Twitter and FB

I've often wondered about FaceBook, Twitter, tweeting and all the sweet stuff that goes with social media. I've come to realize there's no end to how much you can do. Go overboard and sometimes you can't undo it either.

The key is to find balance, sustainability and a way to endure so that the manuscript you are working on doesn't suffer. I'm still looking for that balance... any ideas?

Social Media

OK... I admit it took a while but I just figured out how to connect Twitter and FB so that when I tweet it's on my Author page only... and not on my profile page.

Kristen Lamb's book got me up and going to figure it out now. There's still a lot to do and understand by I'm taking baby steps and hopefully will get there soon.

Writing and rewriting a book was hard enough... but now to have to do all this? Hmmm... what next?

Fried Brain

Hi,

OK... it's Friday and I was hoping to jump back in Bk III and pick up from where I last left off. Except things aren't quite going as planned.

I read and edited the last chapter, fixed things a little here and there, and can't seem to move on. I've got work to do on Twitter (learn stuff), take Scruffy puppy for his puppy bath and trim at 6pm... and am miserable!

So, I've decided to stick to working out the twitter thing, finalizing the author bio for Decatur Book Festival and trying to jump back in the story on Monday. Unless I'm real lucky and start clicking away today itself!

Any one else ever have scruffy days?

DUTY AND DESIRE

Hi,

It was an interesting week, last week. A reader was reading DUTY AND DESIRE and keeping me up to date with where she was in the book and her impressions of the scenes on Twitter.

It was a moment indeed! After 25+ rewrites and 9 years of perseverence... to hear what someone else has to say about the book made me realize that it wasn't just my story any more. It is finally a product I am able to share with others.

But the hope is that the story of DUTY AND DESIRE will help readers understand that they don't have to be 'boxed' in a situation. That alternatives do exist and all they have to do is think outside the box to find a solution to their problems.

That's just a hope. A big hope. But then what do I know? I'm just a writer with a heart.

Restructure

Hi,

Have you ever been in a situation where you read the same sentence again and again... and still can't make sense of it? I have. I am in that situation.

I wrote a paragraph of description and I'm re-reading what I wrote. Then I look at the copy editor's comments and think to myself 'No wonder she didn't get what I was saying!' You see, neither do I.

I'm trying hard to figure out how to say it better, cleaner, neater and in a polished way so that the readers *gets it* with just one read.

So I'm diving back to the manuscript... after browsing, hopping on over to Twitter, FB, and other pages... to fix what needs fixing.

Wish me luck!
