If you watch no other interview with a celebrity you’ve convinced yourself you hate, watch Russell Brand’s BBC interview that aired last night.  This deserves a standing ovation.

“I ended [New X-Men on a] Scott and Emma kiss, and I don’t think anyone ever really got it, but a kiss is an X…it’s how they represent a kiss. So I always wanted to end on this final representation of the X as being a kiss, the contact, the moment. It’s what X-Men’s always been about. Find the others. Kiss. Get on. Don’t fight.”

Your first time is NOT supposed to hurt

You are NOT supposed to bleed

If you bleed, that is NOT your hymen being ‘popped’, it is a tear due to lack of sexual arousal and natural lubrication.

This is all a MYTH perpetrated by men so they don’t have to make sure you are comfortable and sufficiently aroused enough before you have sex with them. It is an excuse to disregard and hurt you.

I just really want people to know this.

October 31, 2013

The first draft is finished.

This is such an emotional thing right now.

I’ve been trying to write this story for close to a decade; it’s taken various forms from future cyberpunk to straight up 30’s adventure. It now rests in a fun, fantastical adventure thrillride set in 1934, and I couldn’t be happier that it’s done. I wanted to write a book for my son; this is it. But my mom had always wanted to see it too, get a chance to read it, as I’d always hyped it up and told her I was making yet another attempt to read it. When I knew she was sick earlier this year, in July, I picked it up again and started writing. I knew she didn’t have much time. I wanted to write before she passed, but unfortunately I was too late on that. I almost didn’t pick it up again when she passed at the end of August, but I knew I had to. I had to finish it. So I finished it for my mom, so that somewhere she would know it was done, and so my son could read it.

Happy Halloween to me. November will be editing.

I’m almost done.

This book has been crazy action sequences coupled with character moments and exposition, twisting real history into fantasy, with healthy doses of humor and adventure inbetween.

I’m almost done.

One more chapter and then an epilogue.

Sweet mother.
