I never thought I'd find myself craving the small-town life, but I've grown to hate LA and all that comes with it. When I get canceled after a celebrity interview goes terribly wrong, I put my life in the City of Angels on hold and hide out in Parkerville, Maine. My sister has made the small town her home, and my assistant lives there, too. So it seems like the most logical place to go. Until my assistant suggests I move in with her dad.
Her very hot, rugged dad.
Who may or may not hate me after I tried to hook my sister up with him. Because rather than falling for him, she fell for his son.
Oops.
It was an honest mistake.
I fully expect Derrick to tell me to find somewhere else to hunker down, but by some miracle, he agrees to let me stay in his spare bedroom, as long as I help out.

I never thought I’d find myself craving the small-town life, but I’ve grown to hate L.A. and all that comes with it. “All right.” I open the sketchpad, leaning my back against the couch. “Just let me know if you need me to get naked so you get the proportions of everything correct.”
She stares at me a moment, processing what I said. “Reid!”
I laugh. “Sorry, I had to. But if you ever need a nude model for your personal art endeavors, I’m your guy.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Her eyes shift away from me, like she’s afraid if she looks at me I’ll find some sort of answer there.
I smirk. “You’ve already drawn me.” It’s a statement, not a question, because I know in my gut it’s true.
“I … no.”
But the way she says no sounds like a lie.
I snap my fingers. “You have. What did you draw?”
Curiosity is getting the best of me. I want to know what about me, my body, attracts her the most.
“Reid,” she pleads, closing her eyes.
“I want to know.” I’m begging now, but I don’t care. “Please.”
She inhales a deep breath, tapping her fingers on her jean-covered thighs. “Your forearms.” Her eyes drift to said forearms. “Your hands. Lips. The dimple in your cheek. Just … you.”
And I know she might not mean it this way, but on the inside, I rejoice because in my mind this tells me she likes all of me.
