Google Poems
My wife found out this funny thing you can do with Google called Google poems. It’s pretty fun, especially knowing the hard word it takes to write a decent poem. This, in some cases, makes it look easy. All you do is type in the beginning of a sentence, then you read the search as the title, and the suggested searches like the lines of a poem. A lot of the results aren’t that excited, but sometimes you can find some good ones. My wife and I spent the better part of an hour coming up with the...

Does Bestselling Count If It’s Free?
It was far too early in the morning to get a screenshot of Infernal Inventions as #1. So, here’s #2 instead!
It didn’t take long for me to fall into my old blogging habit of… well… not blogging. Oh well. I’m a writer, not a blogger. I love you guys and girls, but I need to write some fiction! But I’ll be sure to keep you all in the loop.
Anyway, speaking of keeping you all in the loop! I published London Darkness: War of the Devices Saturday! Woohoo!! Go check it out!Yeah, I know, I spaced on b...

A Successful Promotion!
The promotion for His Only Star is over, and I’m beyond pleased. So many people shared the sale on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, and wherever else. More people than I expected. It’s amazing to know that I have so much support, and I would absolutely love to do something like this again. Which, actually, will be this weekend.
Where I’m at right now: The promotion is over, so I’m hoping to see some reviews come in, and now I’m working on going through the final edits of London Darkness:...

What Springs Your Ideas?
First off, I’d like to thank everyone who downloaded a copy of His Only Star so far. I’m grateful for each and every download and, while I know not all 150+ of you will post a review, it’s still great to know my work is out to some readers. Hopefully what reviews I do (hopefully) get will help generate some sales! The sale ends tomorrow, so if you haven’t downloaded your free copy of His Only Star, don’t miss out!

It’s amazing how hearing one word can send your mind off on such a vivid detour....

Did Someone Say Free?
Starting at midnight, His Only Star will be available on the Kindlefor free!So get out there and spread the word! I mean, when has free stuff ever hurt anyone!? To help entice you, check out what people have been saying:
“He keeps the action going through the whole narrative, with little breaks to allow readers to get to know the characters. Weaved throughout are bits of symbolism, beautiful analogies, and raw emotion. I found myself actually yelling at the pages, and yes, there were some tear...

His Only Star’s First Print Review!
No post yesterday because, well, it was Valentine’s Day, and I had class from 12:30 to 6:15. So, the rest of the evening was dedicated to my wife. I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. However, today is back to work! So, I’d like to share some good news with you. His Only Star was reviewed by my College’s award-winning newspaper, The Stylus! It’s the very first print review of any of my books, and, well, it’s a fantastic review! Take a look!

My Critic Is Being Too Critical

I might need to put a leash on my digital, and literal, red pen. (Image Credit cellar_door_films via WANACommons)
For my Fiction Workshop class we’re supposed to read our classmate’s stories, and then give them a half-page write up with feedback. This is all well and good, and I know it will help everyone go become moreproficientand giving feedback, which will make them better at critiquing their own work. However, I’m finding that I’m being a bit too critical of some of my classmates.
I unders...

Boy, Marketing Is Hard

Hey, you! Buy my book! I KNOW you’ll love it! (Image credit MACSwriter via WANACommons)
They say the key to an author’s success is writing good books, and a lot of them. I absolutely agree. A reader reads one of your books and loves it, so they go looking for more. Plus, there are just physically more titles for people to stumble upon. However, how do you initially get those first few books out there? I’ll admit that marketing is not one of my strengths. I’ve never really had to do it, so now...

Day To Day Update: And So It Begins!
Alright, I’m going to give this a whirl. I need to blog more. So, I’m going to do just that. I’m going to try to blog every day, or at least every other day. This is semi-inspired by Cherie Priest. She is working hard to blog and write every day. And so far she has done pretty well. Some of these will be general updates, while others might be a bit more focused to one topic. You know, standard blogging. So, here goes!
Things Accomplished in fiction: I wrote close to 1,000 words in a new novel...

An Open Letter To Those Who Raised Me: Thank You
I’d like to take a brief moment to acknowledge those who have helped to mold me into the creative being I am today. They helped me more than they know.
Thank you to my family who let me play outside. This helped me to act out everything in my imagination. Giving me a sort of “real world” experience.
Thank you to my family who let me spend hours playing video games. This built up my imagination and allowed me to see things in a new way. To see story lines and characters, and learn how to weave t...
