The Proof Copy Has Arrived!

0116131949The proof copy of “His Only Star” arrived, and I’m more than excited! I always love getting these in the mail. I made a few adjustments to it last night and sent it back for final revisions. But, seeing my name in print and flipping through the pages is fantastic. It’s a feeling to which you never grow numb. All the hard work, the hours of laboring, and the help and encouragement from my friends and family has made this worth it.

So, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your sup...

That’s A Poor Excuse

Note: This post may get a little Chuck Wendigy, if you know what I mean. If you don’t, it means watch out for foul language!

Every so often, when I don’t see a friend or family member for a long time, they’ll ask me “how are the book sales going?” which is a question I don’t really like hearing. Most of these people don’t understand that I don’t write for the money. (Because, let’s face it, what money?) I write because I love it. I write because there is a physicalneed for me to do it. But, al...

An Update Of The General Sort

I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out what to blog about today. I don’t have any particular writingquandariestoday, not do I have any advice from life experience to offer. So, I’ll give you guys a bit of a general update. It’s been a while since I’ve done that.

You may remember a week or two ago I told you I was going to get back into shape. A healthy body is a healthy mind. Well, that’s been going fairly well. I haven’t been working out as much as I’d like, but Ihavebeen working out. The f...

Proof Is In The Mail; Stuck In A Slump

Today is both a good day, and a not so great day. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad day. Not by a long shot. In fact, today is more good than not so great.

(I love a good list!)

Good thing #1: The proof copy of “His Only Star” is on its way! In fact, I just received the email saying it’s shipped. I’m very excited about receiving it. Holding it in my hands. Looking at my name printed in big white letters along the bottom of the cover. Seeing my words sprawled across each and every page. It’s very exciti...

Update: Coming Soon: “His Only Star”

Sorry I haven’t posted lately. I took a few days off to spend with some semi-distant family to celebrate the past holiday. Overall it was a good time. Although, as we were about two minutes from the driveway after an hour and forty minute drive, we realized we forgot the presents. Oops!

Anyway, on to the update!

There’s been a slight change of plans. Remember a short while back when I held two votes on the names of Project Oliver? Well, with the help of Karen Rought (Super amazing! Go check her...

Write And Be Healthy

This post is inspired by the great and vulgar Chuck Wendig. I’ve seen him say on more than one occasion how being healthy is crucial to being a better writer. In fact, he recently posted 25 writer resolutions for 2013, and this was #15:

They say the body is a temple; mine is probably a back alley pawn shop. (“Want to buy a cassette player and an off-brand Samurai sword?”) Just the same, I shouldn’t be savaging the architecture of my flesh with gross indolence and needless diet. The mind and th...

Back In Business!

I’m pleased to announce that my wife’s blog is now back up! It was wrongly flagged as a spam blog, but WordPress support restored it. She’s really quite excited, andvery anxious to get to blogging!

Side note: This blog will now return to to its standard posts ;)

But, while I have your attention, I might as well ask:

What will you be reading this weekend?

I’m currently working my way through Scott Westerfield’s “Behemoth,” and am loving every word of it!

Glitch!

In reference to my last post about my wife’s blog: it appears we’ve run into a little glitch. I think some sort of misunderstanding has occurred causing her blog to be deactivated. We’re not sure why it happened, but we’re waiting to hear back from them. So hold on just a second while we work this out!

WordPress Has Gained Another Stocking!

Big news! As a New Year’s resolution, my wife has decided to take up blogging. She’s been contemplating starting a blog for a few months now and she finally got it started. She plans to mainly blog about books as she is quite the bibliophile. Go check out her blog and give her a follow!
