Flotilla of the Dead listed on GoodReads
You can go to Flotilla of the Dead now if you want to mark it to read or leave a review. Or refer people to it, if you want to. I'm relying in large part on word of mouth to spread the news.
It's available only on Amazon Kindle for $2.99. Yesterday and today saw great sales for both Voyage of the Dead and Flotilla of the Dead.
I suppose that Z-Day promotions had something to do with it, but I was also very pleased to see three 5 star reviews for Flotilla of the Dead in it's first day of release from fans who have been anxiously awaiting it and apparently read it in a single sitting!
Thank you all for your support.

Flotilla of the Dead is climbing the charts!
Thought you all might like to know that Flotilla of the Dead was released yesterday (Z-Day). It has climbed to #6,012 in Paid Kindle in the first 24 hours and broke into the top 100 for sci-fi-adventure and horror categories on Amazon UK too.

Z-Day Simulation in Progress...
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that some GR members decided to conduct a Z-Day simulation at http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...
Any readers of Voyage of the Dead are more than welcome to join in. Remember that tomorrow, 4/2/12, is when the mission to Cabo takes place. After that there are several days of unknown developments as the Sovereign Spirit sails north. You can fill in the missing links!
Flotilla of the Dead was also released today and already received a 5 star review from a reader in Montana. You can find the book at http://www.amazon.com/Flotilla-Dead-S...

Happy Z-Day! Flotilla of the Dead Released Today!
Well, it's been a struggle to complete the edits and finalize the plot, but Flotilla of the Dead has been uploaded to Amazon today!
I was a little surprised that the world didn't end this morning, but perhaps my timing was slightly off.
Thanks again to everyone who has waited so patiently for the second book. And thanks even more to those of you who have been pestering me to hurry up. Talk about motivation!
The Sovereign Spirit Saga seems to have taken on a life of its own. There will be a third book in the series, but PLEASE don't ask me to rush it. I do hope to be able to release it later this year, but have not and will not set a firm deadline. This one almost drove me mad.
All that I ask of my friends and fans is to help spread the word about the first two books while I work on the third.
My hope is to find an editor and publisher to combine all three of the first books in the Sovereign Spirit Saga into an omnibus trilogy to be released in paperback next year. I'm not holding my breath, but I am truly encouraged by the response to my efforts so far.
THANK YOU! And Happy Z-Day.
By the way, my new twitter address is @DavidPForsyth. I hope to see you there too!

Let's Try This Again... One week and counting...
Amazon has corrected the "glitch" that caused Voyage of the Dead Introductory First Look to vanish from their website during the promotion last week, so let's try it again!
Voyage of the Dead Introductory First Look will be FREE Sunday and Monday! This is the 30,000 word (70 page) cliffhanging teaser, not the full book. This promotion should boost sales of Voyage of the Dead in the days leading up to the release of "Flotilla of the Dead" at the end of next week.
ONLY ONE WEEK UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.... Z-Day is April 1, 2012.

Free Promo Cancelled: Amazon "lost" my book!
There was a free promotion of Voyage of the Dead Introductory First Look yesterday. It was supposed to extend into today. However, after climbing the charts to #28 in Free Science Fiction Adventure, it suddenly vanished from the whole Amazon website!
The "glitch", as they call it, seems to have happened when the description was edited for the promotion. It happened to other books too. There is a thread on Amazon's Meet Our Authors board called "My Book Disappeared" where other authors reported the same problem.
Luckily, the full edition of Voyage of the Dead is still available online. After they resolve the problem with Voyage of the Dead Introductory First Look there will be another free promotion. My goal is to promote the release of "Flotilla of the Dead" at the end of the month and Z-Day on April 1st. Thanks for spreading the word!

Successful Promotion!
Thanks to everyone who spread the word about the giveaway of Voyage of the Dead on March 15 (extended to the 16th by popular demand). The virus is now unleashed and spreading! Z-Day is getting closer every day...
Results of the promotion were good. Fifteen hundred copies were downloaded, mostly in the USA, but also 180 on Amazon UK, a dozen in Germany, and a couple in Italy and Spain. Better yet, the sales of Voyage of the Dead have almost doubled since the end of the promotion! The ranking had never been above 9,000 in the Paid Kindle list, but today it is up to #6,180 and climbing!
Welcome to the new fans who found Voyage of the Dead through the promotion. I hope it was worth every penny you didn't spend! Now I must get back to polishing "Flotilla of the Dead" for release (so you will stop hounding me about it)! I love you guys!

Great Results - Promotion Extended
Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word about the FREE promotional giveaway of Voyage of the Dead on March 15. It was so successful that I decided to extend the promotion for one more day.
As of midnight (Pacific Time) the book had climbed to #5 in sci-fi-adventure, #10 in Sci-fi, and #18 in Horror on Amazon's Free Best "Sellers" List! That means that it shows up on the first page (top 20) in all three categories. It actually passed HG Wells' "War of the Worlds" in Sci-Fi at the last minute.
However, since it took all day to get there, it seemed like a shame to pull the plug. So, please tell your friends that it's not too late to get Voyage of the Dead for FREE. The promotion has been extended for another 24 hours.
Thanks again for your interest and support!

4.2 Rating from the Kindle Book Review and Digital Book Today!
After requesting, with breath held, for a review from Anthony Wessel (critical reviewer on TheKindleBookReview.com and founder of DigitalBookToday.com) I was overjoyed to get a 4.2 rating and review from him on Amazon today! His review was:
"This was probably the 7th or 8th "Zombie" book that I read. Without a doubt one of the better Zombie books.
This is book #1 in a series and the book comes to a logical stopping point to end the book. No real cliff hanger, but interesting enough that I will at some point read the second book.
What I liked about the story is the "end of the world" because of Zombies is not a certainty. It is not one or two people trying to stay alive. There are pockets of people with a plan to fight back and to take back the earth. The story makes enough sense that it could be possible.
This is a story about people trying to stay alive, not just killing hoards of the walking dead.
This reviewer rates the book 4.2 stars (rounded down to 4.0). Please read the other reviews to determine if this is the proper genre for you to enjoy.
Anthony Wessel reviewer at TheKindleBookReview.com and founder of DigitalBookToday.com."
THANK YOU ANTHONY!

And to think what kind of review he would have written if I had an editor! ;)
Don't forget to spread the word that "Voyage of the Dead" will be FREE on March 15th! Thanks again to everyone who likes my work.
