Be successful at being faithful

We are not called to be successful,

but faithful!

How to be unshakable

I have set the Lord always before me,

because he is at my right hand,

I shall not be shaken.

Love one another

Don’t think I ever heard Jesus say…

Love your Neighbors…unless they are homeless..

Love your Neighbors…unless they are undocumented.

Love your Neighbors…unless they are different.

Love your Neighbors…unless they are not Christian.

Love your Neighbors…unless they are Muslim.

Love your Neighbors…unless they inconvenience you.

Love your Neighbors…unless they are Poor.

Love your Neighbors…unless they are asking for help.

I am constantly am seeing Christian brothers and sisters post things about things they don’t like and calling them “these people” as if they are repulsive. It is a way of dehumanizing others.

Jesus never UNLESS he said LOVE.YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. – Mark 12:31

and he also said

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40.

So the next time you are rejecting “these people” think about who you are rejecting!!

Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,  I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’  Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’  Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” -Matthew 25:41-46

Trusting for Gods provision

Ever since graduating high school my daughter Maryjo  has been living in Boston and supporting herself by waitressing (not an easy job especially when she makes the minimum of under four dollars an hour).. She has done this this while taking five classes at a time and getting all A’s at UMass. I am super proud of her and would love to support her financially but unfortunately do not have the ability to do so in the way I would like.

She got accepted to a study abroad program and while she has worked hard to save for the extra costs, as she says “there was no way to prepare for my school granting a couple thousand less in scholarships this semester than every previous due to their climbing debt and consequent budget cuts.”

Her goal is to be able to speak the language so that she can ultimately use her law degree to help other who have no representation.

Thank you for reading this far. Please consider giving or as she said”if you can’t/don’t want to offer money, I am always accepting prayers and well wishes.”

God is for you

If you wanna know how far my love can go

Just how deep

Just how wide

If you wanna see how much you mean to me

Look at my hands

Look at my side

If you could count the times I’d say you are forgiven

It’s more than the drops in the ocean…

Open your heart it’s time that we start again

God is my Hope

I know You’re able and I know You can

Save through the fire with Your mighty hand

But even if You don’t

My hope is You alone

When God gives you a directive…

If you know that God loves you, you should never question a directive from Him.

It will always be right and best.

When He gives you a directive, you are not just to observe it, discuss it, or debate it.

You are to obey it.

Just say no

He would not permit the demons

to speak, because they knew him.

– Mark 1:34 (ESV)

How profound is that statement  He would not permit the demons to speak. Why  wouldn’t Jesus do so “because they knew him.”

As we are disciples of Jesus it follows that Satan and his demons also know who we are, how we think, where our weakness’s lay.

And because Satan is the father of lies, and is our enemy who wants to take us out at any cost, we need do as Jesus did and not permit him to speak his lies over us and our family

We need to say “No!” whenever he tries to tell us lies such as:

You will never control your eating.

You will never accomplish anything.

Your kids will never amount to anything.

Your marriage is doomed to fail.

Your business will fail.

Your stupid.

Your ugly.

You will never change.

God does not love you as much as her.

Just give up!

We need to keep a watch for the lies of the enemy and Just say no to them. Remember what the Bible tells us…

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

– James 4:7 (ESV)

Christianity is not a spectator sport. Be watchful, resist the enemy, and follow God’s leading and you will be amazed at where he leads you to.

Do-over table one

Sometimes you have to hand back to God all of your hopes and dreams for the life you wished you had so that He can give to you the life you deserve, which He has planned out for you from before you were even born. And, spoiler alert, is better than you could ever imagine!
