Interstellar

iamtheejenna:

I said it after walking out of the 70mm IMAX showing last night: if Interstellar does not win an Oscar for Best Original Score I will be shocked. If it does not get one for Visual Effects, I will be surprised. Though there have been, and still will be a handful of good films this year, Nolan knocked it out of the park. It was beautiful. Pay the money to see it as big as you can. It is worth every penny. Well done.

People look down on McDonald’s employees but fail to realize that if all these folks left McDonald’s and pursued “better careers”  your ass wouldn’t be able to get a McDouble with an Oreo McFlurry at 3am.

King Casey decides to be the brave one of the Kings and takes a crack at night one of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. This is going to be one of those games, isn’t it?

Okay, so: you won’t find me playing this game. But Casey is, and he’s brave, and I’ll be quietly hiding my face beneath my blanket while he does.

Spoil the ending of your favorite game without any context

Spoil the ending of your favorite game without any context:

The cube and anticube both reassemble. Things go back to normal, but now your village knows about one more spatial dimension than before. Also, it turns out that all of the places you’ve visited are contained within one of countless hypercubes. Or something. Sweet drum solo!

You…

You and your Freudian-flavoured subconscious were to blame for all the creepiness in Creepy Town. Not only was she not writing letters to you, she was dead the whole time, because you euthanised her as per her request.

Once you are confronted with the thing that should not exist, the main character gives up control to the player, allowing you to purge that thing from the world where he cannot. Then the hero drinks coffee in a diner.

I told you that chick at the gas station that looks just like you was creepy.

You shoot a hole in the moon and throw a robot out of it. The AI in the game then tells you to leave because you’re terrifying.

You nearly die rescuing the man who betrayed you and then get the choice to turn back time to before the end of the world or choose to explore more of a post Calamity world.

As you and your party watch in terror as the Final Weapon looms closer to the planet, the energy of life seeps out of the crust and flows together, weaving into a net to stop the Final Weapon. All energy collides, creating a bright white light, until only her face is left visible as all fades to black.

"What was the process of deciding which qualities of the classic Lara Croft to mix with the qualities..."

What was the process of deciding which qualities of the classic Lara Croft to mix with the qualities of the reboot Lara Croft like?

Scot Amos, Executive Producer: This is classic arcade Croft. This is us saying, what is the core of Lara Croft and what was fun in the predecessor Guardian game? What is the gloves-off, no excuse, do what the fans want version of her adventures? Sure, there is mysticism in all versions of Tomb Raider, but for us, in Guardian and Temple, these are the playgrounds where we let Lara go a little bit further. We get to go a bit over-the-top with high-powered elemental chain guns and renewable explosive mines as well as building sized godlike enemies. It’s taking fans’ asks, modern expectations of the franchises, and balancing that to a fun, single and co-op player, classic Egyptian setting, adventure.

Robert Siwiak, Producer: This is the classic Croft that challenges gods on her weekends.

Depictions of Osiris throughout Egyptian art.

Osiris is usually identified as the god of the dead, underworld, and afterlife. As shown by the examples of his depictions, he is classically presented with green-skin, a beard fastened by a chin-strap, crowned, holding a crook and flail, and with partially mummified legs.

Ahoy! Captain Chris returns to the Zee after a layover in Fallen London. This time he clears a bit of dark off the map and discovers new lands with new rules that carry new risks. The New Khanate isn’t for the faint of heart or the unlucky, folks.
