One Week In. Whirlwind 7 Days
Well, we’re hanging in there. To those of you who took the time to buy (or even if you received a free ARC copy) and left a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads, thank you. I am absolutely floored so far by the reception. I never would have thought it, but it kind of seems to be riding a wave of momentum:

What’s up next for The Last Eye of TimeAs most of you know, The Last Eye of Time is the first book in the series of the same name. And yep, that means that I’m working on the second book (untitled) already. A little bit about my plans:
Finish the first draft by November.
Take a 2-week hiatus to refresh my eyes.
Begin editing.
Announce Beta Reader program to newsletter subscribers.
Edit some more.
Edit some more, more.
Edit further.
Announce and distribute ARCs.
Prepare for release > Release
So, without putting a firm time on it at this point, I am looking at a late first half of 2026 release. Things can change, I could finish the first draft early, or the manuscript could require more extensive edits than initial estimates, but by and large this is the timeline I’ll be working with.
I’ll release some updates to it as the weeks and months pass, so make sure to stay tuned!

In the meantime…So what will we have hear at the official website until then? Well…
Sometime in September I will release the first side-story from TLEoT universe. With a story this big and with so many characters, there are a lot of backstories. Once a month (unless something else comes up), I’ll have short side stories released exclusively to newsletter subscribers (then following some time later on the website).
Excerpts from Book 2. I will post some here on occasion, offering glimpses and sneak peaks into the world of The Last Eye of Time. There are a few new characters, places, and events in Book 2 that will, if you’re anything like me at all, knock your socks off. I’m so excited to bring them out into the world!
Character Bios. I’ll also be doing some character-centric posts that focus on one character from the books at a time, starting with Gaelenn. These will be fun deep-dives into their pasts, presents, and analyzing what makes them tick!

What is science fantasy?
Think Dune, Star Wars, Final Fantasy—a fantasy setting with sci-fi themes and ideas, or vice versa! It’s a natural fusion of two genres that are often lumped together and sat in a corner, anyway. Chances are, if you like at least one of the genres, you’ll enjoy a mix of them.

So what is The Last Eye of Time, and why is it science fantasy?Well, it’s a fantasy adventure at heart: the setting, the feel, the mood. But its brain is science fiction. Make sense? Think about a smartphone finding its way to a medieval village, along with its owner, and you might have an inkling. You’re in a mud-lined hut with no running water, but you can see that there is something more to the world than anybody knows.
But that’s just the start. The Last Eye of Time is a an adventure from some past—or future—era. Its themes may be contemporary or they may be old-fashioned; they may even have something to them that can’t really be compared to just yet. But all of the ideas within its pages have some grounding, some foundation, in the natural human spirit and therefore a potential to connect us as reader and writer. No matter what was, is, or will be in fashion at any given moment.
If I don’t like fantasy and I don’t like sci-fi, why should I read it?Because it’s a human story. The genre is just a backdrop when you break it down, just as all stories are. The setting may inform the shelf on which it’s placed in the bookstore, but it’s the characters and their struggles and successes. It’s the universal quandaries of love and hate, life and death, good and evil, and our exploration of what’s in between.
Or, maybe, it’s just a story. Read it, and you tell me.

What’s an ARC?ARC stands for Advance Reader/Review Copy, and is a way for an author to reach out to potential readers before release and try to generate some buzz—and reviews!
The basic gist is that (if chosen) you get a FREE digital copy of the book with the agreement that you’ll try to review it on or before release day! To get those vibes flowing and spread the good word to other readers. You know, since we’re all slaves to the algorithms nowadays.

Updates and Arc preview
It’s been a while since a regular update—it doesn’t mean anything has stopped, though. In fact, it’s because I’ve been so busy getting everything prepared for release! First, I am happy to announce that:
The book is DONE. All edits and proofreading are FINISHED.It was a very long, very arduous process, and it took a lot of effort and help, but I think I’ve finally got something I’m ready to show to the world.

ARC Signup IncomingSo, as promised (a while back), the ARC Program is ready to roll. First, I’ll create a list of the current ARC candidates and post a signup form in Google Docs for those of you who are interested in applying!
