I recently had the honor of participating in a Zoom chat with the Hallmarkies Book Club to discuss my Hallmark Publishing novel, An Unforgettable Christmas (2019). During the Zoom and afterwards, I received some great questions from readers about the heat levels of my books.

While I’m aware that readers’ tastes and concerns vary, I’ve also come to understand that many readers would appreciate knowing more about content before deciding to try a new author or story. As such, I thought I’d supply the following guide to any interested Ginny Baird readers.

In general, Ginny Baird books run the spectrum from G to PG and PG-13 in cinema terms, and are suited to most audiences. Some of my earliest books contained open-door love scenes so I’d rate those as R, although a Ginny Baird “R” is likely tame by contemporary standards. A Kirkus reviewer dubbed the love scenes from what I consider to be one of my racier books, How to Marry A Matador (2012), “lukewarm”…lol.

In any case, I hope this is helpful to you all. I’ve grouped the books below both by series and also by heat level for your ease in browsing. GINNY BAIRD RATINGS GUIDE

G books are “squeaky clean” and similar to Hallmark Channel movies. Physical interactions are limited to hugging and kissing, with low sexual tension.

PG books are similar to Hallmark movies or classic romantic comedy films starring Sandra Bullock, Renee Zellweger or Julia Roberts. These include only hugging and kissing with low sexual tension, and may contain mature themes and/or adult humor.

PG-13 books are similar to Hallmark movies or classic romantic comedy films starring Kate Hudson, Meg Ryan or Andie McDowell. These include hugging and kissing with low to moderate sexual tension and closed-door (i.e. “off camera”) love scenes, and may contain mature themes and/or adult humor.

R books are similar to romantic comedy films, and include hugging and kissing with moderate to high sexual tension, as well as one or more open-door love scenes. These books may also contain adult themes and/or adult humor.
