"Why Are You So-" is Cathy's first book(memoir) published through Friesen Press in Canada and Ingram in the US. Cathy has had her work published in MacLean's Magazine in 2022. The piece 'Dear Aunty Mary" was inspired by a conversation with her Aunt at the start of Russia's war on Ukraine. Cathy was recognized as a Semi-Finalist in the 2024 Emerging Writers Short Prose Competition sponsored by the Shevchenko Foundation. The piece was titled: "Cathy Burrell Really IS Ukrainian" and was published in the Kelowna Daily Courier and The Penticton Herald. Cathy is an entrepreneur, consultant, writer, and Adult Educator living in Kelowna BC. She has lived in 3 Provinces and 1 Territory.
