HAVEN by Nia K. Foxx

Description: As a shifter, who can’t shift, Ashlei Preen has pretty much given up on love — that is, until the new sexy shifter sheriff catches her scent.

The Good:I really liked the premise of a shifter who couldn’t shift living in a town of shifters. The sex was very hot, and fans of shifter romances will appreciate the primal details. There were also some really funny comedic moments and the town’s residents are a hoot.

The Bad:As much as I loved the premise, the story was weighed down by a...

Frequently Asked Questions

Hey Fellow Readers,

Thank you so much for all the lovely emails and comments as of late. Feel free to keep on sending them along, but here are some answers to some of my most frequently asked questions.

Q: Why can’t I get your latest e-book on the Nook, Kobo, Sony — on anything but Kindle?

A: I don’t want to go into too many details about how the sausage is made, but here’s what I like to do with my free time: read and write. I really HATE promoting and feel it takes away from time that could be...

SLIGHTLY SINFUL by Yvette Hines

She ends up have the mind-blowing sex experience of a lifetime with a mysterious stranger, but what will happen when they meet again in the real world?

The Good: This book was scorching hot with wonderfully naughty situations and sex. Not for the faint-of-heart reader. This isn’t your walks-on-the-beach sort of book. Whoo, boy!

The B...

TAKEN BY A NYMPH by Lizzie Lynn Lee

Description: Nymph Prince Avaran de Charmange is having a terrible time finding a wife, which he needs in order to take his rightful place on the Surian throne, but then he encounters plus-sized beauty, Raine Jackson.

The Good: Well, I just loved that the heroine was a plus-sized, plain jane nurse divorcee. This story is funny, has good pacing, and also has good stakes and action. On another note, I really enjoyed Ms. Lee’s bio.

The Bad: The novella suffers from a lack of romantic conflict, tho...

RESCUE ME by Shara Azod

Description: When Dieter inadvertently rescues Deja from the Croatian mafia, he plans to make her his mistress, but his heart, soon has him demanding more from the beautiful woman than just sex.

The Good: I really loved that the hero hailed from Germany. Ms. Azod did a wonderful job of building up to the sex, and she created really great villains with nice, specific details. The stakes are also well set. It is impossible for the reader not to want to see Deja truly rescued from the life that a...

HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART by Asha King

Description: After getting dumped by his girlfriend, former playboy, Joshua Merrill, begins looking at his friend, Derica, in a whole new light. But can she forget about his past and give him a green light to her heart?

The Good:It was nice to read a novel populated by people in their early twenties, and I love the “circle of friends” concept. Super-cute cover!

The Bad: Unfortunately, this read like an episode of Beverly Hills 90210 during the post-college years — which I actually loved — but i...

SHERRY’S WOLF by Maddy Barone

Description: Sherry Rowe is reeling from 1) surviving a plane crash that sling-shotted her fifty years into the future, where after a nuclear disaster, there are very few women and a ton of Native American werewolves looking to mate; 2) the death of her philandering, abusive husband who was also on the plane, and 3) a werewolf named Jumping Stag, who won’t take no for answer.

The Good: This is a great premise. I also love that Sherry is Catholic and really conflicted about her problematic marr...

THE RANCHER’S ULTIMATUM by Nia K. Foxx

Description:Lynn James is willing to do anything to save her beloved stepfather’s ranch, but does “anything” include agreeing to rancher, Jake Ragnall’s erotic ultimatum?

The Good: This is a very sexy story with great stakes. Added to that, Ms. Foxx sets up a fantastic back story for the H/H’s parents, with a terrific nod to the older generation of loving couples who paved the way. I also loved that Lynn was full-figured and that this significantly added to her attraction for Jake.

The Bad: The...

TAMING THE SCOTSMAN by Sienna Mynx

Description: When Annamarie “Jayla” Howard is convinced to come work at a Scottish castle by her younger brother, she never dreams she’ll become embroiled in a tumultuous affair with its sexy-but-arrogant owner, Baron Alec Cavanaugh.

The Good: This book is a serious page-turner. The only reason I didn’t read it in two sittings was because I had to actually do my dayjob — which I consequentially began to resent for keeping me from further reading. If you like soap opera and yelling, “Oh no, he...

Books I Recently Downloaded After Reading the Samples

I’m not saying that I’m enjoying taking a few days off from not doing anything but writing in my spare time, I’ll just say that these are the samples I read and either enjoyed or was intrigued enough to download in full. I’m going to try to make this a regular feature, but no guarantees. Also, if you’ve read and enjoyed any of these books, let me know, and I’ll push them higher up the list. Meanwhile, look forward to an onslaught of reviews, starting next Monday.

In no particular order:
