Alex In Print

For those of us who like the feel of a book in print, "Alex in Wanderland" finally came out in that format this month.

As an author, writing some books are more fun than others.

Alex is the tale of a bickering married couple swept away into an alternate universe.

I amused myself by throwing all sorts of hazards at them, and satirizing typical heroic quest tales at the same time.

This was probably the one book where I had more conversations with my editors about changes than any other story I've written. Won some, lost some, probably made it a better tale in the end.

At one time I even called upon a daughter who reads movie scripts for a living to try and suggest a compromise or two.

The main thing, I was still smiling when I finished, and think I threw in enough adventure and romance to hold and amuse the reader. If the ending got two editors chattering, I must have done something right.

Alex came out in June 2015 as an ebook, now available in old-fashioned paper too.

Enjoy and comment. I don't think it needs a sequel, but then, I've been wrong once or twice before.

Fall is Here

Been busy with the writing. Turned in the third volume in my Toltec Series (Untitled) to my Florida Publisher. They sais they liked it so that's a go. Haven't got into the nitty-gritty of the editing and nasty comments though.

Last week sent my Alberta publisher the 8th novella in the Housetrap Chronicles series. They approved and it will be coming out in January.

Watch out for: "Murder on the Disorientated Express."

Now working on #9 so the publisher will have three ebooks to combine into a third print volume of Housetraps.

Will be at the Winnipeg Convention Centre October 28,29,30 for Comic Con. Look for me at the Burst Book table.

This week a=have to finish the boat off for winter before the snows come. Getting closer!

Summertime

Been an unusual summer. I've been under the weather so stuck at home instead of outside playing with my toys.

The good news means that I have done a fair bit of writing and editing.

The first book in my what-if the Native Americans discovered Europe first and arrived with the heavy artillery "Toltec Dawn" has finally come out as an ebook and is available through etreasures publishing.

I'm working hard on editing the galleys for the second book in the series, "Toltec Khan." Have to have that finished for Sept 1st.

I've completed the first draft of the third book, untitled, and sent it to my editor. No comments from her yet.

The final books in the Queen's Pawn Trilogy, The Queens' Man and the Queen's Game are both available now in either ebook or print format from the usual sources or direct from the publisher Champagne Books.

If I ever get caught up I have to finish the eighth novella in the Housetrap Detective series and start the ninth.

I'd like to have those two novellas done by the end of the year but I fear I won't make it.

New Books Coming!

Been busy.

Just got word that the third book in The Queen's Pawn series, The Queen's Game, will be available August 2nd in either print or ebook format, and that the second book, The Queen's Man, is now available in both formats.

Available through Champagne Books/Burst Books and the usual places.

One of the series I had a lot of fun writing!

Working on the new trilogy through my second publisher, etreasures.

This is my spec fiction, what-if epic about the Toltec Empire of Mexico discovering the New World, aka England. Books one and two have been written and should be out this year, 2016.

Toltec Dawn
Toltec Khan

Book one is finished.

Book two is in the final round of editing (I hope)

Book three is about 60% into the first draft so I expect that will be out in 2017.

As soon as the cover art is settled and the books are out, I will make certain to have them up on Goodreads.

My first novel through eTreasues, "We're Not in Kansas" a spec-fiction near future thriller, is out now and available through the publisher and the usual suspects.

Banged up my leg last October and still not 100% so I guess the sailboat may be late launching this year, or not at all. So I can spend more time writing?

Todays Update

As usual I've been busy doing busy things and not paying attention to what I should probably be doing.

My latest novel, and the first to be published through eTreasures Publishing, is "We're Not in Kansas." It will be released April 27th although the publisher is taking orders for presales starting April 16th.

"Kansas" is my first venture into more of a Sci Fi / Thriller tale about a lady archaeologist and her teenage daughter searching for a mysterious artefact in a near-future setting.

Besides this, I have just finished several rounds of editing on the first two books in the What-If Toltec trilogy. They should be released later this year, also through eTreasures. Have seen the first draft of a cover and I like it.

Also just wrapping up editing on the third book in the Queen's Pawn trilogy ... "The Queen's Game." This one is through Burst Books, a division of Champagne Books.

In my not so spare time, working my way writing book three of the Toltec series. Target is to finish the first draft by the end of August.

Just went to the Pop Culture Expo last weekend. Think I may take part in 2017. Next shows I'm in this year will be KeyCon33 May 21-23rd, When Words Collide August 12th to 14th, and C4 Comic Con Oct 28th-30th.

Should keep me busy.

Usually rambling on about the writing life...

Currently working on doing some serious editing for my second publisher, eTreasures Publishing. My first book with them, a sci fi tale: "We're Not in Kansas" should be available shortly, followed by the start of my Toltec Trilogy: "Toltec Dawn" a what-if epic.

Good reading all!

Some New Projects

Signed with a second publishing company, eTreasures of Florida. My first novel through them, "We're Not in Kansas," has jumped through all the hoops and comes out shortly, complete with a catchy cover. It is a near-future thriller tale about a mother and daughter on a quest to find the trail of an Egyptian goddess.

Future projects through eTreasures include my What-If trilogy about what happens when North Americans discover Europe first, and arrive with the superior technology. The first novel. "ToltecKhan" has just finished the editing process and should be out shortly. The second novel "Toltec Dawn" is now in editing. I have to start work on the third in the series by the end of this month to hit my deadlines.

Coming out from my other publisher, Burst Books of Alberta, is the second novel in "The Queen's Pawn" high fantasy series. Titled "The Queen's Man" I expect it will be available February 2nd. The third volume, "The Queen's Game," is now in editing.

As of now I plan to be at "Key Con" in Winnipeg in May, "When Words Collide" in Calgary in August and "Comic Con" in Winnipeg the end of October.

Should be enough here to keep me busy.

Whew!

Been a crazy week Just finished the first round of editing on the second book in the Queen's Pawn Trilogy.

Finally settled on a title: The Queen's Man.

The third book, first draft completed, will be called: The Queen's Game.

Had a problem as I switched editors at Champagne and she was sent the wrong manuscript by the outgoing editor. A real dog's breakfast. Took me a long week to straighten it out.

Spent last weekend at Comic Con Winnipeg. Sold a few books, talked to a lot of people. Will be back again next year. Was a bit slow getting around because I'd hurt my leg and was using a cane to get through the crowds.

Going to take this week off writing, (maybe) and get a breather before starting the clan-up on The Queen's Game.

My latest in the Housetrap Chronicles Series came out November 2nd, Menagerie A Trois. A fun piece to write!

Sorry, Been Quiet, Sort of

I haven't been on this site as much as I should have lately. My excuse is I've been too busy writing.

Currently I have four projects accepted by publishers that are now going through the sometime torturous editing process:

Through Champagne Book Group:
- The second book in the Queen's Pawn Trilogy. No firm title yet.
(I am about 50% of the way through writing the third book in that series)
- The seventh novella in the Housetrap Chronicles, my fantasy detective series.
"Menagerie @ Trois"(I did start writing #8 but have been side tracked lately, a winter project)

Both of these should be available in the next few months.

Through eTreasures Publishing:
- "ToltecKhan," the first of three in my What-If epic. (The second has been written but not reached the acceptance stage yet)
- We're Not in Kansas - My first SciFi novel attempt.

Both of these should be out in the next 6 months.

In addition to the monthly blogs I write for The Writers Vineyard I also now appear on Author Rebecca Dracco's blog monthly in addition to my own website: www,ronaldhore.com

This coming weekend I will be appearing at When Words Collide in Calgary.

Don't think I'll run out of things to do, and the sailing season probably only has one good month left...

Keep on writing and reading!

Virtual Book Tour

This month we are having a "virtual book tour" to promote the release of my latest novel, "Alex in Wanderland." The tour will run from May 11th to May 22nd and my fingers are crossed we will pick up some reviews. This story is a little different from my usual medieval style tales or my fantasy detective series. It follows the adventures of a mismatched modern couple flung into an alternate universe and sent on a dangerous quest.

The tour can be accessed through:
http://junipergrovebooksolutions.com/...

Also doing a PDF copy giveaway.

Besides that, Dark Knights, the 3rd book in the Dark Lady trilogy is now out in print format as well as ebook and I just signed the contract to turn "The Queen's Pawn" into a trilogy. Should be busy writing and editing in 2015/16.
