Fierce
Oh yes, an almost full picture of my Castlefest Saturday outfit.
Steampunk will always be playing an important part in my modeling and outfitting. It’s the style I base all on. If you see my other outfits you can probably tell:)
I love it very much that my belts come out so nicely in this shot, even the bag I’m wearing over my shoulder comes out nicely~♥ Thanks for the shot Marije!

The African Renaissance Monument in Senegal, larger that the Eiffel tower and the statue of liberty .. Things you don’t see in mainstream media.
@KrystVegaNeteru
This is beautiful.
I think this picture better illustrates the size of that monument.
I never even knew this existed this makes me so happy to find out about it
That is amazing.
Holy shit, that is incredible.

Female BAMFs Throughout History
Dear Followers:
I am a feminist, and an equal rights activist. I believe in the spirit of the individual, of the power of hope, and of positivity.
That said, just because there are people like Nicki Minaj who “promote” social justice, that doesn’t mean that I have to like them or listen to them.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And yes, sometimes one has to stand up and make a loud voice to be heard and express themselves in order for change to happen. However, I do not believe in being negative about it, or spreading negative energy in order to produce the results one wishes to achieve. At some point someone is going to hurt someone else’s feelings; that’s a given. What isn’t a given is that you have to be a sour-faced jerk in order to be heard.
Lost a couple followers in the miasma, got a note about how dare I say anything about Nicki Minaj being pretentious, yadda yadda yadda, however whatever. Look, at the end of the day, we are all just people on the internet. If my opinion causes you offense because you have a different opinion, alright, I think we can agree to disagree. When one’s opinion steps on someone’s toes, or is intentionally hurtful, then let’s start a conversation and figure out how we can get along better. Bumping chests and calling names isn’t how you get people to respect you.
That’s just my two cents.

Hey Franco, you try to fuck any underage girls lately?
Hey. Hey guys. Hey.
Pretty sure this is something that has to do with Franco’s new movie. You know, the one where he’s going to assassinate Kim Jong Un? That one? Where’s he’s a reporter? The Interview, you know?
Instead of getting incensed — source.
And as soon as someone does a joke interview with Franco and mentions how he tried to fuck underage girls, at Franco’s expense, for the sake of humor, that’ll be great. Until then, he can shut his dumb pretentious fucking mouth when uncreatively throwing the exact same stones at Nicki that everyone else throws because having a big ass isn’t even comparable to sexting non-adults.
I have no love for Franco — pretentious is the proper description — but Nicki Minaj is absolutely pretentious as well. She’s incredibly negative, casts herself in this persecuted light, and presents nothing but ill-tempered words for anyone who criticizes her. Thusly do we get gifsets like this where Minaj is casting verbal stones and it’s hailed as “powerful” and that she’s some icon of social justice. She isn’t. She’s a mean spirited individual who tries to divert criticism by throwing larger stones back. You know who actually handles criticism with positivity? Beyonce. She just presents herself, and handles her critics with style. I’ve never heard anything positive out of Minaj’s mouth when she isn’t trying to fluff up her image by doing something charitable.
But I digress.
This isn’t an example of Minaj tackling criticism. This is a joke interview. This was done for laughs and comedy, “Between Two Ferns” style. So when this gets posted as another example of Minaj “getting it” I roll myself and find the source, because it’s an obvious attempt at comedy that someone is taking wildly out of context.
In short: Franco and Minaj can go fuck themselves, respectively, and people need to remember to cite sources.

landscape with the fall of icarus - william carlos williams
#forever fascinated by the translations between mythology and history #the idea that the heaven-wracking events of myth #the murders and violations and revenges and glories; the blood and blades and fury #would register only as little & distant tremors in the landscape of human antiquity #how icarus’ wild doomed flight which dared the height & purview of gods could be just a dark flitting thing against the noon-bright sky #and his ruinous fall could be just a soft muted splash to another mortal ear #and how we overwrite events to give them a symbolic power #so that icarus’ flight becomes emblematic of the whole history of human daring and pursuit and endeavour and glorious failure #its resonance renewed every time it’s invoked within this fabric of shared cultural dreaming (elucipher)
