"My love wears your name like a favourite wool coat,
my love pulls it over her shoulders and sighs...."

“My love wears your name like a favourite wool coat,

my love pulls it over her shoulders and sighs.

Tells people that it belongs to you.

My love says yes.

My love is doe-eyed, long limbed,

always falling over its feet.

Clumsy love, earnest love,

always, always blushing love.

My love waits for the flowers

in your chest to grow,

and calls the sun to open up

in all its hopeful light

inside of you and tends to them.

My love is tender, tending,

soft,

melting butter love,

open heart surgery love.

If you wanted the moon, just ask for it.

If you wanted to be held, careful as a newborn lamb,

if you were gentle about it.

Yes, my love,

says yes, okay, I love you

yes.”

- Azra.T ”My Love and Large Tender Things” after Anita Ofokansi’s ‘Love, Gravity & Other Natural Forces’ (via ingenieuse)

“It is violent that we cannot touch each other, yet. It’s a war crime. It should be illegal that my fingers still haven’t learned the notches of your back. I think about holding your wrist in the O of my thumb and my index finger. I think about kissing the blue veins there. I think about careful mouth touches, and the tender of you. The warm, soft hollow of you, and how I lose my bottom lip wondering about yours. I’ll kiss you there, I promise. I promise.””

-  Azra.T., “These wrists, these eyes, these praying hands.”

I got a really mean message tonight calling me names because I didn’t answer a question and honestly, stop it. Stop being angry at me for not having the strength or the patience or even the desire to want to respond to message upon message asking me for advice or help or wisdom. I’m not that person. I’m not that girl. I hate that I have to write posts on this vein every few months but it just keeps coming back again and again. I’m not an advice blog, I’m not a therapist. I’m just a girl and I’m as confused and as scared as the rest of you.

“Women like you

should not be brutalised

by love. You are

generations of blood and fire,

you are all war.

Take your knees from the floor.

Don’t look at him.

Something violent

and brutal and ugly

is howling inside of you

Act like it.”
