Good News and Contests!
I had a great week and weekend spending time with the fam. The hubby had three days off, so we had so much to do. The kids had a blast! I'm always sad when holiday's are over. :P Back to reality! :)
I have some good news to share. My friend Rebecca Taylor just signed a 2 book deal with my publisher! Head over to her blog and tell her congrats! :D Her book sounds awesome.
Also, there is an agent contest going on called Christmas in July, and the window to submit queries ends today! Here is the link. If you have a finished book and awesome query, go over and submit! Good luck to everyone!!
How was your weekend? Any good news you want to share? How is your writing going?

Cover Reveal for Karma Bites!
So ... Nyrae Dawn and I are with the same publisher and I'm SO excited to share her cover with you today.
Drumroll please!
"Whoever said, 'parents are always right' really should have thought that one through. After all, my mom believes in vampires. Go figure."
All Abigail Thompson ever wanted was to be considered normal. Instead, she ended up a loner with a vampire–obsessed mom and a stamp labeling her the resident freak of Karma, California. When bad boy Caleb Evans saves Abby from a mean girl attack straight out of a “B” movie, Abby’s own karma starts to improve. Maybe “normal” could become her way of life, after all. But Caleb isn’t the only boy to notice her. Once newcomer Gabriel Chambers becomes Abby’s new best friend, she finds herself trapped between two boys, both holding secrets. And when Abby learns sometimes things really do go bump in the night, she discovers one of those secrets could just get her killed.
Isn't it awesome? :D I love it! Release date is August 15th! Be sure to add it to your Goodreads list! :)

Random Thoughts From This Week
1. All of these fires around Utah and Colorado are so scary. They've made me hold my family tighter and I'm so grateful for everything that I have. I hope the fires get put out quickly. There are a lot of people being affected. :(
2. I'm 30 weeks pregnant. YAY! My doctor said I'm measuring a week early, so I'm crossing my fingers that she'll change my due date. ;) I'm so happy I'm almost done. Then I'll finally feel like myself again.
3. I've noticed a lot of bloggers slowing down this summer. Which is a good thing. You should be out playing while school is out! Just have some fun. It's nice to take some time off and not worry about posting every day. Have you guys done anything fun this summer already?
4. I got my bookmarks this week in the mail. I love them. Sure they're homemade, but I think they're cute! And it makes this whole book coming out in a month seem so much more real. I'm getting excited, but super nervous for people to read it. I guess that's normal though.
5. My writing has slowed down lately. It will pick back up when the baby is born. I'm about 1/3 into my Fairy Tale sequel, so that's awesome. I also have several projects that need attention but I've learned I can't focus on just one thing when I'm not feeling great. So ... we'll decide what craves my attention in a few months.
Have a great weekend!

Overwhelmed
I've been trying to decide on a good blogging schedule that works for me. I think I've decided to narrow it down to posting on Monday's and Friday's. Monday's will be things like books I'm reading, books coming out from authors I know, writing and stuff like that. Friday's will be my random thoughts, as they normally were. :)
In between planning a book release, being sick every day and approaching my baby's due date ... (Beginning of September) I've realized I've gotten a little overwhelmed. I promise I'm not neglecting you guys. I just can't do it all right now. BUT, this new blogging schedule should help me find a little balance and hopefully I won't worry about everything anymore. I read an amazing post on why authors tend to fall behind in blogging and everything by Michelle Davidson Argyle. It was very thoughtful and I think everyone feels this way sometimes. You should take the time to read it. It's VERY true and a lot of what I'm feeling.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good week!

How to Plan a Book Launch
1. Get excited! Yay! My book's coming out! :D
2. Invite people. Yay! Everyone!
3. Realize people are actually coming. Uh ... now what?
4. Freak out because you have no idea how to do a launch party.
5. Look for swag, give away stuff, party things, food. People like stuff like that. I hope.
6. Spend hours on Pinterest, but don't actually use any of the ideas because you're too lazy and pregnant to be creative.
7. Freak out again when you realize you'll be 9 months pregnant at the release party.
8. Settle down because you know you can sit down the whole time. Hopefully. Maybe.
9. Freak out again when you realize you have to sign something clever in each of your books.
10. Repeat steps 1-9...
Yes. I'm having a release party. I'll let you know when I get my pregnant brain under control! LOL This is so crazy, but I'm so excited!!
For all you Utah peeps, it's August 25th in West Point at the Schneiter's Bluff Golf Course Club House, from 6-8. If you can't make it, I'm also having a blog tour. Since I'm having my baby in September, it will most likely be in October. Perfect timing, right? Ha ha. :)

Surreal
Wow! What an awesome weekend. I was SO overwhelmed with all of the sweet comments I received on Friday. You guys are so awesome and supportive! Thanks to everyone who posted my cover on their blogs, facebooked it, tweeted it and shared it in some way. I am so grateful to you guys helping me get the word out. :)
This book is my baby. It's the third book I ever wrote, but the first one where I really felt like a real writer. It's different, (obviously, judging by the fairy on the cover), fun and I can honestly say I've never read another book like it. That's one of the big reasons I didn't give up on it.
I never thought I'd be at this point. I never thought I'd actually get a book cover or plan a launch party or hold my own book in my hands. It's so crazy how things work out sometimes.
So, what to do in the meantime? Write. I'm working on my sequel and hopefully will have it finished in a few months. I have several other ideas I'm dying to write as well. I want to make a career out of this. Maybe. I can hope. And not like a millionaire with books that everyone loves. I write for me. If people like my book, that will be awesome. Hopefully at least a few of you will. :)
Have you ever NOTgiven up on something and had it work out?
Also: My fabulous friend Crystal designed my blog. If you need a blog makeover, she's AWESOME! She's also an amazing photographer. Check out her blog, here. ;)

Cover Reveal!!
I really have no words to describe what I felt when I saw my book cover for the first time. I've dreamed about it, thought about it since I wrote the book, and honestly I am so pleased with how it turned out. It fits my book perfectly. It's such a strange feeling, knowing my book will be out there for anyone to read. It's exciting, scary, and surreal. Anyway, enough of my rambling. I love my cover and hope you guys do too. :)
I knew I wanted Ash, my main character on the cover and I love what they did with him! His arms folded, the blue wand in his hand. His wings. Oh, the wings. I LOVE THEM! Okay, enough of that. lol :)
My release date is August 1! So close it's insane! Thank you so much for sticking with me through this crazy journey of mine. I'm hoping this is just the beginning! Thanks to Crescent Moon Press for a fabulous cover, and thanks to all of you who shared my cover on your blogs today. You guys are AWESOME!!
Now I get to spend the beginning of my birthday weekend at the dentist. Woo hoo! :) Have a great weekend!

About My Book... Well, my WIP. :)
So, my CP and friend, Leigh Covington posted a fun meme about her book today about her WIP. Then she asked everyone else to do it. Normally I don't do them because my brain never works to think of awesome answers, but I thought this one looked fun. :)1. What is the name of your book?THE GAME (working title)2. Where did the idea for your book come from? You know, I'm not really sure... I guess I watched Pirates of the Caribbean a few months ago and it sort of came from that...3. In what genre would you classify your book?YA Time Travel4. If you had to pick actors to play your characters in a movie rendition, who would you choose?Captain Raine: Penn BadgleyEmmy: Ellen PageTy: Austin Butler5. Give us a one-sentence synopsis of your book.Six teens are thrown into a dangerous game of time travel to find a magical artifact, and the one who finds it is the only one who can return home.
(That was a little lame, but hey, I only had two seconds to think of it...)6. Is your book already published/represented?Nope. Writing the first draft right now. :)7. How long did it take you to write your book?I'm hoping I'll be ready to query by the end of this year.8. What other books within your genre would you compare it to? Or, readers of which books would enjoy yours?Uh ... I have no idea. If you like pirates you might like it. ;) 9. Which authors inspired you to write this book?I wanted to write something different than my usual paranormal and contemporary fantasy. So, this was the result. I don't know of any authors that inspired me for this particular book, but maybe I'll think of one later.10. Tell us anything that might pique our interest in your book.Time travel, nasty pirates, a handsome privateer and a race to get home? Is that good enough? I can't think of another way to explain it! Ha ha! If anyone wants to do this, let me know! I'd love to see what you're working on! Or you can just leave it in the comments. :)
