My DragonCon Schedule!

As always, this year we will be once again attending DragonCon in Atlanta, GA over Labor Day weekend.

Also, as always, we will be in the dealer room with books! Three new novels this year, and one anthology! Wow, have I been busy!! Look me up on the Vendor map, second floor of the AmericasMart Convention Center, Building 2. Booth A-18, right in the front row next to the exhibitor booths. Great location!

I’ll also be participating in panel discussions with the SFLit Group. Here is my official...

Weapon of Pain Released!

Weapon of Pain coverThe fifth novel in the Weapon of Flesh series, Weapon of Pain, has been set free to roam the wilds of digital and print bookstores everywhere. Available in print from Creatspace or Amazon, and out in Kindle, Kobo, Nook, and itunes. This is actually the second book in the second trilogy, but don’t let that confuse you… It seems to confuse ebook listings, so we’ve gone ahead and re-listed the two trilogies as one series.

If you have not read the first trilogy, please drop by Jaxbooks and read t...

The Art of Saying No

For a writer who has had to scratch and claw for every rung up the ladder (and I’m still climbing) I’ve finally reached a place where publishers and writer friends are coming to me with work. Some of this is paid work like “We’d like you to pitch us on this new project” which, until recently for me, was a new phenomenon. Others are “Buddy, I could really use a beta reader!”

Yes, very hard to say no no to paying work, when you’ve been begging for paying work for years.

I also have a problem sa...

Games people play…and don’t.

There has been a recent kerfuffle about a release of a gaming product that has touched a nerve in me. Now, most of my posts are about writing, and projects, and fun stuff, but this one is going to border on the P word…Yes… Political…

So, trigger warning… This will be my opinion. Since this is my blog, that’s all it is… my opinion. If you don’t like it, feel free to say so….or not.

Because that is what this post is about, sort of.

Freedom of speech is a strange thing. Some people think Freedom...

Characters! They’re like new friends!

Okay, I’m just beginning a brand new story for The Ed Greenwood Group, and this is all new ground. New world, new characters, new story line, new everything. The outline is cut, and approved (shared worlds are like that) and I’m just on chapter one. So, the first thing out of the gate to think about (since the plot and setting are already good to go) is “Who the hell are these people I’m writing about???”

Fortunately, we went to a beach party last night.

You’re thinking WTF??? right?

No, real...

Pirate’s Prophecy Release!

Pirate’s Prophecy, my third Pathfinder Tales novel for Paizo Publishing (and my first for Tor in their partnership with Paizo) Just released on just about every means possible to buy a book. This makes me happy on so many levels!

First, hey, I love writing Pathfinder Tales! The Paizo folks are great to work with and damn nice, too!

Second, I love Pathfinder! I’m basically getting paid to play in a world I love, and how cool is that?

Third, this is my second book release in just three months,...

Hellmaw has Begun! A new type of publishing effort!

After long anticipation we can finally announce that The Ed Greenwood Group is launching their new publishing effort with the first novel in the Hellmaw world, Your World is Doomed. Hellmaw is a world in which daemons have lived on Earth for thousands of years, and we are the food…

Just to give you the big picture of what a huge event this is, The Ed Greenwood Group is unlike any other publishing enterprise out there. It is the brainchild of Ed Greenwood (I bet you figured that out yourself)...

Weapon of Fear Released!

Weapon of Fear coverWe are proud to announce that Weapon of Fear is now available! Due to the overwhelming response to our Weapon of Flesh Trilogy, we have continued with Weapon of Flesh Trilogy II. This is Mya’s story. It’s interesting to note that Mya was originally a small-fry secondary character in the original Weapon of Flesh book. But she insisted that her role in the story was much larger than what Chris had planned for her (those voices in his head…). He actually re-wrote five chapters to make this sneak...

A Little Busy…

So, we’ve been a little busy lately…

It’s been quite a while since you’ve heard from us, and everyone needs to know what’s been keeping us so busy. Some has been writing related (many new projects and no shortage of deadlines looming) and some has been life related.

As you know from previous letters, we had a hard winter and saw more snow than I really ever want to see again. To make a long story short, we are back aboard our beloved sailing home, Mr Mac, and in the water after a very long mo...
