Random Thoughts From This Week

1. Thank you SO much for all the well wishes this week. I was so overwhelmed with all of your support. I honestly have the best writer friends EVER!

2. I was thinking about cover art for my book ... What do you guys like about covers? Personally, I like people on them. But I guess it just depends on the cover and the book. I hate it when a person is on the cover and they don't resemble the description of the character in the book. Huge pet peeve of mine. What do you guys like/not like? And am I weird for being nervous to see my cover when the time comes?

3. It's snowing. And freezing. Where the heck is Spring?!

4. I seriously can't stop eating Cadbury Mini Eggs. I've already gone through like three bags. This baby is gonna LOVE chocolate! Haha. :) What is your favorite Easter candy? Don't say Peeps... PLEASE don't say Peeps...

5. I'm loving Pinterest lately. I've pinned so many awesome inspirational pictures. Pictures help so much with my writing and ideas. I love finding more. And I have a LOT. :) If you're on there, find me! My profile is under my name. And I suggest you try it. Try finding pictures that go along with your ideas. It's a wonderful help. ;)

Have an awesome weekend everyone! I'll be back more regularly next week!

My BIG News. :)

I honestly never thought I'd write this post. But here I am, my fingers shaking, palms sweating, a huge smile on my face.

Let me start at the beginning. Well, a few weeks back I guess. As you all know, I parted ways with my agent at the beginning of this month. Well, a few weeks later, I decided to submit my Fairy Tale book to a few small publishers I'd heard good things about. I couldn't shake the feeling that my book was good enough to sell. I got three publishers to request the full within hours. I didn't really expect that, but I was excited. So, fast forward two days later. I got an offer for not just Fairy Tale, but the sequel as well. TWO BOOKS! They wanted TWO! I got another offer a few days later from a different press, that I politely declined and received the nicest rejection I've ever gotten from the third publisher.

So, it's official now. Last night I accepted the two book offer from Crescent Moon Press. I've heard great things about them and am SO excited to be joining their group of talented authors!

I've had such a crazy journey with this book. Full of ups and downs. And you know what? A small publisher is exactly what I need right now. With my young family, there is no way I could go on big book tours the big publishers do. Especially with a baby coming in the fall. I'm so happy there are so many options for writers now and am SO thankful Crescent Moon is taking a chance on me.

I can't believe I'm actually going to hold my book in my hands. I knew my book was different. I knew it was fun and quirky and serious at the same time. If that makes any sense. I also knew it needed to fit in with a publisher who understood how special and different it was. And Crescent Moon loves it. That's all that matters. And I can't wait to share it with you guys. You might not love it, but I can dream, right? ;)

Anyway, thank you SO much to all of you for believing in me. You guys are the ones who inspire me to keep going. Thank you for that. You have no idea how much your comments and kind words mean to me.

So, bottom line. Never, EVER give up.

*grins* :)

I write because...

I love it.
It's an escape into a different world with my some of my best friends.
It's one of the only ways I can express myself without feeling like a total moron.
I love spending time with my characters.
I love making up new worlds.
I want to share my stories with others.
It's a passion of mine I didn't know existed until I finished my first manuscript.
I would go crazy if I couldn't write.
It's a part of me.
I can't imagine my life without it. :)

Why do you write?

Books I'm Dying to Read!

Hello to my new followers! There are 500 of you now. Holy crap. That's a lot. And totally awesome! :D

Oh how I love books. I have so many I'm looking forward to reading this year. Here are a few from my ever growing pile. ;)

I HAD to do a shout-out to Jolene Perry, since I was able to read an earlier draft of this. This book was awesome. And heartbreaking. And romantic. It comes out May 1 from Tribute Books. Read it. :)

Shawn is the guy Ronnie Bird promised her life to at the age of fourteen. He's her soul mate. He's more uptight every day, but it's not his fault. His family life is stressful, and she's adding to it. She just needs to be more understanding, and he'll start to be the boy she fell in love with. She won't give up on someone she's loved for so long. Luke is her best friend, and the guy she hangs with to watch girlie movies in her large blanketopias. He's the guy she can confide in before she even goes to her girlfriends, and the guy who she's playing opposite in Romeo and Juliet. Now her chest flutters every time he gets too close. This is new. Is Ronnie falling for him? Or is Juliet? The lines are getting blurry, but leaving one guy for another is not something that a girl like Ronnie does. Shawn's outbursts are starting to give her bruises, and Luke's heart breaks as Ronnie remains torn. While her thoughts and feelings swirl around the lines between friendship and forever, she's about to lose them both.

I LOVE this series. Probably in my top five series of all time. Can't wait for this book. If you haven't read Hex Hall, go read it. It is seriously hilarious, clever and romantic as well! I love the main character Sophie. She's one of my favorite voices in YA. This book comes out March 13! On my 9 year anniversary! Hubby best be pre-ordering this for me soon! :D

No blurb because it's the last book in the Hex hall Series. :)

This last book looks fantastic. I've heard nothing but awesome things about it. Can't wait to read it! It's out May 1st! :D And look at that cover. Beautiful.

Tenderhearted Southern girl, Anna Whitt, was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage, and her will-power is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.A cross-country trip forces Anna to face the reality that hope and love are not options for her kind. Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Yay for books!!!
