More stories elsewhere

I've pointed out some other places (Medium being the big one) but here's a short story , and here's something I did concerning Baldwin's Stranger in the Village and the global village today. Check them out and let me know what you're thinking.

Still working on what's next

But I've also got a lot of sticks in the fire or fingers in pies or whatever the hell the proper phraseology is. So I highly recommend you head over to Medium where I have a few new things for you. Oh, yeah and you should sign up and clap as much as possible. And never forget that
"Pocket Full of Hope" is photo-poem. Part of the newer style I'm trying. Hoping to convey as much emotion and as possible, you see. It is, ultimately, a risk, but I hope it's a risk you can enjoy/like.
On that note, I've also written more and more political pieces, as you may or may not have heard (or like). Here is one on the North Korea situation and the banging of the war drums around it.   Finally, there's my essay on the Cascades and the effects of Climate Change in the northern reaches of our country. Of course, we are emotional creatures, and so even if we're aware of Climate Change we have our heuristics. So check it out and tell me what you think.

Of course, there is also the collection of shorts, 1000001American Nights , (also available in ebook forma t). The last story in the book is part of my latest attempt to become more poetic and I would love to know what you think. So buy it and share, of course!

Short Story out!

Been quite but working behind the scenes. I have had more and more pieces out, some at Medium and some at it's Complicated. Of course, check them out as they are about current issues.  Here's   "We're All Apes, Remain Vigilant". "Aging in a Time of Endless War"

On Statues
On Photos

But you should also check out the latest short story I have out here: "of dice and life".  It's a short but pretty piece and please you can share it where ever you can.  Enjoy!

Houston

Thoughts go out to Houston, of course. If you want, you should follow my Twitter handle @nlowhimthat covers this in a better fashion than this blog or other places of mine. Certainly a time to watch for each other and to come together and help one out. But the point is that the main issue here is about climate change and that such a focus (on dealing with floods, or pricing flood insurance so that people don't stay in certain places because they will only be hit harder in the future etc etc)  would be best because the world and nature will not wait for politics to catch up (should we be foolish enough to wait). People have talked about evacuation, and have not mentioned that the lack of choices for people (rail being the big one) was part of why an evacuation was not possible, How about we face at least that aspect? Your thoughts?

And to Barcelona

A lot of craziness out there. So thoughts to Barcelona. So it goes. So it goes. And not a leader in sight. Note that many of the explanations out there aren't worth a bucket of spit. I have some words on that, on this phenom of broken clocks .
And while I'm on that, also the vestiges of WWII
As well as who I read in times of distress. Disquiet. Whatever. James Baldwin is King .

Thoughts go out to Virginia Today.

Horrid day indeed. I should also note there's no hoping things will improve but rather working and taking action to make sure things like this don't happen again.

Here's a link to a bunch of my posts over at Intersections International.

First, a big thank you to Intersections International. It's a great group and they're the reason I've picked up writing more in essay form now. They're also the reason I'm not writing so much here. I'll try, certainly, but they offer a better way for me to get my stories out. They also have other veterans writing so I think that you should check it out. So go read some of my posts here
On that note, there are also some short stories (and a little longer than short) that I'm getting out at Medium . My handle there, btw, is @nlowhim just so you know. Thing is that you need the Medium app to read these specific stories, but they are worth it, IMO. They allow a certain amount of creativity for me, the author. So here's one that's starting up about a man searching for... something
While here is one about a man and the devil.
Meanwhile, t here are some more artistic ones here
And here.
Let me know what you think (is it better than an average post, reading it like this? It does allow me, the writer, more control, so I like that. If you want some post-modern writing in the form of a normal blog. Here's one. About a photo
As you can see, as per 1000001 American Nights , I'm leaning towards adding photos to tales and trying new things (for me, I suppose). If you buy the paperback, you'll be able to see the photo-tales and I would certainly like to know if that works on paper as well or better than when online. Let me know!

Seattle Poets

Not sure if you're from Seattle area, or interested in poetry, but I wanted to share this link with everyone . It's my first poem, so be nice. Nevertheless, this is an interesting piece to check out as there are many talented writers and poets out here. Check it out and, of course, sharing is caring!
