Fake Reviews on Goodreads and Amazon
An awesome blogger Jen at Red Hot Books, posted a great article on how many authors are faking their reviews. Someone had tweeted the article to me and I thought it was really interesting so I read on.... And she begins positively talking about my book Fire Baptized.
I was shocked!
Due to the flood of fake reviews she'd almost decided not to read Fire Baptized because it had so many 4 and 5 stars. Thankfully she did, and she gave me FIVE stars! Woop Woop!
Here's her awesome article:

THE GOOD, BAD, AND IN BETWEEN OF URBAN FANTASY WORLD BUILDING.
(I am on the cool blog Novel Reflections discussing world building. Here's part of the article!)
THE GOOD, BAD, AND IN BETWEEN OF URBAN FANTASY WORLD BUILDING.
Building my world was the best part of writing Fire Baptized. There are so many fun things to consider. Here are my choices of the good, bad, and in between of world building.
The Good
There were no limits. In the beginning of writing my world, I didn’t limit myself with real world rules. I just let my imagination run wild. One example of this is an awesome television I invented called the 6DTV. The television is patented by Air Witches. The viewer can see, feel, hear, and taste everything that is happening on the TV program.
I gave my world’s entertainment a magical flair. There is nothing more fun than adding mystic possibilities to entertainment. In my world, Splash, a Siren R&B singer, tops the billboard charts with “Seduction.” Human girls go crazy over the Vampire boy band Staked. Additionally, the all Supernatural ballet troupe Prese sells out every show.

SUPERNATURAL COLLEGE 101: Everything I (Lanore Vesta) learned my freshmen year.
I’m Lanore Vesta. Most know me as the first Mixbreed to enroll into Maya Luna University. Others may recognize me from my involvement with Mixbreeds for Equality. Regardless, here are the five things I learned during my freshmen year.
1- Never date a Kappa Sigma Que fraternity brother!
The fraternity is the only all Shapeshifter organization on campus. My roommate is a Kappa guy. He took me on a tour of his fraternity house. In the basement, there is a Pound Chart. It announces every female that fraternity brothers have slept with. It includes her yearbook picture, sexual ability scores, and body measurements.
2- Don’t bring your pet Pixie on campus!
Pixies aren’t allowed inside classes because their poop, although very pretty, is impossible to clean. According to university policy, if a campus security Troll catches a student with a Pixie, they have the right to eat it. I learned the hard way that a Troll can sniff out a Pixie a mile away.
3- Never take a course by Professor Brinkjoy!
She is a powerful Earth Witch. If you are late to class, she will order her spelled vines to grab your hands and feet, and attach you to the ceiling. Once I was stuck the whole class period, which sucked because I really had to go to the bathroom. Additionally, if you disrupt her class, hand in assignments late, or chew gum, she will attach you to the ceiling.
4- Never take evening courses!
All of the night professors are Vampires. Personally, I believe Vamps....
(Check out the rest of Lanore's post on Paranormal Romantics blog)

Movie Cast for FIRE BAPTIZED
When I wrote Fire Baptized, there were defiantly several actors and actresses that flashed in my mind. Here’s my casting of the main characters in the book. I have provided a small bio of each character. I held back information on some characters since it is revealed later in the story.

Supernatural History of Fire Baptized
Imagine a world where you walk outside, look up into the sky, and see the sun's rays peek through a barred ceiling. That's Lanore’s and every other supernaturals' existence.
SUPERNATURAL HISTORY
Pre-Habitat Years
Back in the 1970s, supernaturals secretly lived among humans. It was a time of social unrest. Women sought to redefine their societal roles. Students held anti-war demonstrations. Homosexuals contested discriminating law. Supernaturals existed within all those groups. They marched, protested, and rioted while keeping their species identity a secret.
This all changed when the Black Panther Party was created. The revolutionary organization consisted of black fur-coated Were-leopards and Were-jaguars. They were so controversial that the FBI labeled them terrorists and began surveillance operations on them. One night after a meeting, the members went to the woods and shifted. To say the FBI was shocked is an understatement.
The Probe Period:
The FBI shot or trapped the party members. The imprisoned were tortured and questioned about other supernaturals’ existence. Magical species were revealed. The government conducted probes in schools, hospitals, and prisons. Supernaturals fled to refugee camps in third world countries, but their safety was short lived. The United Nations coordinated a world probe. Any discovered supernaturals were delivered to laboratories or concentration camps.
The Supe-Human Wars:
Supernaturals began to fight back. Shapeshifters, Vampires, and Trolls fought together side by side. Fire Witches summoned Demons to help in the battle. Fairies cloaked headquarters in glamour, hiding them from Human eyes. Sirens produced songs to gain Human support.
In the end, the Human’s machinery won. The government had conducted extensive testing on imprisoned supernaturals. Each species’ weakness was exposed. Weapons were invented. The supernaturals, that weren’t killed, surrendered.
The Habitat Years:
The Sirens’ songs gained PETA’s support. The group protested the inhumane treatment against magical species and forced countries to seek alternative methods in dealing with supernaturals.
Later, caged supernatural cities were established and called Habitats. Governments built walls around poverty stricken areas and attached bars to the walls that extended thousands of feet into the air and covered the area like a ceiling. Each habitat was categorized by religion. Supernaturals were allowed to choose the habitat they wanted to live in.
Chapter three excerpt available on Reader Girls Blog: http://www.readergirlsblog.com/2012/0...
My story Fire Baptized is set in the Santeria habitat outside the city of Miami. Here’s an excerpt displaying Santeria’s setting. FYI, Lanore is on the back of a motorcycle with Zulu riding to his condo.

MeShack's Post: Why Vampire Boy Bands Suck!!
Why Vampire Boy Bands Suck!!
by MeShack Hooshmand
Hey Everybody!
This is MeShack from the novel Fire Baptized. Many know me as the Hot, extremly talented Were-cheetah that sings lead for the band Mahogany Groove.
But I'm not just that sexy guy that you dream about . . . I’m also a big music enthusiast.
There is just one type of music that I hate.
Vampire boy bands
Here are my top FOUR reasons why Vampire boy bands suck.
1- Their love songs sound like takeout orders.
Check out the Vampire boy band Stake’s lyrics for “Love Feast”
I’m famished. I need your love, baby
I’ve been starving for you, lady.
When I come to your window full of hunger and need.
Going to take you in my arms and feed.
Personally, that song scares ME.
2- Sweet-talking your food is weird and creepy.
First of all, is it just me, or is having sex with your food insane? I mean these Vampire bands sing about love and sex, but here’s what they really are saying:
“Hey baby, can I drink your bodily fluids to survive? I also want to sex you down, baby . . . as I eat you.”
The last supernatural music awards on MTV gave out at least twenty awards to Vampires.
Ridiculous!
Maybe I should write a ballad about my desire to hump and eat a sandwich.
3- They’re not BOYS!
Just about every Vampire in those boy bands is over a hundred years old. Am I the only one that sees a problem with these old Vampires singing to high school girls?
Clearly this is pedophilia.
4-There’s so much more great music out there.
In fact, here are two albums that are currently on my play list:
The Siren alternative rock group Sea Flower released their latest album, Odyssey Vol. 2: Homer Go F**k Yourself. It’s awesome.
My favorite rapper, a Were-wolf and fraternity brother, Primal
had a new song called Shift It. It’s really sexy so definitely not for anyone under eighteen.
In conclusion, save your ears and brain cells! Throw all of those albums of Vampire boy bands away.
