Update

All the kittens now have new homes.  I decided not to keep one because I was too busy at the moment.  It broke my heart but there you go.

The Sky Is Falling is now about a third complete.  It's a very exhausting journey and the characters go through so many emotions.  I may not get it done in time for its August 1 release so now I'm just going to say it'll be finished (appropriately enough) by the fall.  I'm also buying another laptop.  Computers always seem to start playing up when you really need them the most.

My new series The Blood Dynasty is also something I'm now eager to finish.  I've always wanted to write something with vampires in and what I've wrote so far is really excellent.  Cryogenics and vampires and romance and red skies, it's got it all.

Competition winners!!!!!!!!

Forgive the many exclamation points. This is my first blog giveaway and I'm excited. The Hop Against Homophobia seems to have gone really well. I hope we got the message across to a lot of people. I certainly read a lot of interesting stories myself over the last few days.

Anyway, here are the winners!

Kaje
Kimberly
Kerry at Musings of a Bookworm
Foretta
NJ
HB
LM
Christy
Erika
Twisted

You'll receive your prize straight away! Well, when I've finished listening to Adam Lambert's new album for the fifth time anyway. If you didn't win a copy then don't despair; you can always buy it! I don't charge rip-off prices like the big authors do for ebooks.

Hop Against Homophobia

Hi everyone. My name is David L Dawson. I'm a writer and a reader. I joined Hop Against Homophobia because all kinds of discrimination should not be tolerated. I want to live in a society where people arent abused because of what they were born as. Yes, born as. People are born gay; I was born gay. There's nothing I can do about it. Not that I'd want to. I like who I am, even on the days when I'm depressed or fed up with the world.
http://hopagainsthomophobia.blogspot....

There was a man on This Morning a few weeks ago (This Morning is a UK morning show which goes out on week days) who claimed he could talk gay people, with therapy, into being straight. I'm sure brainwashing somebody straight probably does work. Brainwashing somebody into acting like a chicken or believing in god works too. Yet this man, who claimed he used to be gay himself (yeah, right), thinks he's doing something good. I could tell the presenters were absolutely appalled with the man. I felt very uncomfortable watching it, as did my Mum. The fact was this man tried to come across as all caring but really he probably made everyone watching think he was a bigoted idiot in denial over his own sexuality. Yet...there will be people watching who think he's talking sense, and this disturbs me even more. The very fact that they allowed this man on the programme in the first place disappoints me. They wouldn't allow a man on who can claim to cure people of being other minorities. Anyway, rant over.

I have a lovely giveaway for all you people reading this blog (not including you, Mum; I already downloaded it onto your Kindle for free.). I have ten copies of my young adult book The Fall up for grabs. It's a dystopian novel with a gay main character. It's for ages 13 and up so don't expect any graphic sex or anything. All you have to do win a copy in leave a message here, along with your email, preferred ebook format and I'll pick 10 out at random. The competition closes on midnight on 20th May. I'll choose the winners the day after and I'll send you them as soon as possible.
May the odds be ever in your favour!

Do you want to stamp out homophobia?

I've just signed up for the blog hop Hop Against Homophobia. There are hundreds of blogs taking part and lots of stuff up for grabs. Plus it's for a good cause, stamping out homophobia across the globe. If you want to check it out go to

http://hopagainsthomophobia.blogspot....

The project starts May 17th and finishes on the 20th.

I'll be blogging myself about the subject over the next few days and I'll be having a giveaway too. It's very exciting to part of something so grand.

The Single Mom Mystery

It was while watching the kittens abseil up the side of the play pen that my mother and i decided to do a book together. I'm not sure why; it just seemed like a good idea. So we came up with the idea of a single mom who lives on a council estate who investigates murders. I'm not sure whether I'll ever get around to writing it, what with writing three different things at the moment anyway, but I want to get my Mum involved in something. She doesn't go out, and her diabetes is starting to worry her, and I think this is something that can occupy her mind and unleash her creative side. We've already got a story planned out so who knows? It may become the next big thing!

Kitten giveaway

No, I'm not having a raffle on my blog where the prize is a kitten. I'd never forgive myself if they got lost in the post. We've found owners for all my kittens now. I'm very sad to see them go but they're going to good homes and that consoles me a little. Two of them have already gone to the mother's original owner (who turned up a few days ago and wanted her back but saw she had kittens so took some of the kittens instead). The remaining three are going to go to another house that adore cats and have an apple tree in their backyard for them to climb up. I freely admit I did have a little cry when the first kittens left. I'll miss them a lot. I'm not sure how I'll react when the final 3 go. These last ones are the most active of them all, and they love a good climb. I always like a quiet house, but when these kittens are gone I'll miss all the noise they make.
The mother is scheduled to be spayed next Friday. I can't go through with this again and I don't think she can either. I know they're only cats but it's heartbreaking to have to give them away when you know you can't afford to keep them.

There's an interview with yours truly on Ali's Bookshelf (a brilliant blog) tomorrow. There's also an article I've written on world building and a giveaway. So if you like free stuff pop on down. It's all part of her massive event; dystopian month.

Fringe - the best science fiction TV show ever?

After watching last night's episode of Fringe I realised to myself; this is the best science fiction TV show ever. I've always been a huge fan of Doctor Who, and I still am, but Fringe is just that little bit better. I'm so glad it's been given a final series of 13 episodes to finish the story off. Quite how I'd cope not knowing what happens to Olivia, Peter, Walter and Astrid is unbearable...
