It’s a while since I wrote a blog containing writing advice, that’s for sure.

2012, I started. Way, way back when that first novel, What We Saw, was still in production. Why did I blog about writing itself when I was just a beginner writer? Mostly because I was told that was the best thing to do.

And although looking back, I can acknowledge the flaws of that approach, I made some good friends a...

“Everybody thinks they’re prepared for the end of the world. Some people are just naive. They believe that they are completely safe. They believe that because they are living in a “civilised society,” nothing can threaten their way of being. They go about their days, mess around on their smartphones, like nothing could change a thing; like nothing could take away what they believe they have a God-given right to access. The internet. The media. All of it, constructed by humans, there to support humans, there to inform and to educate humans. Constant connectivity.”
Ryan Casey, Into the Dark

“People interpret you as aggressive when really, you’re just trying to prove yourself to them. Prove yourself to…‌to yourself.”
Ryan Casey, Dead Days: The Complete Season One

“But nothing is permanent.”
Ryan Casey, Into the Dark
