The risk is even greater now that she’s gone
Vlad takes a deep breath, and his chest swells with pride. “Like the Russian proverb says, if you're afraid of wolves, don't go to the woods.”
Mrs. Komarov pokes him with a sharp nail. “The wolves are coming. They are coming for you, because the air is heavy with the smell of blood.”
He shrinks like a punctured balloon, air rushing out of his mouth. “Ah, nonsense!”
“What exactly have you done to Linda?”
“Nothing worth talking about.”
Mrs. Komarov clicks her tongue. “While alive, she posed a risk for our business, and the risk is even greater now that she’s gone.”
He lowers his eyes, stares at his hands. “Talking about her is a waste of time.”

One way for Vlad to avoid paying the price for his crimes is to play dead; another is to play dying. For Ash, this not a game. He slips away from the hospital in a body bag placed in a refrigerator truck, then develops a brazen fraud scheme that will bilk health insurance companies out of millions of dollars, rob her of her identity, and drive other victims to suicide.
Will Ash manage to stay one step ahead of his gang and at the same time, protect her loved ones from contagion?

Cover reveal for Overdue
The cover depicts Ash as she escapes the fire she set in the LA headquarters of the Russian gang. My art is storytelling. In many thrillers you have the protagonist as a figure seen from the back, running away as if being chased or chasing. By contrast, I show Ash coming towards us, nearly falling into our arms, so we can directly relate to the daring it takes to do what she does in spite of the fear.
I also gave a lot of thought to making each part of this cover shimmer with texture and light, creating an explosive, dynamic urban backdrop for her.
Here is the excerpt describing the scene:

Michael and I make our way through hissing smoke to save the old woman. We peer at the scene between one tongue of fire and another. A hairy leg is spotted here, an arm there, and on occasion—Voola—a snake, tattooed around an elbow.
I suck in a deep breath and duck through the flame in search of Mrs. Komarov. I’m guided by her frantic shrieks as a burning beam has collapsed next to her. I cover her head loosely with Linda’s black sweater to protect her from the smoke. We grab her arms and drag her together step by step out to the street, where an ambulance has just arrived.
We carry her past the cops who surround the place and past the firefighters who are setting up their equipment. The old woman complains, her voice scratchy from smoke inhalation, about the stinging in her eyes. Medics arrive. They treat Michael and me for injuries and apply medication over a burn on her leg to relieve the pain.
Strangely, the one person missing through all of this is her son.
For a second, I think I see him across the street, watching us. A sudden rush of adrenaline sends me dashing over there, ready to cry out for the cops—only to realize there’s no one there. What I saw must have been a phantom of imagination, a dance of flames. Vlad is a master at escaping justice. Has he done it again?

A struggle for love
A wonderful review for The Music of Us:

Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2020
Verified PurchaseThis is a brilliantly written saga of two people who are as different as night and day, yet mysteriously and miraculously drawn to each other. As the story unfolds more and more obstacles are put in the way of their ever being together. It was love at first sight, but they don't know that the feeling is shared because they are kept apart by circumstances and an over-protective parent.Music somehow keeps them together, if not physically, in spirit. World War Two creates some challenges and ultimately causes a lack of complete trust. Nevertheless, love endures and wins out. Tragedy in the story comes and goes, and there is a most surprising ending.

Overdose is the third audiobook in the Ash Suspense Thriller series. Although it is a stand alone book, listeners will understand the nuances in the plot more fully if they have listened to the other two books in the series, especially book one. In the first book, the heroine, Ash, is treated by a doctor, who is portrayed as unremarkable and somewhat clueless. He plays a minor role in book one. In this book, number three, Doctor Patel is definitely not a dull character. The doctor has a whole other side to him that I didn't see coming! It left my assumptions in the dust. Are you one of those people who put physicians on a pedestal or someone who tends to be somewhat mistrustful and skeptical about the medical opinions of the doctors you encounter? You may never view your doctors in the same way again! Overdose has a fast paced storyline, which will keep listeners awaiting what will happen next. It has intricate characters and delves into what has shaped their lives. I appreciate the logic in the plot, which is well thought out. This sells the story for me and makes everything so believable. The descriptions of Indian cuisine and culture appeal to the senses. I love how the plot is so unique! This audiobook by Uvi Poznansky is well-written! The narrator, Heather Jane Hogan, does a phenomenal job with the voices of the various characters, as well as her delivery of the story.

This moving collection of poetry and prose may best be appreciated when listened to rather than read—and then, while rocked back in a comfortable chair with eyes closed or during a long cross-country drive with time to ponder and wonder. “Home” is about relationships and longing—relationships to people and places long past, and longing for ways to heal, understand, and restore connection. It is a revealing journey by poet/writer/artist Uvi Poznansky into the life of her father though the posthumous discovery and translation of his unpublished poetry. Zeev Kachel’s verses explore the meaning of “home” through the lens of a life of loss and displacement, a life one senses may have at times in his later years trapped him in a dark place clouded by memories of war, impermanence, and the terrors of a Nazi death camp. In her own writing, his daughter seeks to enter that dark place, understand how it shaped him and her family’s understanding of home, and determine what home now means in her own life. Though the book description states that Uvi’s writing is rarely autobiographical, this work often seems deeply personal, exploring her own sense of loss and dark places and how one can survive the challenges of aging, separation, and loss. As with all well-crafted literature, “Home” invites us along on that journey. Kathy Bell Denton’s deeply moving narration needs to be listened to with ample time to pause, reflect, and consider the fragile but precious gift of “home.”

There’s no reason why I should tiptoe my way back but I do, out of fear.
My pulse is hammering in my ears as I swing away from the car and take my first step across the road. There’s no reason why I should tiptoe my way back—after all, the so-called Dr. Patel is expecting me—but I do, out of fear.
With every footfall, I tell myself that it’ll be all right. Nothing bad will happen to me. My boyfriend will watch over me. Even if I find myself in some kind of trouble, he’ll see it on his cellphone and call the police at once. Yes, it’ll be all right. As I pass under the lamppost, steps come rasping over the asphalt behind me. Here comes a tap on my shoulder. I turn around. Michael looks pale, but somehow he manages a faint smile.“Wait,” he breathes, handing me a pair of my elegant high-heels, which he must have found in the back of his car. “You must look your part. Better change into these.”Standing on one foot, then the other, I take off my ballerina flats. “You make me feel like Cinderella, only in reverse.”My attempt at humor is a bit clunky, but we both laugh. Nervously.Despite being aware of how dangerous Kabir is, Michael makes no attempt to stop me. Nor does he even warn me against going forward with this ill-advised date. Saving our friend, Karishma, is now our top concern. It has overridden both his caution and mine.He wraps my shoulders with my red scarf. “Scared?”“Who, me? Of course not,” I say. Both of us know that’s a lie.He kisses me, long, hard, desperate, as if that’s our last moment together. “My mother used to say, ‘If your path demands that you go through hell, walk like you own it.’”“That’s what I’ll do.”Another kiss, and he sinks back into the shadows.

Months after recovering from coma, Ash discovers that the man who performed her brain surgery has a questionable medical experience and a dark past. Should she expose him, at the risk of becoming vulnerable to his revenge?

"This is my favorite medical thriller out of the series... Once I started reading it, I finished it in one day because I couldn't wait to see who the true owner of the pink cell phone was and why it was worth a waitress getting shot over." - B.J. Robingson, Author
There she was, her beautiful head crowned with algae, her delicate throat cut, oozing blood.
Common wisdom suggests that the killer always comes back to the murder scene, because of an urge to relive the thrill—morbid as it might be—of taking a life. Michael felt a similar urge, but he told himself it was for purely analytical reasons, so he might study every detail and plug it into his computer simulation, in search for clues.
His cellphone and the attached miniature omnidirectional camera had sunk in the waves at the murder scene. At this point, he assumed they were lost to him. But he was determined to recover something else left behind: his shoes. His good pair of shoes, to be exact. How could he have forgotten all about them, until now? Last night he had tossed them away, so as to move barefoot over the pebbles and into the shallow water, where the body lay atop the rocks.
Because of the shock, he had only a vague memory of his way up the trail back to his car. Now, the last thing he needed was for those shoes to fall into the cops’ hands, to be examined for traces of his DNA.
He could just imagine them—the shoes, not the cops—wrapped in two little plastic bags, one marked ‘exhibit F’ and the other ‘exhibit G.’ Finding them in time was a pressing task. It was time to go back to Laguna Beach.
By noontime, the veil of morning fog lay in shreds. Out of it emerged gray cliffs. The ocean sprawled at their feet in endless recoil. One breaker after another turned upon itself and, reduced to shallow silence, rolled its froth backwards from the shore. A flock of gulls camped on top of the rock formation. They seemed to be contemplating the scene with a patient indifference.
Michael took out the seashell he had bought from the little girl last night and lifted it to his ear. What was that sound, inside? A hiss? No, it was the faint wheeze of the surge. It emanated from the inner passage of the shell, and along with a pungent scent of seaweed and decay, brought back the memory of the body. There she was, her beautiful head crowned with algae, her delicate throat cut, oozing blood.

I really enjoyed this series! Each book is a stand alone suspense thriller. All have plenty of action, as well as twists and turns. One of the things that I like the most about this series is author Uvi Poznansky's ability to turn what could be mundane, ordinary events into exciting adventures. In book one, Coma, who knew that being in a coma and coming out of it could be such an interesting adventure? In book two, Overkill, the heroine, Ash is hoping to get back to leading a normal life, but more adventures come her way. The surprises in the plot kept me eagerly listening. In book three, Overdose, just when listeners think that the doctor who treated Ash during her coma was clueless and mediocre, his character comes to life. His disturbing personality is revealed. The narrator, Heather Jane Hogan, does an excellent job. Her voice has the perfect amount of excitement. I liked her portrayal of the various characters' voices. I will definitely want to listen to other books in this series!
