Why I Wrote #SciFi Novel COLONY ON FIRE
After writing the first book, COLONY UNDER SIEGE with these characters – Dr. Saffia Mandell, newly minted doctor working off her medical school bills by doing five years of government service on a remote colony and Micah Navonn, Chief Ranger of his people, who own the planet – I just really wasn’t ready to walk away from them. More plots kept coming to mind and I like these two and their world a lot.
The book is set in my Sectors scifi universe.
As I mentioned last year when explaining the first...

OK, I relented on leaving this book, because people seemed to be enjoying the story of how Rosemari got off her dreary planet. So I’ll share another snippet or two from her on the subject. Sharing excerpts from JAMOKAN: A BADARI WARRI...

Veronica Does a New Quiz!
DepositPhoto
This must be my lucky month – I found two quizzes I wanted to ‘play’ with! (The first was a food quiz, which appears here). The new one was in the Winter issue of Marie Claire and deals with inner peace and related topics. The quiz was a series of fill in the blank sentences so I’m changing the format a bit and skipping a few questions which were too New Age-y for me.
Social media’s impact on my sense of well-being: It depends what’s going on the in the world and in the author world...

Veronica Reviews Time Loop Movie ‘Map of Tiny Perfect Things’
Note: This post first appeared on the AMAZING STORIes magazine Blog…
I love the “day repeating itself” trope and so was eager to watch the movie “Map of Tiny Perfect Things”, released in February on Amazon Prime Video. My favorite in the genre is the classic “Groundhog Day” with Bill Murray although Tom Cruise’s “Edge of Tomorrow” is a close second for me. I think “Map” is a worthy entrant into the field.
One of the most fascinating things to me about movies in this genre is asking myself what I...
