My goodness.... The lastest chapter of Assistant verse had me both intrigued and incredibly shook. I need Desi to figure out how to get away from Vaughn. Stat.

Thank you! Unfortunately, Desi getting away from Vaughn would mean the end of the story, and we’re not quite there yet. ;-) But I can assure you that Desi doesn’t plan on going gently into that good night!

Hello, i love your writing and would like to support you on Patreon. I noticed the pledge is custom and there's no tier. (sorry, i've never used patreon before). What would you suggest as a good amount to pledge?

Thank you for your interest! The tier thing is something that’s about to change, actually.

Historically, I’ve used Patreon to share exclusive extra stories with my patrons, for any pledge amount. Going forward, that will still be the case. But I’m also in the process of designing tiers that will include extra rewards!

So basically, once I implement the tier system, the $1 tier will be the same as it’s always been, with access to all the same stories. (Now with regularly scheduled updates!) The bonus content will start at the $5 tier.

I’m rolling out these changes gradually over the next few weeks, so please feel free to pledge a dollar for now and catch up on the stories. Then when the tier system goes into effect, you can take a look and see if you want to change your pledge. I have a lot of fun ideas I’ve been brainstorming with my patrons!

Now that I’m in a decent position financial wise, I’ve become a patron! It isn’t much money, but I do plan on upgrading to a higher amount soon. I adore your writing so much!

Yay, thank you! I hope you enjoy the new stories. You joined at a great time, because I’m in the midst of implementing a bunch of improvements to my Patreon community, including regularly scheduled updates (starting tomorrow!) and extra bonus content soon to come!

Do you know Lisa Henry's novels? It's just really random that I love your novels and hers and you both have books with Riptide.

I’m not familiar with her work, no! I might have to check it out once I’ve got a bit more free time. ;-)

what did levi major in at college? actually, how was levi in college in general before the attack? i feel like he was the complete opposite of who he was.

Actually, Levi before the attack was pretty similar to who he is now - just physically frail, less intense, and without the anger and trust issues. He was still focused, reserved, pretty introverted, and a little blunt.

What the attack did was take those basic personality traits and turn their intensity dial up to eleven. So bluntness escalated to abrasiveness, for example, and reservation became an overwhelming discomfort with emotional intimacy.

As Levi told Dominic in Kill Game, part of him had always wanted to be a detective, but he hadn’t thought that was a realistic goal for himself. His parents wanted him to be a lawyer, so he was studying political science at Princeton, planning to continue on to law school afterward. He kept the same major after the attack, though of course he no longer had any intention of studying law!

Hi! I'm a big fans of the SoS series and I just wanted to ask if there's an audio book in the plans?

There’s an audiobook for Kill Game on Audible, but as for the rest of the series, I have no idea! I haven’t heard anything from Riptide about future audio books being in the works. A direct message to them might get you a more thorough response, though. Thanks for asking!

Sunday Update

I didn’t quite meet my word count goal for A Chip and a Chair, as I had a few difficult days in the middle of the week. I caught up a bit over the weekend, though, and I have the next fight scene pretty well choreographed, so the actual writing should proceed smoothly.

On the Patreon front, I’ve been having some great brainstorming with patrons about possible bonuses/rewards for membership, and my new official Patreon update schedule is the 5th and 20th of every month. That means the Assistant ‘verse will have an update this Thursday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! <3

Hi, how many books are there in Seven of Spades series?

Five! The next book, A Chip and a Chair, will be the series finale.

OER was so fantastic and ratcheted up the tension for the last book so perfectly! Seeing Levi and Dominic at odds with each other was so much fun but also made me so relieved when they made up. As we see slightly less of him, I had a couple specific questi

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Dominic came out to his family privately in high school, which he had no concerns about because he knew they’d be 100% accepting. After high school, he started living a little more openly, but after that one semester of community college, he enlisted in the Army - and that was when Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was still in effect. So for eight years, he was in that weird limbo of not being able to be officially “out” even though all of the people close to him knew he was gay. Once he was discharged, he really embraced his freedom to be open about his sexuality.

Dominic’s physique was directly inspired by Dwayne Johnson! Pictures of him will give you a good idea of how I imagine Dominic from the neck down. ;-)
