Ten More #SciFi Romance Weddings
Note: This post first appeared in the Roswell Daily Record…
June is the month for weddings and many sci-fi romance (SFR) stories lead to weddings — not all, some end with claiming a mate, pair bonding, becoming partners, cohabiting in the spaceship/space station/alien world, etc. Typically, the happy couple is contending with many more complications than the ins and outs of planning a wedding. I asked my friends at the Facebook SFR Brigade group to suggest some stories with weddings from their o...

Four Recently Read #SciFi Books
Note: This post first appeared in the Roswell Daily Record…
I thought I’d talk about some ‘hard’ science fiction I’ve been reading of late. This genre of SF deals more with science, technology and engineering, with much less (if any) emphasis on the emotions. Romance is often completely missing from the mix, or will have a minimal role to play. ‘Soft’ SF deals more with themes from the so-called softer sciences like sociology and psychology, and the plots incline more toward politics, history re...

Veronica Reviews THE TOMORROW WAR #SciFi Movie
This review contains spoilers…
I’m always ready for a new scifi movie so I was eager to watch “The Tomorrow War” streaming on Amazon Prime, starring Chris Pratt.
(And yes, the makers of the movie managed to work in a kind of gratuitous scene where there’s half an excuse to remove his shirt and show us his six pack abs. Not complaining.)
The movie felt stitched together to me as if the director needed an action scene here and a deeply emo scene there and oh, yeah we’d probably better add footage ...
