Happy Holidays Cool New Magical Take on Nutcracker Suite
HAD to share, really enjoyed this dance video. Yes, it may be the 2013 ad for Bailey’s Creambutit’s not an ad in any sense of the word…the thing to me is the very cool, modern staging of the excerpt from the ballet. I hope you’ll enjoy as I did:
And perhaps equally fun is the behind the scenes video of the “Making Of” the dance sequence. I always love to know how things were done, hear the artists talk about their interpretations, plus more snippets of dancing:
Happy Holidays to you!

Continuing on with my paranormal romance set in ancient Egypt…Nima and Kamin have been captured by a caravan master who plans to sell them to the pursuing enemy. Ptahnetamun, the caravan master, brings out a gameboard and they play, with Kamin, all the caravan workers and many of the caravan passengers watching. Today’s...

The Nile Has Daughters and Dancers and Songs and Priestesses
There’s never enough fiction set in Egypt-of-the-past for me but this week happily brings a new release from Stephanie Dray => DAUGHTERS OF THE NILE (info below). Her novels are historical, based on real people and deal with Egypt in the time of Rome and Cleopatra (all of which I love to read about). As a writermyself, I’m drawn to travelanother 1500-2000 years or so further back in time for the setting of my own Ancient Egyptian paranormal romance novels.
As a Reader, I enjoy it all! Who isn’...

Thanksgiving Trivia While You’re Waiting for the Turkey
88% of Americans have turkey on Thanksgiving. No word on what the other 12% eat but the statistic did come from the National Turkey Federation….
Approximately 250 million turkeys are raised every year for this holiday and the biggest producer of the required bird is Minnesota. (Really???? that seems odd to me but ok.)
“Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence.”Erma Bombeck

Cheat a Cheater? DANCER OF THE NILE Weekend Writing Warriors
Continuing on with my paranormal romance set in ancient Egypt…Nima and Kamin have been captured by a caravan master who plans to sell them to the pursuing enemy. Nima challenges the man to a game ofsenet, with her life and Kamin’s as the stakes and a blood oath between herself and the caravan master that they’ll each honor the outcome. Needless to say, Kamin isn’t too happy and pulls her aside (creative punctuation and a tiny bit of editing to get you the entire exchange):
