Happiness is what you make it...
After yesterdays post about peace and coming to terms with the fact that I am tired of being something I'm not or being afraid of who I am I have decided to do something either very bold or very stupid. I'm going to post me. What I like and dislike. What I stand for and what I believe. If you don't like it then I'm sorry. You can unfollow me on twitter, you can unfriend me on facebook, and you can unsubscribe to this blog if you want. But I am past the point of fear and I only want those open minded to see my point, their own point and able to allow them to be the same or different.
So here goes nothing....
I am and forever will be a southern gal. I talk with a small accent on some words, and blush when you point them out to me. I don't like taking help from anyone and I may complain about what you tell me I'm doing wrong but give me a few minutes to a few hours and I'll fix it just like you said. I am stubborn and I make up my mind on certain things that you will not change for many years. I love animals and would live on a ranch if I could afford it. I complain about money being tight and over spend on food because it is yummy. I don't like chocolate, oreos, or beer but I love White Chocolate, Vanilla Oreos, and mixed drinks. I try to eat healthy as long as you don't count the portion sizes. I like 90% of fried food. (Never tried a fried snickers bar...not sure I ever will either.)
Camping, Hiking, and Nature calm me and make me feel tranquil with myself. I embrace earth bound religions. I love to learn about paganism and Indian cultures the most. I am not a Christian. However, I also don't live in some twisted evil way. I believe in Karma. And she will kick my butt. I believe in multiple Gods and Goddesses. I believe everything has a spirit. I also believe that no one should push a religion on anyone else and that we all are open to believe what we want. I won't condemn you for not believing my spirituality I expect you to not condemn me for not believing in yours.
I believe we should all have the freedom that each of us want. Yes I support Gay Marriage. If you don't support it then don't marry a gay person or if you're a preacher that doesn't support it don't marry a gay couple. I eat Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, and any other restaurant that serves something I want that day. I'm hungry and if my tummy wants chicken that is what I'm going to give it.
I listen to a huge range of music, and I dress in a huge range of random fashions. I don't care if you think my bell-bottoms are out of style or if listening to Rock on the same CD as Classical music is weird to you. If you don't like it don't do it. But don't tell me what I can and can not do.
I like sports but can't tell you the names of every player on every team or probably not even on my own teams I watch. I love playing sports randomly but only with people I know. I'm not a social person. I don't do clubs, or parties, or big events very well. I don't "meet new people" very easy either. And if I don't like you before I meet you just based on things people have said or past you have with others then you probably will never be my very best friend. However, I give everyone a chance to change my mind.
I don't watch TV or Movies that much. But I can play on the PC for hours doing nothing. I hate to clean but can't stand to let things get to dirty either. I try to do what I can for others and do so up until the point I can't stand helping the world with nobody saying thank you. I have my mental break down and then continue helping others.
I don't support Romney butt I'm not a fan of Obama either. I have dreams, thoughts, and wishes that may or may not ever come true. I normally have high expectations of my friends support that normally falls short on things I try to do. I get upset that people can't take 5 minutes sometime within a month to drop by and say hi but then feel bad for thinking someone should make time to talk to me.
I know I'm not perfect and I blame my depression for most of lack of's but one thing I know for sure is that I am me and I am tired of keeping around fake friends that only want to use me to boost their likes, sale their products, give them something for free, or even just so they can feel accomplished for having a lot of friends on their facebook, twitter or other sites.
The next week is full of change. My friends list is going to go down. My blog follows are going to go down. And I am going to start being true to myself.

Classics are still my favorite games
The allure of classic games still continues to grow stronger with every passing generation to the next. And no I'm not talking about a new copy of the game. Each generation likes the ORIGINAL version of the classic game in question. Such as Zelda, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers, and more.
No the graphics are not amazing for all you that question that before you buy a game. However, they are harder then a lot of current games, and there is NO LAG. They don't have to put a million things going on at one time to pull you in. It happens on its own. There are no cheat codes, though you can get a whistle in level 3 of Mario if you know the trick and in the castle.
Captivating is what Zelda has done from day one. The Legend of Zelda has grown over the years coming out with multiple games for the multiple Nintendo systems. However I find that everyone still enjoys the Original Zelda. There was no map to find that you could look and see where you was going. There was no sign or clue to what castle was what until you were in it. You had to find special things on your own and had to explore all the rooms in order to get to the next level. And IT WAS HARD!!! Simple yet you can play for hours.
Enjoy as the age of Video Games advance and alter their designs but don't forget what started it all and just how amazing it was to sit for hours in front of the tv and play them. Because to some of us that tend to spend most of our lives with a controller in our hands.... these classics continue to have the same amazing and alluring fascination from the day they hit the shelves.

SNEAK PEEK!!!!
‘Something’s wrong!’ Max gasped, sitting up in bed so quickly that the unexpected movement sent me over the bed’s edge. I caught my balance before I smashed onto the walnut parquet. We had dozed off about an hour ago. Outside, the sun had risen.Max was panting, his face filled with fear. ‘We’ve got to get out of here!’‘What’s going on?’ I yawned, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.‘They’re near! Pietro can hear them.’He had said ‘they’ with such abhorrence that it could only have meant one thing. He got to his feet, scrambling for his clothes that were scattered over the floor together with mine. I had never seen him this alarmed. The bedroom door flung open and Pietro and Sam barged into the room, both in the same frantic state as Max was.‘How did they find us?’ Max shrieked.‘I don’t know, but we must leave immediately!’ Pietro yelled. We left the house and darted toward the city center. The streets were deserted. Livorno was still asleep. In the morning sunlight, our legs were heavy, moving tediously slow while Pietro broadcast the thoughts of the advancing Brotherhood as they tracked where we ran-his voice without emotion. ‘There are four: two males, two females… They have entered the boulevard. Stand by for confirmation... They have turned right on Via Grande.’Then Pietro’s face twisted in horror. ‘Stop,’ he whispered, his voice shaking. ‘They’re here.’

MY REVIEW!!!!
The Paranormal aspect of this book was great. I LOVED LOVED LOVED (did I say that enough?) LOVED the "vampires". I was so happy to read about vampires that were not all lovey dovey passive. They are out for blood and I LOVED IT!!The Romance aspect well didn't really do it for me. The whole thing was a bit to fast and unrealistic for even a paranormal. So if you're into that then awesome. Me I'm not.
Over all the story did hold my attention and had some great adventure action scenes that kept me wanting to continue on in the story.

PEACE Blitz: What Peace do you desire the most?
Peace as define by Wikipedia:
Peace is a state of harmony characterized by the lack of violent conflict and the freedom from fear of violence.
Do you search for World Peace and the lack of war or do you search for Peace of Mind and the inner tranquil peace that is in yourself?
I recently had some events happen in my own life that sent my thought pattern into a rapid whirlwind of mixed feelings broken thoughts and lost dreams. But from that I also saw something in me blossom. Myself.
To many of us live in fear and stay in the shadows on what we like, feel, hear, and believe. We do this because we have a fear of judgement from others, we have a forever desire to be accepted by the masses. Even if you say you don't care you know on some level you do. But some of us are lucky as our thoughts are often the same as the masses for the area we live in. Growing up in Western North Carolina it was the masses that believed in being a Redneck and the love of guns and beer and hunting. Well I'm all for the tough life, hiking, camping, bon fires and pick up trucks but I don't like beer, guns scare me, and I don't hunt.
Then living in Central Fl it is busy life with starbucks, theme parks, and the heat. Well I enjoy FL. But Starbucks is over priced, theme parks are crowded and over priced, and I don't do well with extreme tempatures.
Coming to terms with the fact that I have many things I don't agree with or like that my friends like and I have things that we still have in common is what my whirlwind of thoughts concluded. I am tired of staying in the shadows and being worried that something will offend someone because honestly it will. I'm not afraid of someone "unfriending" me anymore over something I say because now I just laugh about it and wonder why someone like that was a friend anyway.
I've been called names, I've been deleted over my beliefs and as an Author that scared me. My whole platform is based on having friends and getting those friends to buy my book and getting those book buyers to tell others to buy my book. But the truth is I write my stories because I love to write. I publish my stories because I want others to be able to enjoy my stories.
The road may be long and it may be hard but the truth is that is my inner peace. The ability to lift the weight off my shoulders and know that my real friends are there. My real support will never go away. And I am loved.
This was my Inner Peace realization. Have you had yours?

Blog Tour: Freefall
Author BioI write, basically, because I just can’t help myself. I can't resist the challenge of taking the intriguing characters and storylines that pop into my head and fleshing them out into compelling manuscripts. Romantic suspense is a natural to me, because it allows me to combine my love of a good mystery with a passionate love story. It also lets me express my appreciation for the outdoors in the settings which I recreate on the page.
My first novel, heartbeats, is a story of romance and danger set against the background of busy Chicago and the quiet, rural cornfields of northern Illinois. heartbeats has garnered numerous awards, including RWA Golden Heart Finalist for Best Romantic Suspense Novel and Best First Book by First Coast Romance Writers.
In freefall, my second novel, danger and suspense are juxtaposed against the tranquilvalley of Sylvan Lake (fictitious) in the Kettle Moraine Forest and the sun-dappled waters ofDoor County, Wisconsin.
When I’m not sketching characters or working out plot problems, you might find meon the golf course working on my handicap. I also enjoy traveling around the country seekingout new settings for my novels with my husband and my empty nest puppies, Ginger andNikute.

Sneak Peek!!!
The pilot gazed off into the clear blue Midwestern sky for a final safetycheck to make sure no planes were coming in. Satisfied all was clear, hethrust the throttles forward.“Okay baby, here we go!”The plane’s powerful engines roared. The twin-engine Comanche startedto roll, slowly at first, and then quickly gained momentum. The pilot’s bloodraced as the ground flew past him. An excitement he found nowhere else coursedthrough his veins. He pulled back on the column, knew the moment the wheelsleft the ground, and smiled in wonder — no matter how many times he did this, the rush was always the same. The plane soared up past the terminal, up over the hangars and the landlockedcars in the parking lot below. As the Comanche gained altitude, the pilotmarveled at the sleek phenomenon of speed slowing down. Then all hell broke loose…

MY REVIEW!!!!!
I need the ability to add 1/2 a star as I would say it was a 3.5 but not high enough for the 4th star. Also before I begin my review I must warn that this book should be read by mature audience as some of the scenes described can get very steamy. I found the characters to be very well defined and unique in each their own way. Some characters would even surprise you. The bad guy isn't hard to figure out but that doesn't stop you from reading the rest of the story as you want to throw both Kate and Everett in a room and lock the door until they admit everything they hide from one another which isn't just feelings. A fairly easy read and enjoyable. A great addition to any mystery, suspense readers collection.

MY REVIEW
A woman who went through it now spends her time defending others so they don't have to. Strong. Courageous. Caring. Is recruited into something she questions once getting involved. This question is her down fall as it starts to spiral the rest of the events in the book. The book brings together many different people and shows a real web of how nice appearance people can be not so nice guys. It contains fear, love, hate, question, curiosity, crime, drugs, lose and hope.
A captivating read.

Blog Publicity Tour: Nadir
Aislinn, directed by circumstance to meet her past and future soul mate, Dylan Young, begins to understand the daunting task awaiting her. In order to save Earth, she and Dylan must open the portal, the celestial gateway that will allow salvation of Earth’s chosen. Facing opposition at every step from a world plunged into chaos, they have until midnight, December 31st, to reach their destination.
Book Excerpt:A harsh green shaft suddenly burst from the ceiling and aggressively chased the spheres into the corners of the room. They lurked silently in the shadows as if fearful of the hostile presence. It emitted a series of staccato clicking noises and a high-pitched whine that forced her to cover her ears. Before she could move away, the green shaft engulfed her with a bone chilling cold. Her teeth chattered from the contact, her skin pimpling with gooseflesh. Suddenly, a resonant humming pierced the silence. It rose from the dancing spheres that merged into one and formed a sinuous glowing orb. Pulsing like a spectral heartbeat, it hurdled toward her and surrounded her with a halo of pure, benevolent light.
Feeling safe once more, she removed her hands from her ears. The green beam reared abruptly and emitted a guttural hiss. Slowly it retreated as the orb forced it from the room. The dancing spheres converged joyfully on her. They whirled around her, touched her arms, face and legs, and then gradually reformed into the orb. It writhed sinuously as it transformed into a vaguely human shape.
She watched in awe. Never before had anything like this happened whenever the spheres appeared. Now that she thought about it, the spheres had always been there whenever she was upset or in distress. Their dancing antics and soothing serenade was all she ever experienced. They never appeared when she was calm and everything was fine. Now that she was in distress, it seemed as though her ordeal had disturbed her trusted companions as well.
The form materialized into a human silhouette. She watched transfixed and peered at the luminous shape. They must be angels, she thought. All this time I’ve been surrounded by heavenly bodies and never realized to what extent they influenced my life.
“Who are you?” she whispered.
A voice filled the room. Deep and vibrant, its warmth enveloped her and filled her with loving trust.
Aislinn—bearer of the light…
“I don’t understand. Who are you? Are you angels?”
If humanity could see us, they might conceive us as such. We are the Antiquitas, the ancient keepers of knowledge. Angels inhabit the realm beyond the living. We are not from there but from a place well known to you.
She reached to touch the apparition and grasped nothing but shifting air. A soft tingling sensation crept up her arm. It enveloped her hand and traveled through her body like a series of electrical impulses. “Why haven’t you shown yourself before?”
It was not necessary and we did not want to frighten you. Now, the time has come when we must appear and prepare you for the task ahead.
“Prepare me for what task?”
Aislinn, you must leave this place. It is unsafe. The elementals that would stop the fulfillment of your task will do anything to obtain that which you carry.
MY REVIEW!!!!
Excellent description of the world and devastation that the people now face after 26 years from book one EOS. But that is about all. You get small hints and clues that Aislinn's destiny is starting to unfold and take control. But nothing more. You have a few short pages and 90% of it is about the current condition of the world and the people left in it. But very nicely described and does give you a very clear picture and feel for how things have turned out over the 26 years. There is little to no need to read the first book as it doesn't really give you any information that you need to follow the second book.

SNEAK PEEK TIME!!!!! A bullet whizzed by Pavel’s arm and he took cover again. He noticed the direction it was coming from and pointed to it for the others’ benefit. He looked at Nick then nodded toward a wide pole adjacent to the dumpster he hid behind. He covered while Nick changed positions. Michaels stayed behind the bin while Pavel charged forward and snuck next to a van. Bullets dinged the front of the vehicle. With police officers covering her, Michaels moved up next to him from the other end of the dumpster she was behind. Everyone covered each other until they were able to get closer. Pavel looked at Michaels, who nodded to the back end of a van. He walked back and found Jackson on the ground, bloody.
Pavel immediately went to his side. Jackson was still alert and seemed to be in a lot of pain. He was breathing heavy and holding his side. Sweat was pouring down his temples and forehead.

This book is written so realistically you would think you were reading the story from a police report and news article itself. This story brings you down into the truth depth of a run down town filled with crimes from drugs up to murder and everything in between.
I know I will be reading this book again and again. Truly any suspense lover should have a copy of this. Easy connection to the well defined characters and easy flow through the fast paced and hard times of being on the tail of a murderer. You won't want to put this book down, I didn't.

Author BioAmy Gregory leads an incredibly active lifestyle in Kansas City with her husband and their three fantastic kids who keep them running in three very different directions. When she’s not rushing her oldest daughter to tumbling, her youngest daughter to music lessons, or sitting track-side watching her son practice motocross, she’s taking the few minutes in between to scribble the next pages in her Racing to Love series.
When asked, “When do you have time to write?” Amy Gregory giggles. “In bits and pieces,” she says.
Amy is known for her snarky, off the cuff sense of humor, which you’ll find shining through in the characters she’s created. Her debut novel, Racing to Love, Carter’s Treasure, is set for release June 7, 2012.
I’ve spent my whole life trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, and now I’ve finally found it. – Amy Gregory
Contemporary RomanceTitle: Racing to LoveAuthor: Amy Gregory
Date Published: 6/7/2012Publisher: Sapphire Publishing
Synopsis: From the outside, Molly West had everything, beauty, brains, and a career she’d retired from not once, but twice. Being in the limelight and in a sport that was male driven, she was often surrounded by men. She ignored first the boys, and as she got older, the men. Her cold shoulder and patented not a chance in hell look were usually enough to get her point across. Molly had no plans in changing what was a perfectly good system. That is until she walked into the pits.
Carter Sterling had traveled the racing circuit since he was a boy. He’d heard all the old standbys, She’s out there somewhere, love comes along when you least expect it. Good things come to those that… Yeah, he’d heard them all. The last place he expected to meet the love of his life was on a pro track. All she did was smile, and he knew, looking into her sapphire blue eyes, Molly West was his. Forever.
If it was only that easy. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he had a gripping feeling in him. An overwhelming need to protect her—a girl he’d just met. Carter had learned a long time ago that gut feelings are almost never wrong. Molly now held his heart in her hands, but it was going to take a lot more than just love to protect her from the past she thought she’d buried a long time ago.

SNEAK PEEK!!!!
They continued to walk back toward the pits, but he stopped when they were in the darkened hallway, just before they would have rounded the corner and been seen.
Molly’s heart sped.
He was still holding her hand, but turned to face her as he placed his other hand on her waist. She sucked in a breath when he stepped forward. Her first instinct was to be anxious, to cower back, but something in those ice blue eyes told her she didn’t have to be afraid.
When he had leaned in to kiss her when they were sitting on the track, she’d panicked. And then when he had started to move away, she’d panicked again—for a different reason entirely.
Those flip-flopping emotions were about to drive her crazy.
Now, in the dimmed corridor, Molly closed her eyes to catch her breath and to search for a decision. He’d been rubbing his thumb on her waist, but his movements stopped when her eyes dropped closed. The soothing strokes didn’t continue until she finally reopened her eyes and dragged her attention up his chest and past his Adam’s apple. She continued up until she locked her gaze with his. When she offered him a hesitant smile, he began stroking her again with a warm smile on his lips.
Staring down at her, he let go of her hand and skimmed the back of his over her cheek. She felt her heart thundering, her pulse racing when she ran her hands up his chest, feeling each and every rippled muscle. She’d never purposely touched a man like this before. Sure, she’d felt Brody’s muscles when she’d smacked him for one reason or another. Or when trying to push him off of her after he’d wrestled her to the ground being an ornery brother and all. But this? This was foreign.
Her eyes were back on her own fingers, taking everything in. She stopped at his heart and could feel it pounding hard beneath the soft cotton t-shirt.
“Just so you know…” he started in his slow, sexy voice.
She could tell he was waiting for eye contact again before continuing. “Yeah?” she whispered.
“I’m going to fall in love with you.”
MY REVIEW!!!!
Tough Girl, Hot Guy, Love, Trust, Suspense, Sweet and Caring. This has truly been one of the great reads for this summer. I warn you this book has an instant connection and follows more of the relationship between two people then giving you a blown out plot to keep on your toes. Although there are bits and pieces of action and suspense this is truly a book for those of a soft heart that are looking to go Awe more then they are looking to hold their breath for the outcome. Given that this was a very enjoyable read that had some great characters and motorcross (one of my favorite sports to watch). And it shows how you need to stand up for what you want rather then just obey everything you've always been told. You will never reach your dreams if you hide in the past shadows. After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College with a dual degree in Spanish and Government, Jean rose through the ranks of the insurance industry for twenty years before heeding her own heart and pursuing her passion for writing.
She grew up listening to the stories that elders recounted about the women in her family, and it is from these dominant, yet richly flawed matriarchs that she draws inspiration for her writing. In addition to “The Fruits Of Our Sins”, Jean has published two short stories, “Stella’s Silent World”, and “When The Bough Breaks”. She is also a featured author in “Sister To Sister, Black Women Speak To Young Black Girls.”
Jean lives in a suburb of Philadelphia with her husband and three children.
Genre: Fiction; Ethnic Fiction Publisher: Red Lotus PressRelease Date: June 4, 2012
The lives of Madeline and Sybil become intertwined in heated confrontation by the birth of a child - a child that each claims to have a right to. For one woman, possession of the child represents redemption; for the other, the repetition of generational sin.
The Fruits Of Our Sins chronicles the deeply flawed relationships these women have with their parents, the impact of those relationships on the direction of their lives and ultimately the lives of their children as they attempt to flee from, yet reconcile, the betrayals and abandonment of their youth.
MY REVIEW!!!
Dysfunctional is a word we all use at some point to describe our own family. Rather it is one person or a whole group of them. Emotions seem to flare up differently for each person. As you fight with your parents maybe you are angry and they are heart broken or maybe you are upset and they are annoyed. There outcomes are endless.Jean Mckie-Sutton brings these issues to the surface and in your face forcing you to read and follow the group of individuals and families she has in her book. This is NOT an easy read. You will be touched in one way or another by this book and you need to take the time to focus on exactly what is going on to get the full concept of the writing.
I for one feel overwhelmed with not only emotion but guilt at what I have done in my own life to cause some of these issues in my own family. A fictional story that will have you truly thinking and reflecting on your own reality.
