8 #SciFi Disaster Tales I’ve Enjoyed

Note: This post first appeared in the Roswell Daily Record…

I’ve always enjoyed a good disaster yarn, in any setting. Why I Wrote #SciFi Wreck of the Nebula Dream (“Titanic in Space”)

Note: Portions of this blog post have been published before…

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been fascinated by stories set during a disaster – the events, how could the characters have known or sensed what was about to happen, what do they do, what could they have done, what would I do…Growing up in Upstate New York, the closest I personally got to disaster as a child was probably digging unreinforced snow forts!

But, the family legend is that my maternal grandfather had a cousin who su...

Veronica Reviews #SciFi Movie ‘Skylines’

This post first appeared on the Amazing Stories Magazine blog…

Let me say right up front if I’d been looking for a science fiction action adventure flick to watch on a weekend afternoon, without expecting too much, then ‘Skylines’ (also known as ‘Skyline 3’) Would have been okay, here’s the C grade and let’s move on.

The problem is that it’s the third movie in a trilogy which had been a lot of fun and done some imaginative things…up till now. So let’s review. ‘Skyline’ in 2010 brought us an alie...
