and contagious smile was clouding my thinking.
I got to travel to the lands of what-ifs to the oceans of I-know-I-tried. I do have friends, yes. And I'm grateful for every single one of them because they've filled spaces in me. But I just find my mind wandering into some place that even if I'm alone, I'm totally okay. I found peace in the solitude brought about by the breaking I hear inside of me.
...5 Things You Missed Today (January 20)
A source confirmed that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have indeed gotten back together. According to the report, they've rekindled their love for each other when the pop singer paid a friendly visit to Liam and his family while they were on vacation in Australia. What's even more romantic, according to the source, is that she never really wanted to end things with The Hunger Games star. "Miley is where she has wanted to be for the past two years. Back with Liam and very happy. Miley never wanted to split. Things just got so bad that they really needed the break." Aww, we're just happy for these two. (via People.com)
