Fast Over: Work Going Again!

I ended my water fast on day fourteen. Now, with a bit of food, and no doubt all that healing and magical fastiness in play, I feel really good. I did a whole days work, and seem to be getting back on track that way. (Not that I'm done dieting and fasting yet. Not even close.)

Hopefully this means that I'll actually have a book coming out this month!

So this is a good thing. I was planning to go longer, but I got tired of feeling sick and weak. (I know, shocker!) I might try a long fast annually however, if this is a common response to it, as to how I feel, and if it lasts more than a day or two. I really forgot what it felt like to actually have energy.

Next up for experiments?
Sensory deprivation experiments. Coming soon. As in, next year some time.
That counts as soon. Right?

Fasting: Day Eleven

Just to remind people of the gist here, this is a water fast (which means you have only water) and not the softer kind of fast. It also isn't a dry fast, which is the hardest kind to manage. In that sort you don't even get the water.

I'm not going over this day by day, since the basic template is close to the same for each one. Past day three or four there is less hunger (though I get hungry at times still, sometimes intensely so) and each day is bringing a greater degree of lethargy.

Now, being bed to the bone, as you all no doubt know by now, and living life on the edge as I do, I haven't been doing a traditional fast. That would mean lying about in bed for up to twenty hours a day and cutting all but essential activities. The idea is to give over all the bodies resources to healing, but at this point I don't need a lot of that.
So I've been mildly active, working to keep my heart rate at under fifty to sixty percent of maximum most of the time. Since it's a lot harder to do that now,...

News Alert! (Not for real, just me being dramatic. I'll post it

Water fasting makes for slow writing. I know, news at eleven, but still...

(Day four of a fast. No, it isn't dangerous. I've actually done the research. Don't freak out until day ninety-seven...) The meditation is going well however.

On another note, that property has been finalized. So I own an extra five acres now. Let's see if I can make it do anything?

Also: If you have a chance to get in some extra food, and water, in the next bit here, you might want to think about that. Things are always coming. Pesky future.

That's what I have for today. I blame the hunger, personally. [image error]

Update on writing and life: 08/22/15

I have started the process to get the property next door! That is, I did all my signing and paid for it. The seller is in California, so should have everything signed and back by Monday or Tuesday.

That will give me just shy of nineteen acres to work with. The goal is to start a self-sufficient homestead type mini-farm. There's no water on the property, so I've been working on various forms of rain water collection, as well as dew collection from the air. (By working on, I mean thinking about. Not actually doing that yet.) I have the first ten test trees planted, to see if I can get them through the winter. So far so good!

On top of that, we're remodeling here, replacing the two garage doors with large windows. One of the two, the smaller, is already finished. (Or very nearly.) Next week will be all about the other one and getting the wood stove ready for winter. (I also need to get wood in, but even though I have a lot on the property, I think I'll probably end up buying it. There just...

Strange Things About Me...

Alternate Realities, Writing and Possible Insanity.

When I write, I tend to experience the subject matter very realistically. Now, this isn't at the level that I totally lose contact with this reality or anything. Mostly. It is true that the effect is profound however. To a level that I often feel as if I'm observing an alternate reality, rather than simply making things up.
At first this idea bugged the heck out of me.
I mean, after all, think of what that would mean as to what I'm really doing. Copying, rather than inventing. That seems like a second tier thing, don't you think?
Now, I won't claim that I don't plan things out, or add portions to even long term stories that are meant to show up in later works. (If you haven't gotten that one yet... Well, I know that a lot of people don't link things that way, but it does exist, if you look for it...)
However, there is a certain real level effect...

Blog update: Star date zero seven, thirty one, fifteen...

No, I'm not writing the whole think like Captain Kirk. I wouldn't do that to you!

Now as most of you know, I'm not really from around these parts. To that end I've been planning to set up a sustainable forest garden on the property that I've been collecting. The goal is to make the whole property work for me, giving most or all of the food and energy resources needed to survive over the next fifty to one hundred and fifty years. (I'm an optimist.)
To that end I've been planting some trees as a test, to make sure I can start and grow fruit trees here. It's largely a pine forest, which means slightly acidic soil from the pine needles that drop over time. Fruit trees and most berry plants love that. So far so good, but the conditions here are a little cool right now, though the growing zone will ship upward, probably from six a to seven, over the next twenty years, or sooner.

Right now I have fourteen acres, but just started the process to purchase five acres that border the property, since...

Blog: Episode One, A Newer Hope...

The plan, and it is a pretty fun one, is for me to add real, and fairly high quality, content to this blog on a regular basis. To that end I plan to hit many of the highs and lows of writing, as well as topics that I'm interested in at the moment.

Right now that means hydroponics, dead fish, and the eventual demise of humanity on this world. That last one will probably be a bit quicker than most expect, so we're looking at some fun times to come! (Oh! Also El Nino. Because, come on... That's just fun times!) I'll probably also whine and kvetch about politics at some point. Don't worry, I'm remarkably mean to all sides on that one!
I'll also be doing some updates on what the current projects are.

UPDATE ON THE YOUNG ANCIENTS, SECOND CYCLE: BOOK 1 (and other stuff)...

Countess of Desire (Young Ancients, Erotic Moments)

The most intimate tale of how one woman broke the rebellion, and saved the King.

Maria Ward. Lover. Hedonist. Countess of one of the richest Counties in the Kingdom.

As a matter of honor, she must use everything at her disposal to break the back of the rebellion, no matter what the cost to herself or her love, her husband Count Ward. To save their honor, she’ll have to embark on a series of adventures that will take her to places few have ever gone. To do things that only the most imaginative would even dream of…

This, then, is the story of how she, with little more than her wits, and ability in the bed chamber, did exactly that.

*Warning: This is an erotic novel based in the world of The Young Ancients. It has a highly charged and graphic sexual content. Reader discretion is advised.
