An Excerpt: FORGIVENESS

The crack of thunder brought him out of his thoughts, and fat raindrops started to fall. Bay squealed and lifted herself off him as she laughed.

“Apparently we were too out of it to notice the storm coming,” she said as she leaned back to let the rain fall on her face.

ForgivenessRedwood Pack Book 4.7

Adam Jamenson’s courtship of his mate wasn’t the most conventional. In fact, it didn’t exist. Though he knows Bay loves him with every ounce of her soul, he needs to prove to her that he’s worth it. Not only for her, but for himself. While they move on and learn to be the Enforcer mated pair, Bay will find herself on a path that leads her to a history beyond just her and Adam’s mating. When she finds a locket rich in history and memories, she’ll do all in her power to see those involved found and remembered. With Adam by her side, they’ll both find the true meaning of forgiveness.

Author’s Note: This is a novella set between books 4 and 5 to give you a taste of Bay and Adam. It is best that you have already immersed yourselves in the Redwood Pack world, however even new readers will enjoy a glimpse of one of the Redwood’s favorite couples.

Question Sunday

Howdy! This is the first Sunday I’m doing this and I hope to do it more in the future! Ask my anything you’d like in the comments and I’ll come and update the post throughout the day with the answers! So ask away!

Q from Hannah: Are you doing more books past Jackson’s in Holiday, Montana?

A: Yes! Starting in 2016, I’ll be doing 5 more Holiday, Montana books. These had always been in the back of my head but hadn’t known if I would be able to do them because of time and interest from readers. Well, you guys asked, so here I am!

Q from Hannah: OMG I have to wait until 2016? WHY!?

A: I know that seems like a long wait, but between now and Jan 2016 I have at least 22 books coming out. At least. So yes, you have to wait a bit to meet the new Holiday crew, but I’m not going away anytime soon.

Q from Alice: Are you ever gonna write about the Redwood Pack kids?

A: Not in the Redwood Pack series. If I did, it would be in a different setting.

Book Spotlight: Rebecca Royce with Demon Within

demonwithin_msr-1 Today I have the woman who encouraged me to write. Rebecca writes awesome sifters and more. Today she’s showing off her first paranormal horror romance. Very, very cool.

Dakota Daniels is an exorcist. Or at least she used to be, until a demon destroyed her life, killing her mother and sending her into hiding. She never knows what’s around the next corner or whether she’ll live through the night.

Brady Knox, billionaire tech guru and media darling, is a man used to getting what he wants. Except when it comes to his sister, Sydney. She is the secret he never tells a soul. After all, how do you tell the world your sister has been possessed since she was ten years old without seeming like a lunatic?

When Brady seeks out Dakota’s assistance, he expects to get what he wants. When she doesn’t comply, he’s willing to use every resource at his disposal-even if that means seducing her into doing what he wants.

Dakota’s body yearns for Brady but she isn’t easily fooled, and if she decides to help him it will be on her own terms-assuming they can both make it through the night with their souls intact.

portraitAbout Rebecca

As a teenager, Rebecca Royce would hide in her room to read her favorite romance novels when she was supposed to be doing her homework. She hopes, these days, that her parents think it was well worth it.

Rebecca is the mother of three adorable boys and is fortunate to be married to her best friend. They’ve just moved to Texas where Rebecca is discovering a new love for barbecue!

She’s in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and tries to use all of these elements in her writing. She’s been told she’s a little bloodthirsty so she hopes that when you read her work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. Rebecca loves to write series because she loves to see characters develop over time and it always makes her happy to see her favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In Rebecca Royce’s world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

Snippet Saturday: Enforcer’s Redemption

Howdy! I’m back to my normal schedule. (I hope!) So here is a snippet from my backlist. Today is Enforcer’s Redemption (Redwood Pack 4). Since Adam and Bay’s novella, Forgiveness, came out this week, I thought I’d visit the novel that started it all.

The leaves crunched under Adam’s feet as he crouched down to the forest floor, the sickly sweet scent of the Centrals permeating and stinging his nose. He held back a curse and looked around, making sure he was alone. He’d been on patrol, searching around the outermost points of the wards to determine whether there’d been any intruders.

The wards possessed a natural ability to fend off humans. Meaning, that if a human came up to the Redwood den, they would have the sudden urge to leave or pass by without going any farther. Also, if for any reason they still continued on, which was highly unlikely, they couldn’t pass through the wards, and they would turn around on their own. However, those with any supernatural ability could see the wards, feel the wards, and try to get through the wards.

Witches, other werewolves, and even demons could see their wards, but only those of the Redwood could pass through them easily. Others would need an invitation and have to be by the side of a Redwood Pack member.

Enforcers RedemptionRedwood Pack Book 4

Adam Jamenson has suffered through the worst loss known to man. The only reason he lives day-to-day is to ensure the safety of his Pack. As the Enforcer of the Redwood Pack, it is his job to protect all in his path, though he was unable to protect the ones he held dear. The war with the Centrals is heating up and Adam must try and grit through it in order to survive. Though the broken man inside of him may not want to ….

Bay Milton is a werewolf with a past. And a secret. She’s met the Redwood’s Enforcer only once, but it left a lasting effect. Now she needs to find him or everything he had thought he lost, may be lost again.

Together, they must struggle and find a way to fight their pasts and present in order to protect their future. But the Centrals have a plan that might make their path one of loss and destruction.

Forgiveness Redwood Pack Book 4.7

Shattered Emotions Redwood Pack Book 5

Maddox Jamenson is the Omega of the Redwood Pack, the one burdened by emotions stronger than his own. He’s spent his entire life shrouded in the secrets of his “gift” and the price he has to pay to keep it, yet the cost just escalated. He’s known a mate could be in the cards for him, but he can’t have what he wants. Not when the battles he has yet to fight could destroy her.

Ellie Reyes was the Central’s princess, the daughter of the most hated Alpha of all time, yet not prized. No, she’s spent her life as the toy of her brother’s sadistic torture and has endured a pain that no one else should have to even contemplate. Though when she’s rescued, the one person who could help her, her mate, turns his back on her for reasons unknown to her. As each day passes, the strength that everyone sees in her dwindles to a point that there may be no coming back from.

When the Centrals find a new way to attack, leaving Ellie’s only protection a mate that she doesn’t think wants her, they’ll both have to overcome their fears and fight for something stronger than their pain. The war isn’t over and new players are coming that will decide the outcome. Maddox and Ellie’s connection will be tested even as their fragile bond is only newly forming.

Swag Sending Issues

Howdy!

So apparently the form that was supposed to email my assistant and I with requests for swag and bookmarks has been broken since March. Honestly we had no idea because the other four forms were working perfectly. I’m so sorry. We have your data in the website so we’ll sort this out. Plus we’re going to try and fix the form itself so this doesn’t happen again.

I’m so sorry this didn’t work and you guys have been waiting for swag. So so sorry!

FORGIVENESS: Another Excerpt for You

Bay stretched her hands over her head, needing to feel free for just a moment before she had to act like a docile wolf in front of the elders. She snorted at the thought.

Sure… her… docile.

In front of the elders, she might be that way, but anyone who knew her knew she wasn’t docile in the least. She’d act polite, soothing, and understanding because she had to be and, frankly, because she wanted to be.

These wolves had been through everything—wars, famine, death, and a few wonderful happy days in between. She had no idea how old they were—no one really did—but she knew they were older than the Alpha, and some were even older than the den itself.

FORGIVENESS: An Excerpt

Bay stood on her porch, the slight breeze whipping her hair around, and let out a breath. Even with all that was going on around her with the war, she only had thoughts for her family…and that locket. The vision had shaken her more so than others—even when she’d seen Anna and Adam together when she’d touched the mantel all those months ago. She knew she wouldn’t be able to focus on anything else, not really, until she solved the mystery of the locket.

What she wasn’t, however, was a sleuth. Meaning she’d need help. There was only one person she knew who could help her with the history of the Pack—Reed, her brother-in-law. Though he wasn’t a true historian, he did meet with the elders regularly to go through an oral history of the Pack. Then he’d write it down or paint it, depending on how it needed to be done. Considering the way old wolves lived, sometimes they forgot to document their past beyond a mere memory, but Reed was helping with that.

New Beginnings and Reflections

I’m always working on something, you guys know this. FORGIVENESS (Redwood Pack 4.7) came out yesterday and today so thank you for a wonderful time with Adam and Bay. So far the reviews have been amazing and people have loved going back for a small glimpse of into their lives.

I know Adam had a tough time in ENFORCER’S REDEMPTION (Redwood Pack 4) and Bay had even a tougher time, but I think you’ll like how their mating is going now. They’re both stronger for what happened to them and I was happy to visit them again. For those asking, yes, I do have plans for two more After the HEA novellas meaning that two of the pairs will be getting more stories–not everyone though. Also, I’m planning on writing a story about a certain character you met in FORGIVENESS. You know who I mean.

Next Week I’ll be uploading Chapter 1 of SHATTERED EMOTIONS (Redwood Pack 5) because it has the next release date of June 18th. Yes, Maddox gets his story. Those who have read it already have fallen in love with Maddox all over again and I’m scared to death as to what y’all think, but I’m always like this.

I just finished edits on DREAMS OF IVORY (Holiday, Montana 5) , Jackson’s story, so Lia Davis is reading it right now. Then it will go to my copy editor and we’ll get closer to it’s July release.

Today is the day that I get to start on Chapter 1 of AN UNLUCKY MOON (Dante’s Circle 3) and I’m not really in the mood. I’m usually like that when it comes to my first day of writing after a long weekend of edits and travelling, so it’s nothing new. However now I’m spending the past two days watching the news and breaking down.

I feel like every other week now we’re watching the news to follow a storm, a bombing, a shooting…something. We come together as a people and donate to the red cross. We site together and sob and try to come to terms with what happened. We’re horrified at the images and feel guilty that we’re secretly blessed it wasn’t us…this time.

Because of social media we all seem to know someone who was there. We follow twitter and Facebook and see people asking if they’ve heard from so and so who was running in the marathon or who lives in OK. We see posts from Sharon Sala, Gena Showalter, Jaci Burton and others saying that yes, they’re alive but it’s hell out there.

Because we’re connected to these people, even through a name on an image, we feel like we’re closer to this. It might be that something horrific and on the scale of dozens of deaths each time happens weekly and has always happened but we haven’t been able to learn about it so quickly. We’re seeing these things in real time and are glued to the news.

I’m having to physically pull myself away and watch something different. Then I feel guilty over it so I go back.

I have work to do. We all do. I need to start Hunter’s story today but I can’t find a way to get that destruction out of my head and go to his Pack so see what he’s doing and how he’s faring.

I know I have to. I know that I can’t feel guilty that I’m hundreds of miles away and can do nothing more than what I already have.

I can’t help it.

So yes, writing has been happening. Books are coming. I will be writing…but I’ll also be thinking about what I cannot change.

Like has been kicking us in the pants this year, last year, and the year before that, but I just pray we come out stronger.

We have to.
