Cover reveal for Virtually Lace

Haunted by discovering the body of Lace, a beautiful dancer whose throat has been slit, Michael sets out to create a virtual reality simulation of her murder. Can he bring the mystery to life? Can he solve its clues in time, before the killer turns on the woman he loves, Ashley?Suffering some memory loss due to a horrific incident in her own past, his girlfriend, Ash, is unable to identify her attacker. Despite the persistent fear, she helps the investigation and puts her life in danger. In a nail-biting twist, she draws out the man who killed Lace, so as to avenge her murder. Meanwhile, the cops treat Michael as their prime suspect for the crime. The only reason they haven’t arrested him yet is an urgent call for their assistance in a rescue, as Laguna Beach is engulfed in flames. On his way back to the murder scene, will Michael manage to slip away from the cops and save his sweetheart, before it’s too late? And will he get the murderer? In designing the cover, I wanted to bring together the virtual universe, as signified by the 0's and 1's in the top half of the cover, and the natural world, as signified by the ebbing of water in the bottom half. This way, the cover reflects the thoughts of my protagonist:
Even before Michael spotted the body, the idea of creating a simulation of the scene occurred to him. At sunset, the panoramic view of Laguna Beach was awe-inspiring. He wondered if he could render it convincingly in his model, the virtual reality model which he had been developing in the back of his garage for months, until the recent acquisition of his software by a military ops company. Could beauty be taken apart without loss of emotional impact? Could its data be synthesized, somehow, into a lifelike experience? In short, could he apply his analytical skills to fool his own senses?

A Father's Pain

Love this review for my Historical Fiction novel, The Edge of Revolt:

Aurora Dawn
5.0 out of 5 stars A Father's PainDecember 4, 2018
Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase This volume chronicles the clash between David's sons Amnon and Abselon with a poignancy that captures the pain and despair of a father as he watches his family fall apart. Poznansky weaves bits of biblical text with her own words as she spins this sad tale of one of the low points of the great biblical king's life. It's a tragedy of classical proportions full of pride, hubris and the inevitability of the fall.
A story you won't want to miss.

She was afraid of him. Afraid of falling for him.

He just watched her, waiting. She swallowed hard and narrowed the gap between them, stopping just a step away from him. The heat of his body warmed hers. That sandalwood scent hit her again, and those almost black eyes of his darkened even more.Shame caused her to pull away from that dark gaze of his. She stared at the floor. "I don't know why I do it. I'm sorry." An outright lie. She knew darn well why she did it. She was afraid of him. Afraid of falling for him. No matter how hard she tried to tell herself he was made from the same mold as her cheating ex-fiancé, she knew the truth. He wasn't. But telling herself that kept her from putting herself out there—risking another heartbreak. When there was still not a word from him, she drew in a deep breath, looked up, and met his gaze. His taut facial muscles loosened. His gaze softened with each passing moment. "Please, Bryce, just…"His lips silenced her words and his large hands cupped her cheeks, heating her skin. His flavor seeped into her. The kiss that started as urgent slowed, calmed, teased her to the brink of uncontrolled desire. He paused, lingered, and then returned to a soft, slow seducing pace. This guy knew how to kiss.

I discovered—mostly by feel—what lay buried in its core

The iron door banged shut behind us. After a while, the slam of boots against the floor, there on the other side, became softer. At last, it faded away.Locked up, we had no will to talk, no patience to listen. In exhaustion, each one of us turned away into himself. The boy curled in one corner, his friend in another. As for me, I paced back and forth, forth and back, trying to locate a spot where the darkness was lighter—finding none. Now, in the absence of sounds, the only thing I could hear was my heart, pounding. And the memory of her voice, her soft, musical voice. It started reverberating in my skull—but this time it came not in English, not even in French. “Schnell,” it said, echoing the directive of the SS officer. “Schnell.”A few steps to reach the wall. A turn. A few steps to reach back to where I started. A turn.Throughout this footslog, back and forth, forth and back, I must have been in a stupor. It took a while for me to realize that what I was clasping in my hand—that thing that Rochelle had given me—was merely a piece of plain bread, rolled into a ball. Looking at it disappointed me. After all, I had been hoping for something more potent from her: a secret weapon, a key to open the cell door, or else a poison pill to help me control my own destiny, instead of letting the Nazis call the shots. Over and over again I rolled the bread ball between with my fingers. It yielded to my touch. So spongy, so squashy, so utterly pliable. And it smelled so, so good. In spite of my hunger, I was determined not to put it in my mouth, not to suck on it or even take a lick. I closed my eyes, the better to imagine her fingers around it, her hand inside mine. I savored her touch, the touch that never was. It was enough to calm my nerves. How could I doubt my sweetheart? With my fate all but decided, I should relinquish any and all claims on her heart. After all, she had to take care of herself. Her mission was to think of her future, especially if I would not be there to share it. Yes, she had to go on.Just then, with a sudden grating noise, a slot was pried open at the bottom of the iron door, and a metal tray was slipped through it, directly onto the concrete floor. On it were three shallow bowls with thin, diluted soup that contained some unidentifiable globs of fat, swimming around a shapeless nibble of what used to be a potato. It smelled rotten, but that mattered little to me. I was famished. Starvation reduced me to an animal. I fell to my knees and lapped the bland liquid like a dog. Absentmindedly I took a bite of the ball of bread—only to realize that there was something there, carefully concealed. My hands trembled with excitement as I peeled the softened crust away from it, as I discovered—mostly by feel—what lay buried in its core: a piece of the lightest, thinnest crêpe paper I had ever touched. With great care I brushed off the remaining crumbs and unrolled the tissue, doing my utmost not to tear it, by accident. Then I lifted it to my eyes—but in the blackness that surrounded me I could barely identify the marks. My heart sank. In my present condition, there was no way I could decipher her message. What choice did I have but to wait, count the hours, the minutes until we would be taken out of this cell, into the light of day.A few steps to reach the wall. A turn. A few steps to reach back to where I started. A turn.

She shouldn’t try an escape

This morning, he had had his forearm pressed into her back, anchoring her to his car while he kicked at her legs, unfastened her pants, and yanked them down none to gently, making his point that she shouldn’t try an escape.
This evening, he was welcoming her into his arms to sleep.
He’d learned from the battlefield – things changed in the blink of an eye. Loyalties. Coalitions. Alliances were often made of the moment instead of any deep conviction. Though, Finley didn’t normally cozy up with criminal elements.
That’s an utter lie.
Just look at all the cozying up he had done when he was working undercover to take down the East Coast cell of the Zoric family last year. Not just cozying up with the women on that case, sleeping with them.
He’d paid the price, too. He’d let his heart get involved with Lacey Stewart, his asset, making him an A-number-one, moron scum bucket. It was a cardinal rule for undercover agents: Keep an emotional distance.
Finley was going to hell for the choices he’d made on that case. He wasn’t just paying a professional price for those choices - being anchored to his desk - he’d paid an emotional price, too.
Here was the question, though: If he was already bound for hell, why did he feel like such cad for sharing body heat with a prisoner? This was about survival.
Had to be the head injury.
Zelda moved forward and settled in against him. Pulling her legs to her chest, she tucked the blanket in securely to guard their heat.
“Good?” he asked.
“Yes, thank you.”
“We have problems,” Finley reminded her, smoothing down the flyaway strands of blonde that tickled his nose as she shifted around. She tipped her head to use his shoulder as a pillow.
Little mewling sounds came from under her breath, and he could feel a hot tear slip off her cheek and down his chest.
He held back the kiss he almost dropped into her hair. There it was, again – the squeeze of his heart and he knew he was in trouble.

Look through a peephole

Another crazy art project, inspired by a suggestion from the amazing artist and thinker, Chris Hero: I put a landscape with rolling hills, castle towers and a bridge inside a box. It's painted on the floor and inner walls. When you look at the box from any direction, the view would seem distorted. For example, the foremost stair of the bridge (which is painted on the floor of the box) seems grotesquely out of scale compared to the other stairs. But...

I invite you to look through the peephole at the front wall of the box. All falls into place, and the view magically becomes three-dimensional, because it is designed to look correct from here:

A Peek at BathshebaThe David Chronicles, Book 2By: Uvi PoznanskyNarrated by: Justin Harmer All That Glitters Overall  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️    5 out of 5 starsPerformance  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️    5 out of 5 starsStory              ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  5 out of 5 starsReviewed: 11-05-18In this second book of the David Chronicles, King David, now firmly ensconced on his throne, finally has everything he wanted, but things don't go exactly as he had imagined and, by the end of the book, he is older, wiser and much sadder than he was at the beginning.Told in Poznansky's distinctive style, the story is a lyrical delight, granting David a frank honesty the Old Testament never would have dared and interweaving brief passages of the original text with the author's eloquent, entrancing style. This is a David you won't find in the Bible and a kingdom that sometimes feels almost modern.
Well written and worth your time.

She did know that her life would forever be changed

*Barbara has a gift for reading someone by just focusing on their first name. Watch what happens when she meets Griffin for the first time...** Excerpt from Chasing Secrets by Alyssa RichardsHis hand closed around hers, its warmth comforting. Griffin… He was smart. Brilliant, maybe. Doggedly determined with everything he did. His stance was wide and confident, even though she had almost flattened him, he seemed unfazed. As if he dodged the dangerous and unexpected every day. He liked her, she knew. The signs were there.
There were flecks of distrust, uncertainty in those eyes the color of ice. He had loved too hard with that big heart of his, she suspected. Gotten left or trampled in the process. Still he showed up, open, trying.
“Are you here on vacation?” he asked.
“Yeah. I love the mountains.” She realized she had been quietly staring.
“Me, too. You picked a great spot, we have a lake out back, it’s perfect for swimming, boating and fishing. Plenty of hiking trails around and we have 250 waterfalls.”
“250?”
“More waterfalls here than any other county in the country. I’d be happy to show you around.”
She nodded before she knew she was even answering.
“Excellent. Do you hike?”
“Yeah, I do.” She couldn’t remember the last time she had taken a hike, but suddenly she was ready to reclaim that interest.
“I could show you a few of the trails and introduce you to the area, if you like?”
“I'd like that," she said, following his lead, trying to show up as well.
“Or maybe a swim if you’re tired from traveling.”
She shrugged, feeling a smile tug at the corners of her mouth. "Either one.”
“Perfect. How about I come back around four?”
She glanced at her wrist and realized she wasn't wearing her watch. “That’d be great.”
He nodded and put his hat on. His smile was so wide and gracious it made her grin in return. “It’s a date, then.”
A surprising kick of adrenaline spread through her stomach. “It’s a date,” she finally said.
She watched after him until he disappeared into the woods. The effect of him lingered, like a scent. Maybe it was because she had left the last of her grief on the dirt path that led her to this place. Or maybe it was something unique about him. She couldn’t explain why. But she did know that her life would forever be changed for having met him.
