Deep edits beginning & free Friday snippet!
Yipperdoodles! Jeanie sent me Sylphline Realm – Royal Blood last night as she said she would. It was too late for me to really start in on it. I may not get much work done today either. I’m working on the paperback for Sylphline Realm – Crown of Ice which also happens to be where this snippet comes from. I can’t snippet ya from Mitosis because there is nowhere right now which doesn’t have spoilers. I may not be able to snippet much from this book. If that’s the case, my snippets will come fro...

[video] Want to get Royal Blood for free?
I feel bad for Cody. She’s suffering a lot of head issues from all the chemicals she’d drank before the explosion happened at the end of Cessation. She’s been knocked unconscious AND has issues with chemicals in the brain? Now that’s a load of fun, yeah?
Okay, today I am happy to announce that Sylphline Realm – Crown of Ice has been officially released!
[pause for happy dorky dance]
Okay, moving on.
By now you’re wondering what that title was about. Well, I thought about how you could get a c...

Sylphline Realm – Crown of Ice – Chapter 1
Who are you?
Kennedy stared at her brother for a fair amount of time. She didn’t know how, didn’t know why, but he wasn’t the same man. Beneath the laughter, a shadow of his former self reigned. A total stranger sat across from her. It’d been a while since they’d met up, maybe a good six months, but he couldn’t have changed that much.
He scanned the small café where they were having lunch for the umpteenth time. Over and over she wanted to let it go as her imagination. Surely she w...
Doing well so far & Free Friday Snippet
Today I put in a very decent 2,120 words in Mitosis. I’m very pleased with that. The story is flowing really well so far. I’m hoping that it’ll continue. Cody is struggling with her memories, but I think it has more to do with the chemicals she was drinking beforehand, than being knocked out.
Here is your snippet for today.
Sandy covered feet sunk into the sand in front of her. The feet had lost the shoes they’d worn, lost the socks as well. Or had been cast aside. But she recognized those f...

Off to a good start
Mitosis is off to a good start so far. My only plan when I went into it was the first scene in my head. And really, I didn’t even use what I originally planned on.
I knew Cody would wake up on the beach with no idea how she got there. That is the same as the beginning of Cessation where the story opens with her on the promenade and no clue how she got there. Only I didn’t have her wake up. The book ends up opening just like Cessation.
We are introduced to Cody on the beach with no idea how s...

Mitosis Word Count Tracker
[image error]
This post is where I will keep track of the daily word count for Mitosis, the second in The Alchemist series. Just finished Birth of a Princess yesterday. Today I spent the day working on the page for this book and this word count post. Tomorrow I will begin the actual writing. This story will pick up right where we left off with Cessation. Mayyyybe 10-30 minutes later. It will be fun, I’m excited to begin this one as it’s been gnawing at me for quite a bit, and I look forward to seeing if...

#FreebieFriday – Current WIP – Birth of a Princess
In my newsletter every Friday, I have been sharing snippets of my current writing project. Thought I’d give this a try for a while. I like to mix things up, so I don’t know if this is a permanent thing, but I keep trying to blog a bit more so here is yet another thing to try. This’ll cut back on how much I have to include in the newsletter, how long it takes me, and allow more people to sample my work.
Side note: I do so love Kylarra.

Biscuits and chocolate gravy
So total credit for the chocolate gravy in this goes to my good friend, Gary. He’d answered my Facebook question – who were your favorite relatives? and told me about this deliciousness. The recipe is modified to be for a single person except the chocolate gravy will still have extra. But I wanted to try this for lunch so I altered it all to be for just moi. And this will make a fairly decent-sized biscuit.

INGREDIENTS1/2 cup all purpose flour

Crown of Ice gone!
Sent off Crown of Ice to my editor on Friday, as I said I would. Today I’m beginning to input edits for Royal Blood, which is the second in the series. Technically in this particular series, they are one book separated into two. I ended up thinking I’d keep it as one book, but I’d reached halfway through the second book when it occurred to me that I needed to split it into two.
So in Crown of Ice there is a continuation marker into number 2. In some series I do have the books abruptly end and...

Lucy’s Baby Blanket – Crochet Project
I’m working on a new crochet blanket for Lucy (our 9 lbs Shih Tzu). My mom bought some yarn last year called Twinkle Stripes so I decided to make it into a simple baby blanket for Lucy-goose.
[image error]Subject in question far left. It’s a simple pattern I’m doing all on my own.
120 stitches starting chain.
Every even row is a single crochet through both loops.
[image error]Single crochet through both loopsEvery odd row is single crochet through back loop only.

So I did the chain of 120, then a row of sc both loo...
